ok I really love good music from latin, jazz to death metal... this bass just fits every style, you just need to have patience with the eq. I use it with a SWR bass 350 head, and GOLIATH III (4x10) cabinet, I also use Daddario EXL165, the bass sounds perfect with this strings.

The thing thats cool with the bass bridge its that you can adjust the entire height of it, but it has one problem... if you play with strings that have more gauge its very difficult to put them in the bass. the B string has that typical problem of any 34 scale bass (I think that a good way to prevent this is making it a 2+3 headstock design and making the B and E tunners further from the nut). the pickup and electronic is perfect, never had any problem with it; the "just a nut" helps with the string intonation. the wood quality is perfect.. love the combination of the swamp ash with the Ovangkol neck with wenge fingerboard (the wood and pickup gives you that "growl" that Warwick basses have)... My wife loves the finish and the bass it self.... jaja it's good to have the wife's aproval.

ok I have my bass since 1999 and never had any problem with it... I did some studio recordings and lots of live playing with it and the sound is perfect. the neck/truss rod holds up well, never had a problem. the hardware is still holding up (it's a gold hardware!). after a gig I always clean the bass... and the finish is still ok...

I been playing since 1996, had the opportunity to play very good and expensive basses like the Patittuci bass from Yamaha and liked better the sound of my Warwick. changing the problem's that I mentioned before would make it the perfect bass for me.

Made in 1998. Bought the same year from Fred's Music in Schillington,PA with a trade in ona Musicman 4 string. List price was about $1699. Who cares where it was made. We live on the same planet. How many frets does it have? All of them. 5 strings. (that's redundant) It's a bunch of wood glued together (not ash or maple)with some metal things which make it an electric bass guitar. You plug it into an amp and you got sound. MM stlye humbucker pickup. Not MEC. (AT least not printed on the pickup like the new ones, it may be) Which brings us to our first thingie. Active pickups. I have read that some FNA's (later models?) have what sounds like compression out of the electronics. Not this one! If i make a mistake and the string release is too dynamic the sound virtually explodes. It's scary. Really. Very startling to band members and myself.

I am a tone guy. I spent many years in music to learn how to play and build a song. I play country, rock, blues, and groove. All I do to change for different songs styles is roll the midrange knob to get more or less bite, or occasionally snarl. (Something which seems to happen by itself when the moon is in the right position and is not explainable.) Try GHS stainless steel CONTACT CORE strings. I read a review which seems to say this bass is lacking low end. Not so! Maybe their strings are wrong, or the setup is lacking in some way. Besides the strings I will make two recommendations which I would make with any setup. First, get a preamp. NO, not that one! Get a Tech21 RBI rackmount. (Just run the controls straight up to get started) Secondly, get rid of those awful cheap bass cables and interconnect cables. Who am I to tell you. Please experiment with cables because THEY ALL SOUND DIFFERENT! You Want proof. Take a cable and turn it around, back and forth to the amp. If you have a good setup you will hear a difference. If you don't hear a difference it's time to upgrade, because your sound is being choked off. Do youself a favor and buy the best sounding bass and amp you can, NOW! Because if you don't you will be 20 years from now. And spent all that money on stuff you didn't really want anyway. This particular bass I think is no longer available. Stuff like it, but not this. I have NEVER heard a bass that can stand up to this in tone. This has the clearest bite there is in the B string of any bass there is. 125-40. A Fender (for instance) can't be heard under any circumstance.

I have a 1999 model. It has an ash body with a flamed maple top. Mine has a slightly different pickup set up in that I have added the piezo system. I can't remember off hand what the neck is made out off, but Its perfect. The bridge is a great design but Its also got its faults. With this bass, like many warwicks, you either have to use tapered strings, or do some modification.

I play hard rock/nu metal. my set up is the FNA to a line 6 bass pod, then to an SWR 750 power amp run at 2.6 ohms, pushing and SWR 610 and a 115. The bass can be noisy if you crank the treble, but I prefer to run the EQ on the bass flat and its very quite. The sound is perfect for me, but I will admit its not for everyone. Its very colorful. All Warwicks have that growl, I prefer this cause I don't like my B and E strings to sound like an 808. The tone with the pick up and the piezo is endless. Everything a bass player could want. This bass is great both live and in the studio.

The bass was well set up from the factory but I had it set up for me. Every bass player is different and many prefer different set ups. As far as the MEC I lowered the pick up slightly because this pickup is very hot and dynamic. The pickup is also set with the D and G string side lower than the B and E side. This causes poping and high notes to be little smoother. I'd recommend this mod if you think higher notes are a little harsh.

The bass is built solid, But the wood is slightly hard to keep clean from from live shows, because it has an oiled finish. The hardware, was gold when I got it, some of it, mainly the tuners have faded to silver. but the hardware works perfect. The strap buttons are solid. Even with all the jumping around I do I've never had a problem with em. The bass is very dependable, the neck is very solid and in the four years I've owned it I've only had the truss rod adjusted twice. Its so reliable and I've got so used to stringing it I never bring a back up to gigs anymore.

Warwick has great customer support, I buy my Warwicks at guitar center. Which has always been great. The only problem I've ever had was when I lost the truss rod cover. It was slightly difficult to get another. But thats also a part that is ussually not sold.

