This FNA jazzman was build in 2003. It's got a gorgeus natural finish, with a flame maple cap on a bubinga body. The neck is ovangkol with a wenge fingerboard. I got it with a Warwich Rock bag, but have since upgraded to a hardshell case for better protection.

Sound : 10
This thing is capable of pretty much any sound I want. I've used it live many times just plugging directly into the club's mixer board, and it sounded better that way than going through my amp.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The bass was set up almost perfectly. I had a bass tech check it out and lower the action a little, but I have them do that with every bass I buy anyway, so that was no big deal.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I've used this bass many times without a backup, even through out of town shows, and it's never let me down. Not once. I replaced the strap buttons with Schaller straplocks, for ease of use in getting the strap on and off rather than having any issues with the buttons that were on it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've never had to deal with customer support in the two years I've had the bass.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for twenty years, and this is one of most enjoyable basses to play that I've owned. I've bought and sold other basses even while I've had this one. I would definitely buy this one again, without a doubt.

Mine is 2003 model. Awesome natural oil finish. Figured maple top on ash body. Mine has an MEC 3 band active EQ plus active bypass. Ovankol neck, wenge fingerboard, A J style pickup in the neck position and an Musicman style pickup in the bridge position. The neck is the best I've played. It comes with wax, tools, a great gig bag, which I prefer to a hardshell case, manuals, etc.

Sound : 10
First of all, it's super quiet. Even in the single coil mode (the neck J pickup plus one coil of the MM style pickup), it's quiet. It can sound like a J on steroid, a P or a Stingray. Very versatile. Yet, it retains famous Warwick growl and warmth. With active bypass on, pickups sound more biting - very suitable for Geddy Lee or Squier tone.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I always set up my basses and guitars **by myself**. How can someone else feel like I do? The factory setup was good, but I lowered pickups and strings a little bit, and now the bass feels perfect.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Built like a tank.

Customer Support : 10
Warwick has the best customer support in the industry. Period.

Overall Rating : 10
I've owned and own a Fender Jazz bass, a Fender American Deluxe Jazz bass, an Ibanez SR-3000e Prestige bass, a Warwick Corvette Standard, a Fender Japan P-bass. This is the best bass I've ever bought.

My FNA-Jazzman is a '99-Model from the first Series. It has an Ash Body with flamed Maple-Top and an Ovankol-Neck with 24 Frets as usual.MEC 3 way active preamp with push-pull volume pot activates seymor duncan slap contour preamp. Mode selectable MEC humbucker Music man style in bridge-position (series, parrallel & single coil). MEC jazz pickup in the neck-position. But in fact this many features I doesn't really need or use, for me the sound is the important thing.

Although I'm not the "warwick-fan"-type, I'm very glad with the sound of my bass. In my opinion, this bass can be used for nearly all kinds of music-styles...it's very variable! I use it in my rockband and my jazzcombo and it'fits perfectly.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
I had some problems with the adjustment of the bridge-pick up and the Bridge. I just could not get these parts low enough so that I could play comfortably...in my opinion, the manufacturer "Warwick" should improve these parts...Let me tell you that here in Germany (Warwick's Home), many Bassplayers i have talked to, told me that the Quality of warwick basses was much better years ago. Warwick isn't that popular in Germany anymore...

Reliability/Durability : 10
...once adjusted this bass works really good. never had problems with it on stage, and the tuning is very stable even if you play different tunings in one set.

Customer Support : No Opinion

This is a very good sounding Bass...but I just wanna warn you to be carefully when you choose your Warwick...If you got luck you get a killer instrument, if you don't you get problems.
Sorry folks but I also must tell you that this will not be my last bass, i like it very nuch but there are much better instruments available..

I bought it brand new 2003 model, with a natural oil finish but otherwise it was stock. it came with a nice gig bag, a truss rod and other tools, and a can of warwick finishing wax.

Sound : 10
The was the second jazz bass i had played (the other being a fender) and they just dont compare. this bass can definately be used for any music style, and i personally use it for rock stuff. the sound can go from warm lows and bright highs to an overall tight twangy sound. i am a big fan of the warwick "growl" which we have all heard of and this bass is no exception to having that.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
the action was excellent when i got it, although the pickups were loose and needed to be tightened. the finish is overall beautiful but from the way the wood was cut it looks as if there is a defect on one of the horns, although there actually isnt.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
everything seems like it will be good in the long run, but i have only had this bass for about 2 months now so i cant judge it.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 9
overall it is a great bass and would definately buy another one, warwick just makes great basses. their infinity bass looks really nice, but i havent had the chance to hear it in person.

