Sound from this baby has everything from deep jazz to a rock growl. Its honestly the most versatile bass I have ever played
I play it through a trace elliot and as I do coers from eerything from rock to soul its the perfect beast for me
Action, Fit, & Finish
:

The action and feel are fantastic as you would expect of a high end european made instrument. The action and finish are exquisite and as long as a I wax it and lemon oil the fretboard regularly I can't see tha changing
Reliability/Durability

Its built like a tank and will with care last a lifetime if not a few.
I fitted custom strap buttons to match the rest of the gold hardware
You can buy any replacement part easily from the warwick website shop, including controls, bridges, nuts, electrics etc etc
Customer Support

As above the warwick service is second to none. there custom shop in my opinion is the best in the world and buying any replacement parts is a doddle as I mentioned above

It took me a while to get used to the neck profile but once I had worn into it I can't see my self ever playing anything other than a warckick. I treat this one like a baby and there is absolutely no chance of it ever getting stolen unless they saw it out of my arms
Someone swapped this with me for a Nintendo WII, the guy must have been on psychotropic drugs at the time

2006 Streamer LX4 in Honey Violin. Made from two pieces of maple, with ovangkol neck and wenge fretboard from memory. Active, with a jazz pickup in bridge and humbucker in the neck. Came with a premium line rockbag, couple of manuals, tools, and a massive Warwick shirt. More of a tent really...
Suprised that a bass of this quality didnt come with a hardcase.
Sound
:

I like the massive range of sounds available. With a pickup blend, high cut/boost, low cut/boost and a contour switch, you'll always be able to get a sound perfect for you. I wish it had a mid boost/cut tho....
Anyway, the famous Warwick growl, that can get mellow or harsh depending on what setting you've got.

I sell basses for a living, and this is very probably one of the finest playing basses I have ever had the pleasure of trying. After a 10-second adjustment of the truss rod, it was absolutely PERFECT.

I've got a fair amount of gear (including a P-bass, USA strat and a gorgeous classical) and this is far above any of them. If it was stolen, the bastard had better run fast and run far. Worth every cent, and then some.

Second hand warwick bought from ebay. no idea when it was made, look brand new however, it is a natural finish flamed maple body, bolt on maple neck. 4 strings with MEC gold pickups, new recessed strap locks. i has one p and one jazz pickup. all the other features are standard with any streamer lx
Sound
:

sounds like an untamed beast! the strings i got were very old and i replaced them with d'addario xl's and they growl! i use this though my ashdown abm evo II head and an 8X10 ampeg cab, the combimations i killer, i also own a vette standard, together the stramer and the vette the tone capabilities are limitless.

the action when i got it was very high!! i think it was a good cm of 2 off the neck!!!! however i have adjusted to my height and it is a dream to play. the pickup positioning is just right
the bass had a couple of dings, one small dent behind the jazz style pickup and one very very minute dent on the back of the headstock. apart from that it looks brand spaking new.

I have only had ot for a month or so and it has not givn me any problems, as i know the owner before me experienced no problems with it either. And as far as warwicks go they are built like tanks. so hopefuly i will have no problems with it.

My Streamer is a 2005 model that i bought second hand on e-bay. may as well have been brand new though. Its a beauty. Definatly one of the best looking basses out there,if you like compliments get it with gold hardware. My model has a cream finish which is as tough as tyson in a forest of ears, not a scratch or a dent in a year.
The bolt on neck is a beauty to play, its very chunky, i mean very chunky, thick as jessica simpson. It may not be to everyones taste. everyone will love the beautiful wood used though, stunning is the only way to descripe it. I think it's wenge or ovengal.
The EMG pickups are good, not outstanding but they do the job without complaint. A set of P bass pick ups and a J bass pickup is the Configuration used. The controls a breeze to use and its quite instinctive as to what does what. Theres a pickup blend, a hi pass filter and a lo pass filter, any sound you want is yours.
Active electronics are almost a must on all new basses and the streamer LX's setup is sweet, the only problem with the electronics is the push/pull selector which switches between active and passive electronics. One would think being able to switch to passive would be a lifesaver, say if your battery dies, problem is the passive electronics do not work on a flat battery, so thumbs down there.
The two piece bridge not only looks stunning but is one of the most adjustable bridges i have ever seen. Any which way you like your bass it can be adjusted with an allen key(supplied) in a flash.
The adjust-a-nut 2 is awesome. now you can, pretty obviusly, adjust the nut in a jiffy, with the strings still on. again using the same allen key.
Everything else: tuners ect are excellent quality. The battery enclosure is really simple to get at, no fiddling with screws so its as easy as pie to change the battery in the heat of the moment.
It Comes in a gig bag which is really excellent quality.