I've been playing for nine years. I also own a thumb bolt on, a peavey and an Ibanez. If it was stolen I'd buy another one. I like it so much because it suits me. Its flawless. The only improvement would be neck thru. One of the cooler features is that you can adjust the hieght of the strings at the nut. The EQ is a little over done. Its made to be very fexible. I always run the EQ flat and the push pull in the out position. I compared this bass to the music man stingray and the modulus flea bass. THe necks on all three were completely different. The music man is very bulky, boomy, and lacked the tone color I like. The flea is a great bass in its own right and came in at a close second but the graphite neck, just like the warwick growl has a certain tone. I prefered the growl. I will admit the FNA is not the prettiest of the three but its the best all around. As far as what it could have. I kinda wish Warwick would release a corvette FNA with a neck thru, the piezo system, and a contoured body.

1999 Warwick Corvette FNA 5-string. German made. Active MEC Bridge PU (like Musicman, Lakland, etc.). Volume (with push/pull boost), Treble, Mid, and Bass EQ.

I'm a rocker. Not quite metal, but I do like something with a growl. I'm big into Incubus (Dirk Lance, not Ben Kinney), and RHCP (If you dont know who this is, i pity you), but honestly, I come out sounding more like Old Nickelback, Old Creed, and new Fuel. This Bass fits me perfectly, whether i'm dabbling in Funk, or holding down a modern rock riff, it sticks with me with incredible ease. It's got a deep, but full bright tone. It truly makes my Fender Mexi P-Bass sound like a one-trick-pony.

Since I got this bass used, the finish had a few knicks and scratches, but besides that, it has a beautiful black/grey stained coloring to it (warwick calls it "Nirvana Black"). The Neck is Lightly finished, and plays very quickly for it. The Wenge Fingerboard is the best part. For those not familiar, wenge is almost never finished. It breaks so smoothly and cleanly that it does not need finish, only light sanding, and occasional polishing. Very Comfortable to play on.
The PU is adjustable via a single screw on the "G" side, and 2 screws on the "B" side. This has allowed me to adjust it so that the part of the pickup that is closer to the bridge rests slightly higher than the nick side so I can play hard slap, and smooth rock without having to worry about hitting the pickup.

The fna 5 string i have has excellent features. It has a swamp ash body which is beautiful. It features 4 knobs(volume, treble, mid, and bass) the big MEC coil pick up is very helpful in any kind of genre. The bridge is the best feature probably on the bass its the custom warwick bridge, you warwick freaks know what im talking about!!
Oh yeah its active(DUH).

Well the sound is not the best for my style. My style of music is pretty much metal. The bass doesnt have enough low end for me but it is very good for jazz, blues, and progressive rock. Currently im using an ampeg 15" sub, a black widow 18" sub, and two custom 10" heads. Even with the two subs the bass still is to "pingy" for my style of music. If it only had another big humbucker!!
(yet perfect for"Mudvayne Metal"!!)

The bass was in pretty much perfect condition from factory. Yet, the action was way too high and the bridge needed alignment. Also it is very, very heavy (*but makes it very sturdy and stiff*)overall this section was pretty good.

This bass is very good for studio and stage because it sounds good and no worry in breaking. The finish will probably last, everybody says you need the wax to keep the finish up but i dont use it and it still is beautiful. The strap locks are not solid the come off when im playing, which sucks cuz your bass is in fear of hitting the floor. Very dependable and the truss has no need in repair yet. i would definitly use it at a gig alone .Very Dependable!!

This bass is made in Germany and is about a year or two old. It has 24 frets and it is a five string. It has an active humbucker by seymore duncan which is killer for Jaco midrange and harmonics, but if you put some Fodera strings on there, man it will sound like Stu Hamm's bass, eventhough it is only one pickup. There are 4 knobs on the bass. Vol., treb., mid., bass. It is great. The neck is ovanokal and it has a flamed maple top. The body style is called Corvette. Now Chevy (i think) made Warwick change so they made it FNA(Formerly kNown As). Hence the Corvette FNA. The bridge is great. VERY ADJUSTABLE. The bass came with tools to set it up with. The tuners are scheter i think but im not positive. The neck is nice. It is sorta flat, which i love, because my hand is huge. It came with a gig bag and a strap. And get this: the strap locks are built into the bass! It is so cool. and it also has a great body contours.

This bass fits every style. I play everything from Jaco, Steve Vai, Dream Theater, Victor Wooten, and big band and jazz. It does it all. I use an Ampeg SVT3-Pro with it and a 410 cab with a horn. What tone! I also use an EQ, Boss Me-30, Ibanez TS9, and a morely Volume pedal. You can get any sounds with the right adjustments. I have never used it to record in a studio but i used it on a Fostex 4-track and it worked wonderfully. No dislikes here.

I dont remember the action set up. I set it up myself and went wild with super low action, and NO BUZZING! The pickup was adjusted decently but i changed it so that the D and G got closed to the pickup and the E and B were over the magnet. I lowered it around the lower strings since it picks up low freq. better. I had to even it out. The only flaw was a ding in the neck but i think that it happend at the store i bought it from.

The best thing is that this bass lasts. I have dings in mine from continual playing and it is a finsih that you need to wax every week. A labor of love. The strap locks never fail. I can use it on a gig without a backup but i have a history of breaking strings every couple weeks or every month so i never go anywhere with out an extra

Warwick is a great company. They are very friendly and actually called a place from Germany to tell them to call me and see if i wanted to get a custom! Now THAT is service. I have never had to get it repaired. It is not under warranty and i need to get that done.

I've been playing for 4 years and i am 16. I know what sounds good and bad. Ive played piano from the age of 3. I own a Strat and 68 bassman. Along with a aria proII with EMG PJ's. I love my warwick and would never give it up. It is perfect for everything. My favorite feature is the pull Volume knob to boost low and high for slap. I wish it had a jazz pick up on it by the neck but Warwick just came out with that. The Jazzman. I must get one.
