Streamer Stage II 4 stringer build 1998 (bought it second hand, i am the third owner)
Afzelia body, Wenge Neck and fretboard 2 j-style pickups (MEC), 3 way electronics (MEC), Straplocks, Yin-Yang position markers, standard Warwick gold hardware.
This one is the so called Stained High polish finish color: bourgundy red.
Body is perfectly shaped (shape is patented by Ned Steinberger) and perfectly balanced

Sound : 10
I bought this bass because i knew the sound from the Jamiroquai albums (mainly 2 and 3, the ones played by Stuart Zender) and i knew well before: i want that sound!, that's exactly what i got. the SSII sounds are versatile (from old school p-bass sounds to high tech funk and metal sounds) and driving. I can tell; this bass is so good because of all the positive remarks i get from public when i play it live and from the jaw drops i have seen several times with music technicains in studios.

The eq is good but has got one con; a slight hiss when you dail in high. For the rest is has got enormous push or cut in tone control which i hardly use because the initial sound is so good to start with.

This bass can deliver all kinds of bottom for practically all kinds of music provided the bass does not have to sound acoustic.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Action was right but i bought this bass second hand, this bass has no dead spots and plays beautifully, the neck is exactly right for me (not too thin and not too thick) the finish has got a few dents and scratches but hey! this instrument has seen a lot of action and is ten years old.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This is a Wawick, do i need to say more? i is very durable, feels solid has been build by Germans who are known for their quality and reliability

Customer Support : 10
Never had to contact their customer support. i have bought a few bass parts in their web shop. this was delivered as promised on time and complete.

Aside that i am a frequent visitor of the Warwick Forum and these guys are incredibly helpfull and friendly

Overall Rating : 10
I have had +30 basses since i started playing bass back in 1985 and have never had a bass like this before. i have it for 6 months now, gigged with it and recorded with it and all is equally perfect. with this bass in my hands i feel like a better player and i do things on it i don't do on other basses because this bass invites me to do that! it looks stunning on stage, feels solid, invites me to explore music and is my musical mate! that's what you want from an instrument right?

My SSII is a '92 model. Although 16 years old, it was kept in mint condition and looks just as good as any bass made today. These things are durable, and LAST! Twenty four frets with amazing yin yang inlays. I have yet to see a picture that does the inlays justice, they really are gorgeous. Two MEC active pickups with active/passive switchable electronics via push/pull volume knob and a pickup blend knob. Two band EQ, but newer ones have the three band. Made of afzelia, and my particular older model has a wenge neck supposedly. Now a days they make the SSII with ovangkol I believe. Mine has straplocks, but I can't confirm that newer ones have them. I'd assume they do, but I'm not sure.Made in Germany!

Overall, great looking, and plenty of features. Couldn't ask for more!

Sound : 9
I could see this bass being useful for all sorts of genres. I can dial any kind of sound out of this thing. The active/passive switchable electronics really let you switch around the sound, and the onboard EQ is great. The only "issue" is that the MEC preamps are somewhat notorious for having a slight hiss, which becomes even more exaggerated when the treble is raised. But although the hiss is there, it's not hugely noticeable, and turning the treble up, especially when using a pick, lets you get a great metallic sound out of the bass. I use it on a 150W Carvin Pro Bass amp, and it sounds great. I don't even touch the amp EQ anymore, and my older model only has the two band EQ!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I didn't get mine from the factory, but I know generally speaking these high end Warwicks come pretty much full setup with little or no adjustment needed. Needless to say the person I got mine from already had everything setup, so I had no wories. Pickups are at a perfect height. The bass is BEAUTIFUL! I thought my corvette was beautiful, but this thing just blows it away. The wood, the grain of the fretboard, it's all stunning.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Two words: Rock Solid

Mine is a '92 model, so it should be a living testament to the durability of these basses. It's still in perfect condition, all hardware still intact! And it still looks great! No flaws at all.

Never had to adjust the truss rod before. It gets humid and not humid around here quite a bit, so I may have to eventually, but hey, you have to do it eventually for pretty much all basses.

