It have a killer sound and subbass tone.
It's a real monster for Metal and other music like Korn, Godsmack, Slipknot and other.
Also it sounds great for pop, trip-hop, r'n'b and other.
With this bass you can have any sound you want, even sound like Fieldy of Korn.
Wery powerfull Treble and Bass.

But this bass have perfect sound only with a MESA/Ampeg amps/combos.
Any other brands (fender/beringer/marshall) sjunds SUCKS because they don't have so much power like Mesa and Ampeg.


I also used my Warwick with a SansAmp Bass Driver DI. IT'S A REALY MONSTER SOUND.

Earlier I looked for new Thumb 5st model, but I don't like his sound. Then I try my ProLine and it was perfect!

Never have any problems with Warwick.

I played many bases, but Warwick is the best for me. ProLine kills all bases from Ibanez, Yamaha and other.

Mine is an early 1990's model with 24 frets, 4 string. Flamed maple body and ovangkol neck. The pickups are passive MEC D.C. j-style and the electronics and passive (volume, pickup balance, tone). The pickups are great but i get a lot of noise through my Yorkville XM200. And I'm having serious troubles lately with the trussrod system. And active pickups would be better.

The sound on this thing is a beauuuuuty! I love the growl, the highs seem a little "masked" but its the perfect sound i want, bright mids, dark lows, perfect for the stage. When i gig with it, the sound is perfect through my amps D.I.

I'm having serious problems with the truss rod, therefore hindering any action adjustments i may have. In addition there is a small crack where the neck meets the head, its seriously concerning me. The p/u's were poorly adjusted when i first got the bass

This bass is durable, except for the problem i am having with the neck. This bass does need constant tuning of the neck wqhen u get the strings though, but other than that, its made like a brick.

The customer support i have gotten so far is total SHIT!, just warning u all in advance, when i inquired about a replacement neck, the guy jsut ignored me, im ready to flip, but i love the bass so much.

Overall great bass, the CU is crap, and the neck is a little weak, but everyhting else, is PERFECT!

Playing (Southern)Rock and metal this bass sound wonderfull warm and Punchy. Clear tones without getting sterile. 3 band EQ would be nice.

Bought second hand and setup was awful. Setup myself and now has a very low action, no buzzing and very fast playable. Need to wax regurlary to keep te flamed maple shining.

Played for a few months. Feels very solid. Doesn't detune and seems to have no problem with changing temperatures or humidity. I normaly switch between my 5 string corvette standard and this baby so i'll always have a backup. I don't feel like i need one though.

Playing for 12 years (like wine, getting better every year ;-)). Owning also a Warwick Corvette standard 5 string Fretless and a MM Stingray 5 Fretted. (Wanna buy?). I was a MM lover but now it's only warwick for me. Love the deep warm growl without losing definition in the sound.

Sounds best played through my Trace Elliot 250/4x10" + Horn Combo. Im using a Boss ME50B to add some distortion or other affect every now and then.

It suits my style fine. I play everything: blues, contemporary Christian, Stu Hamm, Jaco, punk, slap, ska, reggae... and on. I don't use alot of effects and beleive me, the Warwick has a beautiful natural sound. I usually DI straight into the console for one of my gigs and the other has a house Hartke that runs into the system. I use a volume pedal and sometimes a wah. I would like to use a Sansamp, but we will see.

This bass has the Warwick growl! But at the same time it has a different sound from alot of Warwicks. The sound from the Proline is close to that (not the same... but) of the Streamer Stage II (which costs nearly twice as much). That is, the maple body gives it a more trebley tone than other Corvettes and the Thumb BO basses (which are the two most common).

Sustains like no other! Having grown up playing 4-string Fender-style basses, and learning to do Stu Hamm tapping on those, this bass is a real revelation. Right hand taps ring out longer and stronger with less effort. The harmonics are very subtle and crisp.

The treble boost is a bit of overkill in most situations. The tone is bright enough that I run it with the Treble down and the bass boost up. It doesn't get "clangy" like Stingrays, but it does get extremely bright. Much brighter than other Corvettes as I have said.

Oh and having two full octaves on each string is awesome.

