I play all kinds of music, ranging from jazz and fusion, to rock and metal and because of the great tone variation in the pickups and preamp, the souns is totally awesome for every genre there is. You can get alot of great sounds. For example that "sweaty" Marcus Miller sound, the punchy Flea sound and even a bit of Jaco, with the added power of a humbucker.

I use a Trace Elliot V-type 300W amplifier with a Peavey 4x11 cabinet, and it sounds really warm and nice. I have tried it out on solid state amps too, and it sounds great as well. The sounds of this bass is the typical "woody" Warwick sound.

I have used it in the studio through a Guitar POD, and straight through the mixer, and both ways it cuts through really good in the mix.

Playing it live is great, you can easily change the sound you want, sometimes by simply flicking the mini-switch to get a brutal jazz-musicman combo.

I love the sound.

The action was low, fast, no fretbuzz and ready to rock. The front pickup was a little to close to the g-string, but you fix that in a second.

Flawless!

If you take care of the bass, wax the body, change the battery this bass will last forever live. Just remember to wipe of the oil-finished neck after long gigs, as the sweat can cause a white "glare" on the neck. Nothing that affects the sound, just the feeling. I have never had to do that.

The finish is natural oil, so it needs to be waxed. After a few waxings it only needs to be waxed maybe once every month or twice. If you just do this it will look ever so beautiful. The stapbuttons are Jim Dunlop flush-mount straplocks, which are VERY solid. They work great, just push the button to release the strap.

It is very reliable. If the battery should run out during a gig, you can just switch to passive mode by pulling the volume knob, so you won't have to interrupt the song. I have never had to adjust the trussrod, and I hav had the bass for a year now. The neck is very thick, so there is very little need of adjusting the trussrod, unless you want to switch to 0.50 strings.

I would without doubt use this bass on a gig without backup. It is so well-built that you can be sure it will stand up to anything.

Handmade in Germany by Hans Peter-Wilfer himself. Only 200 of these basses were made, and they're all beautiful. 24 frets and a 34" scale 4-string. Solid swirly bubinga top over french walnut body, ovangkol neck and a rosewood fingerboard. Volume/tone stacked pot, with a push/pull active/passive switch. Pickup blend, and 3-band EQ, as well as a 3-way switch for the EMG Humbucker. A slanted single coil and a Humbucked consist of the pickup compliment, and they switch active/passive. All natural wax finish, and a Corvette body style. All black hardware, from the Warwick angled tuners to the just-a-nut II and the two-piece bridge. Came with a Rockbag, owners packet, and a 5-year warranty. Couldn't ask for more, this bass is perfect.

I play a lot of jazz and funk, generally a wide range of stuff. This bass is versatile by definition, with an array of sounds possible based on the electronics. The only time I get any noise is balancing the active circuit all the way to the single-coil pickup, and backing that off towardsthe bridge pickup even a bit cuts the noise. I lovethe ability to go from a bright, cutting tone to a mellow, bluesy kind of tone, and I'm pretty sure I can hit anything in between. The only sound I don't havei n this bass is an old p-bass with dead flatwounds.

THe action and feel of this bass is wonderful, and it's even prettier than it is nice to play. The bubinga top is unique and durable, andthe wood glows. The action was nice and low from the factory, and toehrthan a major climate change, which meritted a minor setup, this bass has been solid. No flaws apparent, but who would expect one, it was hand-made by THE MAN at Warwick.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I would gig with this bass, with out a backup and without worry. Everything about this bass seems to be built to last, but I baby it like no other bass, it's so unique in and of itself. The finish just needs to be waxed once in a while, and the stap buttons are huge, I can barely get straps on them, let alone off.

I'veonly had a few questions for Bass NW or Warwick, and both were prompt and thourough in answering everything I needed.

Overall Rating : 10
What a great bass. Probably the nicest bass I've ever played, and easily worth what I paid for it. Plus, it's a limited model, so it'll only build in value. Thank you, Warwick, this bass is my baby.