100% Durable! I'm pretty sure you could drop this thing many times and never have to worry about it (but please DON'T!)

Customer Support : 9
I've never had to contact Warwick or Dana B Goods (the US distributor of Warwicks) but I know they are usually very good with customer service. And if you need questions answered, head over to the Warwick.de forums. Tons of people from all over the world converge to talk about EVERYTHING Warwick!

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing almost two years. I've owned a Yamaha TRB1005, Warwick Corvette 5 String Standard, Warwick Corvette 4 String Fretless, and temporarily used a friend's 4 String Fender Jazz Bass, and I can safely say, this is the best one I've ever played, period. I will NEVER let it go. EVER.

I might consider upgrading to the three band EQ since mine only has the 2 band.

If you want to upgrade your bass, buy this instrument. Don't do it only if you have a Fodera or a Laurus or something that costs more than 5000 euros. Otherwise this is the best choise - And i'm a big spender believe me!

Uber EBS and AMPEG Amps and Speakercabinets.

On Stage or Studio ausgerichtet. Without a backup?: certainly!

Customer Support : 10
Warranty: How long? - I don't know! I think a Lifetime.

Overall Rating : 10
Seit 25 Jahren. I have had all about over 40 Basses.

Features : 10
1987, Hand Made in West Germany
4 strings, frets
Brass Just-A-Nut I
controls: volume, pickup pan, bass, treble
2 J-Pick ups by EMG
Active Electronics by Mec
Afzelia Body with 7 pieces Afzelia(?)/Wenge neck through, Wenge fingerboard
The stripes of the neck should be made of Afzelia, but they look quite different from the body, I'll say they're made of Cherry (used in those days by Warwick, or maple)
Natural finish
Brass Bridge by Schaller
Schaller made tuners
34 scale
Mine was used, with a gig bag (not by Warwick), no truss road wrench

Sound : 10
The sound is simply unbelievable, even if unplugged.
Plugged, it?s a real pleasure to hear. The sound is well articulated, with a low end deeper than you may imagine, but well defined, the growling midrange Warwick neck through are known for, and pronounced, crystal highs.
Great for finger style, nasty for picking, and percussive if slapped, always punchy: I just love how it sounds!
Compared with the 1989 Thumb which I also own, equipped with the same pickups/electronics, the difference is that the Thumb has a darker low-mids growl, while the Stage has deeper lows, and locate its growl more in the midrange. The pickups/electronics reproduces with good fidelity the acoustic sound.
I've to say that it's very distinctive, it?s not a Fender or Music Man clone. With active electronics and 2 pickups it can produce a good variety of sounds, but always with its own voice.
The bridge pickup is very punchy, with an output level equal to the output of the neck pickup, I usually use both them 50-50, somehow changing the balance for fast onboard tweaking while playing.
I always make soundmen happy with this bass.
I run it through my beloved SWR SM 400 S, which is an hi-fi machine that perfectly matches Warwick sound. I've plugged it into many other heads, but even the crappiest can't hide its voice.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
It was used, and I lowered the action to my tastes.
The bass is quite heavy, but balanced perfectly.
The Wenge fingerboard and ???/Wenge neck are a pleasure for my fingers, but can be unfriendly for players who prefer a traditional neck.
Overall it fits my body like a glove, a real masterpiece of ergonomics
This bass was hand made with great attention, it's been around for almost 16 years now, but it's still perfect looking, no single little detail wrong

Reliability/Durability : 10
As I told before it's in great conditions despite beeing 16 years old.The hardware it's ok and the finish is still gorgeousit needs to be waxed (I do it once a month), not a short operation, but i just love taking care of it, and when it's finished it shines and smell damn good too!I got the trussroad adjusted by a technician when I bought it. I have another bass, but I can't call it a backup, my 89 Thumb neck through has same rights as my Streamer Stage II: two main axes, and I choose which to use each time

Customer Support : 10
I often contact Warwick via e-mail, they always respond within few times (no more than a working day), great customer support

Overall Rating : 10
I play bass since 10 years now, and this is my fourth bass, the first was a Ibanez SDGR 800, the second was a Warwick Streamer LX
Actually I also own
1989 Warwick Thumb
SWR SM 400 S
SWR Goliath II 4x10
EBS 15F 1x15
SWR Baby Blue I

I'll never lose it, and no one will steal it, believe me!
Before buying this bass, I had my Thumb and the Streamer LX, the latter being a good bass, but just a poor cousin on the Thumb. Now I?ve two wonderful babies, and I?m one of the luckiest bass players on heart.

