I have the 5 string version. Specs are:
* US Swamp Ash body, 2-piece design with hollow tone chambers
* intricate veneer lining
* 3/8" AAAA Flamed Maple top
* Flamed Maple neck with Flamed Maple fingerboard and "Planet" inlays, 24 frets
* Fingerboard radius: 640 mm (25,5")
* Scale length: 34" (long)
* Active MEC H/H soapbars
* Satin tinted finish
* Black hardware
* Active MEC 3-band electronics
* Warwick security locks
* LTD number plate and handsigned by Hans Peter Wilfer on the back of the headstock
* Comes with "Premium Line Plus" RockBag?? for bass guitar
Setup was perfect for my playing style and the neck is super fast.
I bought this bass primarily for its features and sound. I was looking for a versatile bass that gave me control to play any style of music. I was also looking for something light weight after getting sick of getting neck aches during gigs.
The Hot Rod (or Hot Blonde as some call it) more than covered and still covrs what I was looking for... no other bass has come close.

I've had this bass for a couple of years now and it's perfect for all my needs...
I have read some reviews that say the Hot Rod does not have the Warwick 'Growl' and others that suggest changing the MECs... I can dial anything I want with this bass, including the famous Warwick 'Growl'. The trick is to keep the amplification simple and avoid running multiple preamp setups. This way, you get the pure sound and versatility that the bass can offer.
My setup is simply: The Hot Rod; the Markbass amp; the Ampeg cab... and that's it. I sometimes run some effects throught the effects loop.
I adjust my amp settings to zero and make all my preamp adjusting from the bass... awesome

As I've said. The Hot Rod is smaller than traditional basses, lightweight, attractive, easy to play, easy to adjust and extremely reliable. I couldn't ask for anything better.

Clear, more clarity and bright tone without sacrifice classic Warwick sound.
I like its MEC active pickups and preamp, very flexible.
Low-B string sounds good.