All in all a woody, growly, but bright sound. Very, very nice.

There are absolutly no flaws in the craftmanship of this bass. The neck join is perfectly tight, the frets are all smooth, the neck seam is almost invisible... and so on.

The action was actually perfect. Even though this is the first five string I have owned (not played, mind you), I had no trouble taking advantage of the extended range. No noise from any of the electronics, perfect sheild painting in the control cavity. No flaws at all! I am a stickler for detail and I cannot find a thing wrong with this bass.

I haven't had it long enough to know. It almost never needs tuning and everyone I know who uses Warwicks never has to adjust the truss rod. They call them Heirloom Quality instruments, and from the heft and construction that is no lie. I never use a backup. Being able to bypass the preamp in an emergency really covers most problems.

I have been playing bass since I started high school, so 9 years. I have always wanted a better bass. When I had the money for my first bass, I thought that the $349 dollars I had spent was alot. Well I was wrong.

I have always wanted a better bass, but my philosophy is that the best bass players don't need a fancy bass to sound good. So I have waited. I play at a large church, for a campus college group, and sit in with a couple of rock and blues bands. I have played in several garage punk bands and am always ready to play.

So, as a fresh faced Engineering graduate I blew some money on a good bass. Finally.

I have played Fender style (Stingrays included) basses for most of my life and only now have owned a real high end bass (yes, I know its not really that high end...). I tried all of the BTBs, Stingrays, Laklands, Modulus, Pedullas, Carvins, Spectors, Yamahas, and Soundgears I could get my hands on. My only rules were: made in US or equivalent craftsmanship, active preamp.

Now, I hated the way Warwicks looked for a long time. But the truth is, when I first tried one, I was shocked at how great it sounded and how well the body shape and neck fit me. The neck is wide, but not that wide. It's not Soundgear thin, but its not BTB fat, either. It simply fits me very well, even though I have smaller hands.

So, over the past two years I caved in and decided to get a Warwick. Sure, it does not have the same physical appearance of a Jazz or a Stingray, but it is so much nicer. I really think that there are few basses that can hold a candle to Warwicks. Get over your ego, try one. They really rock.

Whoa. The sound on this baby is ultra smooth, warm and deep. Very rich , full, and muscular. Even on the bridge pickup only it still has beef, unlike my fender j-bass. I am in love with the elegant tone of this bass. But from my opinion and im not the first to say this, this bass does lack potential highs and presence. I haventt played with my band yet so i dont know how good it will cut through. Maybe extensive eq-ing on the amp will help this out, i dunno. I traded a carvin lb20, a fender deluxe jazz (mexi), a dearmond 5 string and an ibanez gsr 200 for this one. If this cant cut the treble i might seek out another fender j-bass, an active one, or the geddy lee one, or a newer soundgear. The warwick corvette is my kinda sound, or my ideal of how a bass should sound, but, that sound might not cut well, we will see.

Plays very silky, but the neck is substantial. Not a little soundgear neck, but not a big chunk of wood. A good medium, i like it. My vette has none other than grade A craftsmanship. It has a very solid feel. But the tuners and hardware have a gold color. I like that color the best, but ive heard that they rust or whatever. The controls where a little loose, but im sure thats because she was sitting in guitar center for a few months getting molested by little cretins. Nothing a screwdriver cant handle. A little tightening.

This bass will survive a nuclear attack. But thats nothing special. I have seen the same reliability in high end fenders and other basses for this price. Its sort of a standard or expectation. But warwick does live up to the expectation.

i havent had to deal with them, and i hope i never will.

I just got this bad girl yesterday. She will sound wonderful for jazz, indie rock, quick funk runs, slap, clean, pristine styles, etc. Excellent for my indie rock band, but i dunno how well she will cut through in my hard rock band. She definately has balls (ewww!) and big bottom (yummy) and will shake the walls and sound massive behind the distorted power chords, but if she will have a voice of her own and have enough presence and treble to cut through for lead riffs, she is my new lover.