Handmade in Germany 1992
5 string neckthru
Body = Afzelia
Neck = 7 piece afzelia/bubinga with Wenge fingarboard
Orginal Bartolini passive pickups and preamp was removed by me and I added MEC Active pickups and MEC preamp

Sound : 10
I play all kinds of music. Mostly Pop/Rock/Funk stuff with both finger style, slapping and tapping and everything sound GREAT.
I run it thru a EBS Gorm 2x10" 350watt Amp. But I've also used and Ampeg V4B + Ampeg 4x10" with this bass. I thing it sounds better with the EBS. Because this bass is a kinda Hi Tech bass I feel that the solid State EBS amp makes the sound clearer and with more punch. And when I played it thru my Ampeg stack I didn't get anuff bottom in the B string it sorta died out. But with my EBS Gorm 2x10" I get the right sound for my style of playing..

The MEC pickups gives the bass the right warwick mid punch and the MEC preamp helps to add the little extra if you play live and don't wanna run to your amp between songs.

I've recorded some songs in diffrent studios with this bass. Then I just simple ran it thru a Bass POD or simple thru a compressor then directly into the mixer.. Both ways sound great. I prefer the direct way, I think the bass pod takes away that wood mid punch that this bass delivers..

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
I bought this bass used. And the neck had got a hit or something once so there was a crack in the neck. This crack ws nothing that worried me tho it was very well fixed at a good Guitar shop.

Like I said before the Bartolini pickups and preamp wasn't in perfect condition so I replaced them with MEC pickups and preamp.

Reliability/Durability : 7
I have this bass strung with Elexir strings and I adjust the bass every time I chance strings (I wear out a elexir set in about 3-4 months I think). Some minor adjustments is of course done some times between the string chance.
The truss rod is never adjusted during the time I've own this bass (about 1 year now)

I think this bass is very reliable, I never use any backup bass for this one. All tho I always have my Warwick Corvette Standard Bubinga 6 string fretless with my.

The only thing bad about this bass is that is kinda heavy.
5.2 Kgs (11.4Lbs) is quiet alot to carry for 3-4 hour gigs.
This lowers the Rating

Customer Support : 9
I've always got the help and support that I've wanted from Warwick.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing bass for about 14 years now.
I really love everything about this bass, I don't think I'm every going to sell it.
Other gear that I own.
Basses:
Warwick Corvette Standard Bubinga 6 str fretless, Warwick Nobby Meidel 4str, Fender Jazzbass -78 (antigua), Warmoth/Allparts Jazzbas with EMG pickups -02, Hagstrom Super Swede -81.

Amp: I only use my EBS Gorm 2x10" (350watt)

Features : 10
Made 2002 in German, custom model.
4 string, 24 bell brass frets.
Afzelia body with next through design, wenge fretboard and wenge stringers.
Standard controls (3 band EQ,stacked knob:bottom knob for pickup selector and top knob which is push/pull for active/passive and turns to adjust volume)
JJ active MEC configuration pickups with BEIII active electronics
As custom features, I got a brass Just-a-nut 2 which allows the string height at the nut to be altered without taking the strings off and I got internal Jim Dunlop strap locks with 2 locks at the bridge end of the neck to alter the neck angle when needed.
Also got a hipshot which allows the E string to be downtuned.
Suprised to find that it came with a proper full flight case worth bout #200 (very heavy duty) and also came with truss rod adjuster tool, surface finisher wax and manuals etc.
Ying Yang inlays in the fretboard came as standard

Sound : 10
Used with Trace Elliot 1210H 4x10. Unbelievably wide range of sounds. Can sound really meaty with a bit of mid and pickup on the front or can sound bright and punchy (for slap). Due to the brass frets and the brand new strings, the bass is incredibly bright and tight for slap.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Everything was brilliant straight from the factory. The action may a been a bit too low but that's because I dig into the strings fairly aggressivly with my fingers, not Warwick's fault. I have heard that some people find the curvature on the back of the bass hard to get used to, i found it very easy, not a big deal. When worn with a strap, it balances perfectly and is a joy to play. The finish was impecable too.

