Made in mid-90s in Germany. 5-piece 34" scale 24 fret maple and wenge or purpleheart neck. It has 2 SD Basslines soapbar pickups run thru a 9 volt 2-band EQ. They are very noisy, but probably offer more punch than the MECs that they use now. It has a satin transparent blue finished solid flamed maple body w/ flush-mount strap locks.
The features I like are the brass frets and brass adjust-a-nut. They give this thing some nice punch. It is a comfortable bass as well.
I hate the fact that it has 1 truss rod. I believe 6 strings are too much tension for 1 truss rod. I am constantly adjusting it with the changes in temperature. The pickups are also very noisy. They are meant for an accuate player. A sloppy player like myself will struggle.

I am playing this bass thru an Eden 410XLT cab and an Eden WT-500 head, so it kinda makes nay bass sound good! The bass does have fairly good acoustic qualities. If a bass pronunciates notes well unplugged, then it is bound to sound good plugged in. I play mostly rock and attempt some Dream Theater, and this bass does it well. It also has a great slap'n'pop tone. I previously had a Yamaha RBX6JM myung model bass, and it had no slap tone whatsoever-just growl. As i mentioned earlier, the pikcups are noisy. That is my only dislike about the sound.
I do wish it had a 3-band EQ rather than 2-band. A mid conrtol would help a lot.
Action, Fit, & Finish

I bought it used from Ebay for $700 shipped. I liek my action very low, but I can't get it as low as I would like because of the single truss rod. That one truss rod allows the neck to twist just a little bit, so my high G and C strings buzz if at the same height as the rest of the strings. The gold hardware shows no tarnishing, and the oiled neck (I think) has held up against dirt and grime. The volume pot was very scrathy when I got it, and it needed a lot of cleaner to get it to stop.

I haven't 'gigged' w/ this thing so I can't give any advice on its roadworthyness. The finsish is a bit thin. I put a small dent in it accidentally from bumping it very lightly against a chair. The recessed strap buttons are great unless you forget your strap. Then you have to sit. It is dependable unless the weather is changing. This bass hates changes in humnidty and cold to hot. I'm not sure if I would gig with this w/out a backup. If it had dual truss rods, I definitely would.

I have been playing for 6 years. I have owned/currently own a Tobias Growler 4 (w/ Bartolini quad coil), 2 Yamaha RBX6JMs (Myung Sig.), a Tune 4 string (awsome bass), A Tobias Toby Pro 6 string, and many many others. This bass caompares to the Tobias Growler as far as punch and tone. The birdge is made of several chunks of solid brass. This can make the bass heavy if you're not used to a heavier bass.
The only thing I wish this bass had was dual truss rods, and a 3-band EQ.
