Features : No Opinion
Made in China, 24 Frets, natural gloss finish wood body, 2 passive MEC soap-bar pickups, 5 strings, Rosewood fretboard.

Sound : 10
I use a bridged Carlsbro 400 Watt PA amp, 18 inch 650 Watt Eminence pro speaker driver in a 260L box tuned to 28 Hz and a few FX pedals. The B string growls when picked, but when fingered with a little damping, it sounds real deep and warm when compared to the E string - so this was a pleasant surprise. The overall output is quite low, but with a preamp, it seemed to kick the sound into life. With this set up, the bass sounds nice, not too bright, not too muddy - although with given pick up settings, it can do. When 'slapped', the thing takes off - particularly on the B string.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I had to lower the action slightly, and the tonation was a little out on the G string, but not worth adjusting - I don't really use it. The neck was set up well - no fret buzzing, no bad bowing or arcing. The finish is just about OK, but the balance of the guitar on the strap is real nice, and it looks right wearing it rather than looking at it in the upright position. Never the less, this bass is quite inexpensive, so it's not an issue.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Not much to go wrong, but the body wood is a little soft and so it can't take too many hits. The pots are a bit small and they spun a bit if over adjusted, so this is not for heavy hands. However, with care, this should last a good few gigs because the rest is quite solid. The strap locks are a must - such a good idea.

Not tried it - I'll do my own repairs if need be.

Brand new and got a great deal at Guitar Center. This is 5 string 2 pu model and it is sweet, especially for the $$$. This guitar is a very good value.