Reliability/Durability : 9
As it is a wood finish, it will inevitably not last as long as varnished basses, but this should not put you off at all. I hate varnished basses as the tone of the wood does not come through adn the feel of the bass is far less pleasent. If you slap, you will probably find that when you pop, you may scuff the wood a bit and eventually cause a few dents, but this just adds to the character of the bass in my opinion - thats life. Everything is built to last on this bass, but dont forget your strap locks when going to a gig as the locks on the bass are internal!!

Customer Support : 2
Sorry but I had unbelievable problems when trying to get my bass. I ordered it through The Bass Centre in London and specified the customisations I wanted. Fair enough. They reckoned it'd take bout 2-3 months to build - fine. I received my bass 6 months later after many calls to the bass centre and to MADMUSIC (UK distributor for Warwick) and it took me a long time to get anywhere. And when I finally receive the bass, the wrong nut is fitted to the bass (they give me the original brass just-a-nut wich cannot be altered without taking the stings off, and they forget to put the second strap lock in at the end of the bass). Basically the only custom job they did was the hipshot. So I have to take the bass back to the warehouse somewhere in the UK and get the customisations actually done. Having said this, they did fully acknowledge their mistake and are being very helpful now.

Overall Rating : 9
In spite of all the problems with Warwick and the bass centre, I love this bass to bits and would replace it instantly if it were stolen. Pretty steep price but worth it without a doubt, I had a look at loads of other basses before this, the mainstream basses e.g. Fender and Musicman and custom shop bass e.g. Sei Basses, this blew them all out of the water. I play mostly funk, rock and blues and this bass can fit itself into all these genres. Plus it looks like a work of art, especially with the thru-neck.

Just got a Streamer Stage II from my wife!!! What does she want? Actually, I saw it in a local shop and drooled over it until it disappeared one day, then I was depressed for a couple of days before getting on with life. Just graduated from University (executive degree program for old people) and voila the bass showed up as a present for graduating.

I've owned Rickenbackers, G&L's, Fenders, Ibanez, and Hagstrom basses over the years. At this time the Warwick kills my G&L and the Rickenbacker. Granted it's the only one with active circuitry but it's more playable and has great sound.

This bass seems to be a 2000 model, fretted, four string. It has an wenge fingerboard with beautiful pearl/abalone fret markers, a contoured afzelia body, and 7 piece neck through construction. The pickups are 2 J style MEC actives with volume/concentric treble-bass/mid/balance contols, MEC active pre-amp with a push/pull on/off swith in the volume control.

It has a 24 fret fingerboard and gold hardware. It is stained emerald green (very dark green) maybe wouldn't be my first pick for colours but it is so dark it almost looks black...which is cool.

The bass doesn't have a mark on it, was treated very well and came with a Warwick hard case.

The neck is a dream to play and it is set up very nicely.

Sound : 9
Using it with an Ampeg V4BH and a Trace Elliot 4-10's and an Ampeg 1-15. Sound is great, lots of tonal range possible with the active electronics. Very transparent, and no electronics noise.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Fit and finish is flawless, and set-up is great. Don't know if this is the original set-up or not. The adjustable neck nut is really cool too.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This bass seems to have held up very well or it was never played before I bought it.

Customer Support : 9
Just sent an email into Dana B. Good to see if I can get the adjustment tools. They do have a great web-site and have downloadable manuals etc. You gotta like that.

Overall Rating : 9
Have been playing off and on for the past 20+ years. Always wanted a Warwick but they were too rich for my pocketbook. The price was right and it is a fabulous bass. If stolen, I'd look for another Warwick provided I could get one at a reasonable price. This thing lists for around $3400 US, and have seen them go on Ebay for around $1500, so I think I got a good deal.
