this bass is a hand made bass in Germany...if the dealer is a carefull dealer so you'll got a perfect bass and you will feel respected and you will show respect to what you will see when you touch a Warwick instrument. It is made with great respect and after all it has plenty of smart components to make your instrument like you want too!

Reliability/Durability : 10
Like I said .. it is made in Germany and it will last maybe more then I - if I take a little care of him.

I'm certainly not disapointed by my choice, and I tried a lot of expensive basses.

This is a 2006 german made bass. It has 24 bell brass jumbo frets (34" scale), volume control with push/pull pot to put the bass into passive mode (very handy), active 2 band eq and pickup blend as well as 2 3-way mini toggle switches to give any configuration of the 2 humbucker pickups required (series/parallel/single coil). The body is made of a thin veneer of ekanga sandwiched between two pieces of swamp ash with a natural oil finish and the neck (bolt on) is made of maple with a wenge fretboard. It comes with a premium gig bag, and a big folder type thingy containing strap locks, beeswax, cloth, truss rod tool and allen keys to fit the adjustable nut. It's a very very pretty looking bass and extremely versatile. One thing I have noticed is this bass is very light for a Warwick. Possibly the lightest Warwick I have played.

I play in a metal band but a lot of my bass playing is centred around slap and fast scalic type playing. I use an Aphex Bass Xciter into a Hartke HA3500 head with 4x10 cab and it sounds just amazing. It has the usual thunderous low end that you associate with Warwick and the slap sound is absolutely stunning. Incredible bite and clarity and the range of tones is second to none. The only improvement on this would be a mid range control on the bass eq but I have the Aphex and my amp to play with so there is so much spectrum for different tone. It really makes you stand out live. My guitarist uses a Gibson SG Standard through a 100W Framus Dragon and he cranks it like you wouldn't believe but he can never hide the incredible sound that this thing gives off. Not found anything I dont like yet.

My only qualm was the action is ever so slightly high and the strings didn't feel totally fresh - but this bass was sent to me by mistake instead of the Corvette $$ which is inferior and I don't even think it's possible to get hold of the Streamer $$ in the UK without a fight. Finish on the bass isn't really in question as it is just natural however, beeswax is supplied to keep it looking tip top.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
It comes with Warwick strap locks which feel very heavy which can only be a good thing. I guess with lots of live playing the finish may get a little grubby - we will have to see how well the beeswax protects it but I can't see any reason why it wont last. It looks like it has been built to the usual high standard.

I sent Warwick a few questions about some other stuff before I made the purchase and they were very quick to respond to me with accurate information and some good suggestions and that's the only dealing I have had with them.

I got rid of a Stingray to get this. In retrospect it was a better move than I could ever have imagined it to be. This thing wipes the floor with the Stingray. If someone knicked it, they would die screaming with sharp things in their head. The sound is incredible I just wish it were a bit heavier but thats what happens when you change from a MM Stingray and you play lots of other Warwicks which always tend to be heavy. That is down to it being made from swamp ash though. Mid on the eq would be nice but I have enough control as it is so no complaints really. Looks and sounds absolutely fantastic!