This is a nice sounding bass. I play it through a 400rb GK head with the original SWR Goliath 4X10 Cab. It sounds great through that setup especially when the active is on. I feel that this model has a fairly bright sound with the Warwick Growl of course. I have had a few different Warwicks- A Stage I and a couple Thumb basses. I would have to say i dont like the stage compared to this Proline. The thumb bass is awesome and if you have the money its worth upgrading to.

I got this used,but the action is good. I haven't had to have it setup over the last 4 years i have owned it.

This bass is badA$$. It is built rugged. I would use it without a backup for sure, even though its always nice to have abackup just in case.

Overall I love this bass. I have had so many nice basses but there is something very special about this one which will make me keep it forever. I would love to add a thumb to my collection though because those sound/play a bit better. This bass makes a fender feel like a toy.

i play mainly metal to heavy rock and this thing is a beast. it is the only bass i have ever played where i do not have the need to replace the pickups.

i would play without a backup. like any active use a fresh battery.

i love this bass and it will be with me forever. i got the deal of a lifetime when i picked it up for the price i did. i have fender american deluxe p & j basses. i love the j bass but it had to be modified with bartoloni p/u b4 i was happy. i do not feel that need with this bass.

Made in 2001 from Germany. Five strings. Ovangkol neck, maple boy, wenge fingerboard, actve electronics, two way EQ. Everythng is OK, but...

I tought i liked Warwick sound until I bought this bass. I play mostly funk/fusion/Latin music, and the bass simply don't do the job on the stage or in the studio. VERY poor treble, lack of bright and sustain, no difference in neck/bridge playing, no middle in all, diffuse bass tone. I played it thru a EBS Gorm and changed the sound in the amp. It sucks. It has, however, a personal sound, if you like Warwick sound.

I'm not joking: The first bass they sent me had the truss rod broken from the factory! Sad but true...
The second one was apparently fine: Low action, well adjusted truss rod,etc. But the bass is very sensible to humidity and temperature: Three weeks later I was visiting my luthier because it was imposible setting it up fine. And a year later the top of the body was peel off because of sweat. Just deplorable

I've playing for ten years and never will buy another Warwick. I've got now a Stingray, a JB, and a Ibanez ATK and actually never play the Warwick. Check the (old) ATK and you'll have a tree-times better bass for three-times less money.

I was looking for a "hot rodded Jazz type bass" so I bought this 1994-95 German made 4 string 24 fret solid body flame maple bass. (Not a AAAAA but just lightly flamed.) Has double J-Bass type active / passive pickups. The bolt on neck is also flame maple with a dense fingerboard. (Not rosewood but very smooth and nice.) The body and neck are unfinished but positively smooth. It almost doesn't feel like wood. Has the adjust-a-nut and as far as the bridge / tailpiece goes, you can adjust it in almost ANY direction you want and then lock it in place. Volume push pull to disengage the preamp, p/u balance, and stacked bass / treble controls are very versatile.

The sound is absolutely unbelievable! VERY CLEAN using all styles.Fingers, slap, tap. I play this bass through a SWR LA-15 with no effects. WOW! With the controls on this instrument, (volume, pan, and stacked bass/treble) I can get almost any sound I want without having to use the amp circuitry to compensate for dead frequecies. The volume knob also pulls put to bypass the active circuitry. This is normally an absolute pain because other basses I've had with this feature suffer almost total volume dropoff. Not here. The only dropoff I get is if I've pushed the active circuit to the max and then pull the pot. The only dislike I have is that the action is SO LOW that when I switch to slap it drops off the face of the earth. There isn't enough room off the neck for the string to get a good vibration. I have talked to Warwick and they suggest a set up or a graphic eq. The only sound you WON'T get out of this bass is a VERY DEEP LOW RUMBLY FARTY sound. Yes it will shake the place though.

As I said earlier, the action on this bass is almost too low. Absolutely amazing since I had the bass shipped here from Germany with no case! As far as fit goes I must say this bass is VERY comfortable and access to the neck is almost totally unhindered in any way. This may be different for other players. After all, how many of us are built the same!? The finish is FLAWLESS. The maple neck and body don't even feel like unfinished wood. No it's not even oiled. Only beeswaxed.

