All Features listed. In a Transparent Red Finish, White Pearloid Pickguard. Since the bass is a semi hollow body, the lightness of it, is a huge factor for me. 5 string as well.

Sound : 10
I play a number of different styles, what ever comes up, Funk, Fusion, Motown, Rock, Blues, Jazz, Metal (not anymore), but i get thrown in numerous situations and this bass gets carted along 9 outta 10 times, unless its something that involves a lot of slap - but thats because of the string choice. But with Rounds it copied the sound of Stu Zender, Marcus and Jaco all well, with Flats, Paul Jackson, Jamerson, Great upright tone.

This bass has been great since ive had it (coming up on a year now). Being someone who loves gear, this baby still stands out to me when playing basses, even though it was made 9 years ago, it still keeps up with the newer warwicks, even though its something different from the warwick norm, especially in the sound. With Rounds, you get a really nice Stu Zender/Marcus tone outta the front pickup (more like a P), then Marcus (once again) and a Jaco Bite outta the rear pickup, then a really really warm and almost upright tone outta the front with the tone rolled off. Its probably one of 'the' most versitile basses ive played. Im currently using the bass with Thomastik Jazz Flats and getting a big Jamerson tone outta the front pickup and still a Jaco tone outta the back.

As for Amps, i play through a number at both home and Uni (GK, Fender, Harkte, Peavey), this bass sounds good through them all.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
This bass was setup by a mate and its a great setup on the bass, super low action with no buzz, but even with flats and the action raised to let them breathe, still very little buzz.

This bass holds its tuning pretty well, there would be times where i wouldnt play it for a couple of weeks and it wouldnt have moved in tuning.

The finish is second to none, still looks as good as when it came out of the factory.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This bass has survived almost a decade now and i can see it surviving for a lot longer yet, both in live and studio use - great recording bass. Probably the most dependable bass in my lineup at the moment and oldest. With flats on it, i dont take a backup, with rounds i would, just incase, but rarely needed, unless different tuning was required.

Customer Support : 10
Never dealt with them with a problem, but had a few queries, within 2 hours, a email was fired back with all my questions answered + a manual, couldnt ask for more (Especially time difference - Australia and Germany).

Overall Rating : 10
Ive been playing for 7 1/2 years now. Ive owned 5 basses since ive been playing, (2 4's, 2 5's and a 6string) and thats gonna be changed again soon - in search of the perfect setup (Theres no such thing :P, but i do have my perfect passive 5 string).
Id search around if this bass was stolen and either beat the bastard who took it or search the world for one (Only 7-800 made worldwide).
Couldnt ask for much more out of this bass, if i wanted a active version, id look to the Fortress one, but for looks, vibe and tone, this ones is a keeper.

Made in 1996, Germany. 24 bell brass frets, and brass nut. Three piece wenge neck, wenge fretboard. Lightweight ash body, dark honey stained. The Flashback is unusual for a Warwick, in that it has three MEC "lipstick tube" pups, a twin set near the bridge, and a single one at the middle. It also has a large aged pearloid pick guard, giving the bass a vintage look. One volume, one tone, and a pan knob with center detent. The elec. are passive, and the twin pups at the rear give this Warwick even more growl than my Corvette and my Fortress One. All hardware is standard Warwick stuff, which of course is great quality. The ash body makes this Warwick extremely lightweight for a Warwick, 7 1/2 pounds.

Sound : 10
The Flashback suits my playing style well, finger picking, jumped up blues, boogie, anything with a persitant groove. Surprisingly, it has a wider spectrum of tones than my other Warwicks. I can get a deep P bass tone or a Jaco bite. I go for the in between stuff. I use tube driven preamp stages into an 1800 watt power amp, feeding two Avatar B212 cabs. Very thick and throaty sound with this rig. The Flashback has the signature Warwick sound, along with a brighter element due to the lipstick pups. It is not noisy at all.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Got it used, but its a Warwick, which means great fit and finish.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Its a Warwick, it will last. Mine has recessed strap locks.

Have had no reason to contact Warwick, but I've heard good things about their customer service.

Been playing since 1970. I have a few G&L's, and a few Reverend basses(great sound). If my Flashback were lost I would look for another, probably with no luck. I've only ever seen one other for sale. I dont think many were made, and the Flashback was discontinued years ago. Being so odd, they probably never really caught on. This is one reason I like it so much. A great bass, probably collectable by now. If you see one for sale, snatch it!

Not sure of the year, as I recently bought it off of eBay. It has a swamp ash body with wenge neck and fingerboard, 24 bell-brass frets, "just-a-nut" brass nut, pearloid pickguard, passive single and dual jazzbass MEC lipstick pickups, volume, pan, and tone controls w/coil tap. Recessed schaller straplock system.

Sound : 10
Passive, for me, has always been the way to go. I play in melodic rock and folk bands, and I can get any tone I want out of this. The wenge neck adds a lot of mids, beefing things up.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
As it is used, it has noticeable signs of wear, however I really lke the pearloid pickguard, which has aged very nicely. The bass looks like it is at least 20 years old.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
There should be no problems playing this bass live. It weighs in at 11 lbs., and should require very little upkeep (unlike active basses).

I've been playing for 17 years, and I own more gear than I could possible list. My "dream bass" is a custom 6-string Stambaugh that I've had for a year now. Although it is gorgeous and absolutely the best for recording, it's heavy as a mother. I wanted to have a similar 4-string that could be used for live performance. I was looking for a slimish neck and body style in a passive bass, and this one fit the bill. I have wenge necks on two other basses, so I knew I was gonna love it from the start.

I would definitely replace if it were ever stolen.
