You can get just about any bass sound that there is! It can go from slap-bright to hip hop-boomy to rock-growly to country-mellow. It really shines for metal/progressive style; it cuts through the mix at any volume. If you want to be the main attraction to you band, this would be the bass to get, tone-wise.
The pickups and preamp are dead quiet. The 18volt preamp allows a very full spectrum of tonal choices. In a live setting, this bass will allow you to quickly and easily dial in any tone, including its own, natural, growly, punchy, in-your-face tone. In the studio, you will find that its complete lack of noise will help you to get perfect tone in your tracks all day.

It came from the factory with an industry standard setup (6/64" from top of 12th fret to bottom of E string). There was a very tiny amount of fret buzz; the neck needed a slight truss rop adjustment. It has not needed any other kind of adjustment in almost a year. Bear in mind that I live in northern USA where the climate changes constantly. The pickups were set to a very good height. No adjustment was needed there. In all, the bass has NO flaws. I very carefully inspected the bass for any imperfections--there were none. I can easily see why this is the top of the line Warwick.
Reliability/Durability

Not only is the bass beautiful, but it's probably the most durable bass that I have ever owned. Everything on it is rugged and seemingly indestructable. Though I love satin finishes, a lacquer finish would have been a great way to avoid scratching the wood, though.

Warwick has treated me very fairly in the past. They've even given me a few free parts.

I cannot imagine a nicer production bass. This one does it all. It's the most comfortable bass to play. It looks amazing and original. You really can't go wrong. I have owned Fenders, Gibsons, MusicMans, G&L's, Rickenbackers, Peaveys, Nordstrands, and other Warwicks--this one sits at the top.