I play a wide range of music, rock, funk, metal, blues, prog and this bass handles everything without any problems. I also have a Fender Precision which i rarely use. The warwick is all i need. Even Hooked up to my dieing berhinger bx1200 it sounds sweet. I'm using a marshall Guv'nor at the moment which really sounds mean.
Its got huge variety, as well as that famous warwick growl you can dial in some great slapping tones, some awesome high end that remarkably lacks that high end buzz as well as the best least muddy low end boom i'v ever heard. when the battery starts to go however which is every couple of months it sounds very weak so keep a spare battery handy always. I haven't used it in the studio but live its a dream.

I bought mine second hand so the setup was probably done by the previus owner. the finish however was flawless. no complaints here. over time however the brass hardware oxisises and one needs to polish the hardware to get it gleaming again. It does look stunning though.
Reliability/Durability
:

Solid as a rock. not a nick in a year of playing, not a loose wire. the only wear and tear i'v experienced is the paint rubbing off the pickups. they don't say emg on them anymore. Shock horror. It Comes with straplocks that are fairly solid. never dropped a strap. one of the buttons did come loose but that was ficked with a turn or two of the screwriver. I always use it without backup at a gig. I have absolute faith in my Streamer.

I asked warwick in an email, the best way to look after my bass, the woods and brass hardware especially. nevr got a reply. it's a good thing this bass is solid as a rock as i do not really want to have to deal with warwick.

Flawless. i love it, who needs a girlfriend when youve got a beauty who doesn't complain, nag, spend money or withhold playing with it.

Not too sure of date it was made...got the high pass, low pass, pick up blend, and volume (which pulls out to switch to passive mode, MEC pick ups, natural oil finish. I give it a nine as its the first active bass where its been instinctive of what knob to turn.
Sound
:

I've been playing for about 3+ years, and I have played many a bass (my dream is to inherit my uncles fretless maton...ooo thats good)but damn does this have tone! It suits my ideal tone - punchy, full, lots of well defined low-end (too much at times - theres been more than a few times its made huge amps fart away without doing anything too extreme with amp settings)Many have commented on the warwick growl coming through. For a cheap way of switching 'tween slap sound and normal, just pull out the volume knob, the passive mode does an adequate job of it

Bought it 2 years ago new for an absolute STEAL, and ever since then I've changed battery twice and never changed the factory set-up, was perfect straight away. A couple of bassists who also own warwicks have commented on how fast the neck is. As its got a natural oil finish, it kinda gets ingrained with a bit of blood sweat and tears, especially if you play finger style as I do.Like others have said, you KNOW when this bass has chosen you...you'll walk on water to get it (sorry, I'm in love with this bass)

Would and have played a gig without back-up; only thing to get worried about is whether you'll break a string (which is, thankfully for us bassists, once in a blue moon. I hammer crap outta this bass, and have done for about 2 years straight and I haven't had a SINGLE problem with it.Strap locks are good once you get them on your strap...but that itself takes a wee while. Vey stable though

I love the warwick growl...if your band wants a better sound then buy this, gives you tight low end and as you'll be DI-ed a lot of the time unless you've got a beeeuuuutiful amp you can't bear anyone to miss hearing, you can adjust the on-board eq to suit.
If anyone dared to steal this bass...I'd cry for a very long time, search wildly for another, then declare war on the b**tard that took it

Mine is a 1993 streamer (I think....dont have it on hand to check), 24 frets.
Got the warwick-standard MEC active pickups on it.
Everyone else has run thru the standard settings, so Im not gonna :)
I cant think of anything I'd add to this bass features wise, and everything works amazingly, so this gets a 10.