This bass was made in 2002, in Germany. It has four strings, and 24 bell brass frets. My bass is a custom model. It has an ash back with a AAA quilted maple top and high gloss blue finish. The neck is made of ovankol, 3 peices, and the tuners are Warwick(like Gotoh). It has the Warwick 2 peice bridge, fully adjustable, adjustable nut(graphite), and of course passive MEC pickups, H/J. The jazz is cool. The active electronics mix nicely with the passive pickups. Gig bag and case. 9 because I like more body contours.

Sound : 9
This bass sounds AMAZING. It has the famous Warwick woody sound, but the jazz pickup gives it a little twang. I play funk(slap style), rock, and jazz. It is great for all of those. There is only one sound that I can't seem to get out of it. I wanted a very thick warm bassy sound, but if I turn the treble down or the jazz off, it sounds muffled(which can be cool sometimes). Otherwise a very versatile bass that cuts through the mix. Also, for some odd reason, it sounds incredible in the studio. Maybe I need new amps.(I play through a peavy 1x10 in practice and a Crate 1x15 live)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
This particular bass came with the action a little high. Easily fixed. Otherwise, everything else was good. The finish....INCREDIBLE!!!! The quilted maple rocks, very figurative, and the blue makes it look like the ocean!!! I am very pleased in this category. No flaws.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I haven't thrashed this bass yet, and I might not considering the money. But, it has held up very well. The chrome hardware will definately last, the strap buttons are very good. I dont have a backup yet, but I see no immediate need for one. It is like a tank!! I barely need to adjust it. The only thing not durable is the high polish finish. Where I pop the D and G string, there are little hairline scratches(barely noticeable) but I am a perfectionist when it comes to my baby.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never needed it.

Overall Rating : 9
I have been playing for 3 years, but I am a very serious bassist, and I spend most of my time playing and studying bass. I have played on a Warwick Thumb, and I am almost sure that it will be my next purchase. I love the sound on this bass, but I do wish that it was a little more comfortable to wear. Get a Warwick!!!!!!!!!

Ash body, flame maple top with ovankol neck. MEC BEQIII 3 way active preamp with push-pull volume pot activates seymor duncan slap contour preamp. Mode selectable MEC humbucker Music man style in the bridge selector switch (series, parrallel & single coil). MEC jazz pickup in the neck. Blue satin finish. ROCKBAG, tool kit included. Made in Germany. late 02 model. 34" scale neck. Compleat control of string height at bridge and neck, string spacing, bridge height. The only draw back is the passive pickups. This however is no problem for my playing. You could not find a bass with more features.

Sound : 9
Well suited to almost all playing styles. It is posable to get a compleat mulitude of sounds, with the rest you can tweek with the amp. That true active sound though can not be acheived.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Factory set up was good. But if you are not happy it all can be changed to suit. I have always strugled to find a bass the is constructed as well as this one is.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I have no forseable drama's with this bass. It is however a good idea to get the black hardware, as I did. Gold hardware never lasts.

Customer Support : No Opinion
You get a one year warranty, I can not see me using it though. I have not had the privledge of dealing with warwick though.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for seven years and have not played or seen a better bass, I have tried the though of paying this much has put me off until now. It very much suits a player that like a small bass and rock solid construction.

Ash body, flame maple top with ovankol neck. Basslines 3 way active preamp with slap contour. MEC humbukcer in the bridge with series, parrallel & humbucking switch. MEC jazz pickup in the neck. Natural oil finish. Came with great ROCKBAG, tool kit and wax. Made in Germany. late 99 model. 34" scale neck!

Sound : 10
This bass sounds great, it has so many sounds and so far I can not dial up a bad tone. It has a very well rounded tone that is suited to all styles. The versatile EQ helps you call many sounds and the pickup switching is so versatile. I have only used live but cant wait ot record this beast. My only critcism here is there is no active bypass like other warwick bass guitars but no major deal!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Bass set up needed some attention as did the pickups. This bass was perfectly made with no quality issues at all like I encountered on my Musicman Stingray. The attention to detail is something else!

Reliability/Durability : 10
I am sure this bass wil stand up to all things I ask of it. The hardware wont stay like new as its gold but that happens on any bass with gold hardware. I could have had chrome or black hardware at no extra cost but did not want to wait any longer. The finish is natural and stays stromnger with regular waxing. I feel safe to play this bass with no backup until I can buy another bass (WARWICK FOR SURE!)

Customer Support : No Opinion
Not as of yet!

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for 5 years. I own various amps and a Custom Shop P-bass. I just traded my Musicman 5 string to buy this Warwick and its the best move I made. This bass can sound similar to a Jazz bass or Stingray but with the Warwick punch and killer tone!