This will probably be the last bass I own unless I buy a second Warwick. The only thing I wish was different is the neck should have threaded inserts instead of screwing straight into the neck!

I've owned Fender P & J basses, Ibanez, Rickenbacker, MusicMan,and Kawai basses before. I've also played a few Alembics, Tobias, Pedulla, Ken Smith, Peavey, Modulus etc. and this is absolutely the finest instrument I've ever owned or played. I've also played other Warwicks and liked them alot, but I've never seen or played a flame maple one until I bought this. Yep I bought it off eBay and was a little concerned. Then I plugged it in. OUCH!! No more worries! Oh one last thing. If this is how a 94 performs, I don't think I would hesitate a bit to get another used one! Maybe I will. Got a Fortress One Musicmaster 5-string you want to part with?

This is my first Warwick. It won't be the last! Bought in 2003. A German made instrument that radiates quality.

5-piece ovangkol bolt-on. Feels really solid and is nice and smooth.

FINGERBOARD:
Wenge. I am definitely a convert. It has a unique open texture that is not perfectly smooth. Very resonant.

PICKUPS:
MEC active J/J. Great sounding pickups, particularly when set to 'passive'.

ELECTRONICS:
MEC Active BEC II, 2-way. Very flexible. I can get a lot of different sounds out of this guitar without losing that distinctive Warwick 'growl' that I love so much.

FRETS:
24 jumbo bell brass. This bass has a ton of sustain, and this is one of the reasons why. Notes seem to flow through the whole body of the guitar.

A little fatter than I am used to, but I still think that this is a faster instrument than my other basses, all with thinner necks. In my opinion, it encourages good technique.

There are three control knobs. Volume, pickup pan, and stacked tone controls. The finish on this guitar is 'Ocean Blue' satin oil.

The bridge is really cool! Bridge height, individual string height, and string spacing are all adjustable.

Last, but not least, is the 'Just-A-Nut 2' adjustable nut. Adjust the height of the nut on the fly? I'll never go back!!!

I play a broad range of musical styles, from bluegrass to rock to fusion to jazz. This bass is comfortable in all settings. This bass shines straight through any amp I have played it through. No effects? No problem! This bass has a ton of sustain and good volume in all tonal ranges.

If you don't like the Warwick sound you won't like this guitar. That characteristic growl is hard to get away from. However, if you are like me and can't get enough of it, this is your guitar. I think it sounds just as good as the more expensive Thumb and Dolphin models.

The action was a little higher than I like to play on, but it was easily adjustable. The truss rod did not need adjustment. I was able to work out some VERY minor buzzes in the fifth fret by tweaking string height and nut height.

This guitar was the floor model. There were some very minor dings in the finish, but nothing major.

This is the most solid-feeling bass I have ever played. I replaced the strap buttons with some strap locks. The original ones were a bit oversized--I didn't even try to get one of my straps over it (I may have busted a blood vessel!).

The finish seems very delicate. It shows minor dings and scratches easily. Warwick basses with color finishes do not require wax, but I may apply some to help protect the instrument's finish.

The neck is very solid and holds up without needing adjustment. I don't know how this thing holds its tuning so well, but I am not complaining.

I have been playing bass for 16 years, and this is the nicest instrument I have ever owned. I have a deep, unhealthy love for it! There are those out there who don't like Warwick basses overall, but I think that this guitar has staying power and character. It will be in my collection for many years. No bass I have ever owned can compare to this one...

I have a 2002 Warwick Corvette Proline 5 String. I am absolutely in love with it. It has a Maple A top, Gold hardware, MEC Active Pickups, and Wenge Neck, and pretty much any features you need in a bass if you are a serious musician. It also has the "Just-a-Nut" feature that allows you to adjust the nut with a wrench to aquire a comfortable string action for any player.

The sound is unbelievable. Its made of 100% high quality wood, not graphite like the modulus. The pickups are great, they are silent when not playing, and very punchy when they need to be. This bass delivers high quality sound just like a set neck without the extra cost

There's nothing like the wood on a warwick bass.

The "just-a-nut" enables you to adjust the action to however you want it.