This is a fantastic sounding bass. I mostly play very, very heavy and agressive music, and mostly with 7-string guitarists in the mix with me, so to really hit those low notes, I restrung and reset the bass with some very heavy strings, and now play it in 5 string standard tuning (BEAD). This bass stands up to this challenge perfectly!
This is quite honestly the best sounding bass Ive come across, and Ive been playing bass for 6 years now, and on a number of high-end instruments.
I play this bass thru a Behringer stack, and it has a fantastic 'shape' function, which give me the most amazing slap tones...very sharp and funky, without compromising on the low end.

This bass may as well be custom made for me.
Only problem is that the oiled wood finish does tend to collect finger grime around the controls, and also under the strings.
Everything is totally adjustable, and if something doesnt fit you perfectly, that can be rectified.

I bought my Warwick in Canada in 1991 .
I paid $2000 Canadian
This was picked after a long search for a new bass when mine was stolen .
I was watching a rock band in Thunder Bay and loved the bass sound out of the mains .
During the break I asked the bassist what he was playing . Warwick Streamer.
The next week I bought one and have been unable to find a bass I like more since .

Big bass with EMG's .Now I'm not a big EMG fan but the sound with active pickups is tits.
I always run my volume control on full and middle the setting of the bass. So it's a full neutral signal.

Just one component wore out in 13 years . the quarter inch input plug had to be reaplaced with a Swtchcraft one . Simple but my luthier was reluctant to drill a bigger hole for the input plug .
So it's been working fine for about 8 years now.

Well after 13 years I've decided not to get a new five string and invest in PA gear instead. This bass is so reliable, sounds so good , why mess with it .
I'm still trying different strings on it .
I'm VERY pleased with my Warwick.

Awsome tone. Sounds great in variety of musical styles (Rock, blues, rockabilly, jazz). My rig is a GK 700RB head with a Hartke 4x10 cab and a Peavey 1x15 blackwidow cab. Does just about every sound except that fat humbucker slap tone. The only negative I have is I managed to strip the head of one of the string intonation adjustment screws because I was in a hurry and used a screw driver that was a little too small. I wish these screws were a little more heavy duty.

This bass just felt right in my hands from day one. Yeah I did the usually tweeks to the truss rod, bridge, and pickup heights. Nothing out of the ordinary, but it did seem like we moved that truss rod quite a bit.
This bass remains in great shape after three years of abuse.

I've been playing for twenty years. I've got six guitars, a Parker Fly, a home made Telecaster clone, an Ovation acoustic, a Fernadez travel guitar, a carved top Upright acoustic bass and my Warwick. I have no regrets about buying this bass. If it were lost or stolen, I'd cry and save my pennies for another Warwick Streamer. I'd probably go with a five string Warwick Streamer Jazzman. I love the way this bass feels in my hands. It feels like it was custom made for me. It just felt right from day one. The action is great and the tone is awsome. I've had a Fender Mustang, a Yamaha BB300, an Alvarez, and my Upright bass. This is my favorite electric bass by far (the upright is in a class of it's own). I'm shopping for a second bass because I want a bass with humbucking pickups. The Warwick will probably remain as my main axe, but sometimes you need that fat humbucker tone.

The Streamer LX 4 has been my bread and butter for two years now. The first thing I noticed was how beautiful it was acoustic from when I picked it up in the store. It has a rich/full sound, very mellow. i can go from a round tone to a snappy tone with a twist of the eq. it is better for the studio- used it a few times in the studio and it sounded awesome. i went straight to the board using a sansamp bass driver and a bass pod, sounded great.

absolutely beautiful finish, no flaws except for the 'adjust-a'nut'. the crappy plastic tabs snapped off while i was restringing her. that sucked ass, warwick had to send a new nut. otherwise - everything is sturdy, and beautiful

this bass will and has withstand a lot of pressure - i play hard and i have beat the crap out of my streamer lx, but it keeps surprising me and plays great always.the strap buttons are a pain but they are solid and i can definitely depend on it. when the neck moves - which it doesnt much - it is very easy to fix. i would use it on a gig without a backup and if somebody stole it, i would kill them.

oh boy, this is were it gets bad. no emails ever. sometimes they are nice on the phone, sometimes they arent. but what the worst thing is - they never respond to their emails. i have sent numerous emails to them concerning the bass, not once have they written back. i wonder if anyone has had the same problem. on the phone - when you get a nice person, its great and no problem to work with them, but when you get an angry person, theyre impossible. heres where the points go down.