I havent had mine very long, but it always stays in tune. the electronics are very reliable. I use schaller strap locks.

I have and will buy other basses in my life, but i will always rely on a warwick to be at my side for any important gigs. It sounds, looks, and plays better than any modulus, ibanez, fender, alembic, or ernie ball i've ever played/owned

I bought my 4 string corvette used for $600. Best 600 i ever spent. Made in West germany. This bass has a 2 piece bubinga body and a 5 piece wenge and ovangkol neck. 24 jumbo frets and a sick, fully adjustable tune-o-matic bridge. Two jazz style MEC pickups. The natural finish looks beautiful, but requires a lot of care. I fitted it with schaler strap locks cause these basses are heavy! Volume, treble, and balance. This bass kicks some serious ass.

This bass is the best sounding bass ive ever played. It has a rich, full, woody growl that anyone can appreciate. I only use a digitech BP200 as far as effects goes. other times i might use a GEB-7 boss bass EQ pedal but hats about it. It sounds terrific through anything. The treble has a beautiful mix of highs and mids when u turn it up. No flaws here.

Beautiful finish, very well balanced, superb action. I got this bass used, everything was set up very well when i got it. the only flaws are a few, tiny nicks in the wood. Everything else is perfect. The just-a-nut II is the smartest feature ive seen on a bass in a while

This bass with withstand anything. The hardware is rock solid and the natural finish is durable. Although i changed the finish color so it is much darker, it still rocks. I have yet to adjust the truss rod and the neck is extremely durable. I used Schaler strap locks because the other strap buttons were a little small

I actually bought the corvette I now have twice. The first time (I don't remember the year) in the early to mid 90's, brand new(about $1200.00), in Tampa. Loved it, but after a while, thought I needed a sound with more "heft" ( Fender or Musicman),so traded it off. Later on, bought a corvette standard. Same story. Sold it to a friend. About a year ago, I stopped at a pawn shop on the way home from work (on a lark) and found my first one hanging on the wall. Gave the man $450.00 and have not let it go since. It's a 4-string, 2-octave, fretted, ash-body,wenge neck,passive electronics,twin MEC jazz-style pickup beauty. I love just holding this bass, you can feel the quality, it's very solid. In fact, the first time I bought it I gave it to my guitarist at rehearsal to check out and he DROPPED it(bonehead)! It didn't even go out of tune! The neck is immently playable,like the proverbial butter. Mine is from the time period when they made the nuts out of brass and each string could be adjusted individually. Very cool feature. Mucho quality (hey, I've been impressed with it from day one).

As I mentioned above, I've had problems in the past with the sound. Don't get me wrong, the bass has a beautiful even, rich, deep tone that I love...I always have had problems finding my sonic "niche" in my band when using this bass (classic rock, some newer stuff). I've never had that problem with Fenders. It's just someting that I have to work out, I guess, because it DOES have a damn fine tone. Funny, though, it's my main choice for recording (I use a bass pod).

I honestly have not been able to find ANYthing wrong with this bass, even after whatever adventures it went through before it ended up at the pawnshop. Beautiful low action that doesn't buzz, and again, such a feeling of solid quality.

Ive never had to make any adjstments on it. I've played several gigs without a backup and never gave a second thought to it crapping out. Very dependable. It came with the inverted straplock system, which is such a cool, clean-looking idea.

Obviously, I don't have warranty coverage now, but I did e-mail the company after I bought it the second time, just to ask about allen wrench sizes and truss rod tools. They were very helpful.

I've been playing for twenty-plus years, and have gone through a ton of equipment. Right now, in addition to the Warwick, I have an eighties Ibanez Roadstar bass (the one that more closely resembles a Spector than a precision), an eighties(again)Yamaha bx-1 headless bass(they marketed them in a black finish-their version of the Steinberger-but the guy I bought mine from -on ebay-stripped it and underneath was a beautiful 5-piece mahogany and maple neck-through),a 70's ash-body Fender Precision with Bartolini pj pickups, and a Strat.

German made, blah blah blah... just read the other dudes thing. this ones in ocean blue on flamed maple. i love the adjustable-everything. you can actually adjust the string spacing, and the nut height. how cool is that?!??!

It has a wide variety of sounds. I like to do just about everything (slap, tap, pick, finger, etc...) and it sounds good. damn good. I use a GK 400 III RB Combo, a Hartke 3500 thru a Mesa Diseil style 4x10 cab. Sounds great thru both. It is definately not noisy, and is very very rich in sound, both live and recorded

The only problem was when i bought it at Guitar Center, the neck was a little warped, but they fixed that on the spot. The only annoying this with this bass is that the strings sometimes rattle on the saddles. I stuck a little tissue under there, though, to muffle it. You can adjust anything on the bass, like i said before. So, I set it up specifically to my playing sytle (E string slightly higher than other strings, generally low action). The finish requires to be waxed every week or so. I do it every two, becuase I don't abuse my bass and sweat on it or do anything that would flaw the finish. The only flaw i found was I was attempting to adjust the bridge, and part of the saddle broke off. It didnt really effect my playing, i just stuck it back on where i wanted, and the string holds it in place. Beleive it or not, breaking it off actually gave me more versatility on adjusting it, and i like it more now. 10 becuase it's @#)%$(*@)$(*# perfect!!!

The only thing that broke, like i said, was part of the saddle (the little allen screw thingy, whatever its called, broke) but that was no problem, and i like it better broken off. I replaced the strap buttons with strap locks. The neck is starting to warp a bit, but that's expected. I would gig with a backup only becuase I always do. I use a Fender J for backup, another bass i love. but, it has yet to fail me.

I love this bass. You should too. It's a great bass, and if it was stolen i would find the guy who did it and do things that should not be posted on the internet to him. I play lots of stu hamm and tool stuff, and it's a great bass for tapping and picking. if you check out warwicks site it shows everyone who plays a warwick (everyone famous), and you can see the musical difference between all of them. rockers to latin gods. So anyway, it's a great bass that's slightly costly, but worth every penny.

I don't actually know what year is it the thruth is it was made in Germany and it came with a case wich is real kool it got 2 MEC pickups

with some slaping techniques Plus funk,R&B and some Hip-Hop but man i have this fender that
i never tought that was going to be the cheapest in the sound but anyways every time i play other musicians just want to atleast
hold the strings.

I thinks the best because i didn't even had to put that much volume
to the bass or anything else.

Damn this thing is cool,I play alot of funk slap style and the bass is so much better at it then my fender-p,iam using a hartke 2500 rack amp with a old 70s speaker inclosure on stage and a introsound head with a mosfett 600 wt biamp with ampeg speaker in the studio,awsome at both!Very full warm growl!But buyer beware if your not great at slapping stick with your fender because if you screw up this bass will catch you!it will cath everything!I love it for slap but also sounds great with soft warm jazz!If you want to know what this baby sounds like pick up a dave mathews cd!i see why its lessards fav bass!

Well again its great!you know how it really ticks you off when you look at a bass very close and see little screw ups?like fender is really bad about it!Like around the horn it that tight little place were the saw was a little ruff?well i dont think warwick used a saw i wonder if the wood just grew in the shape of a warwick bass?its just too perfect!i bought this bass used from a guy who hasnt played for long and the action was awfull some people shouldnt be alowd to tuch such a fine instument!like i said if you havent played for a few years go buy a fender and save money!

I love how you can set this bass up in so many ways!like i said i like funk!and when you try to set up your action for lets say finger tap i like my settings very low!but with my fender or my lakland if you try to go to low it hits!well warwick solved that little problem you can also adjust it at the top of neck!this bass will last forever!this bass is very trustworthy!electroncs very clean i would use it without a back up!

iave bing been playing in a funk rock band for about 10 years and been play bass about 17 years if it was stolen i would go to every house in my city and search!i would torture and kill anyone for stilling it!but yes i would spend twice the amount!or hell 10 times the amount!if you are a very serious bass player and want a very serious bass buy a warwick!anystiyle!if you have just started and can only play a few metalica songs get somthing else!like i said these pickups pic up eveything!sorry about my spelling i spent way to much time in jazz class then in english class!!
