basic volume and tone controls, but the reverse polarity is really good, when im playing something soft i keep it normal but for punchy rock i like to reverse it, it sounds great

Excellent, i have had my 2001 Streamer for 4 years now and i love it to bits, some people dont like Warwicks but when people say the streamer isnt versatile, well i just laugh at them, i play funk, rock, a bit of blues and it does them all well. And of course its got the "Warwick Growl".

when i switched from my cheap P-bass copy to my streamer standard, well it was like getting out of a 25 year old Austin Maestro and getting into a brand new Merc.the finish action and playability were perfect, not the slimest neck but i definately took my playing from half decent to decent when i got this baby.mine is left handed, i got the french violet oil finish which is great, make sure you beeswax it every 2 weeks if you ever get a warwick wick an oil finish!

never had a problem ever, i put this back in its soft case, carry it around then when i play it again, i'd say 70% of the time its still in-tune, my old bass always went out, i have snapped 3 Gs and wrecked an E string on it, i was playing too hard though and was using 45-100 Ernie Ball Super Slinkys, they came with the warwick strings which i think were 105s so i think im going back to those, as the 100s are a bit light for me.This baby is built in Germany so its great quality.shame they dont make them anymore, the rockbass version is available but its built in korea and im not confident its the ame quality.Warwick Rocks!

very good i guess. well i had to wait 4 months cos they sent over 1 and the shop i bought it from said it was sub-standard , especially for Warwick, so they got back to them about it and they said they would build me another one in their custom shop because of the inconvenience, so i was like um, yea ill wait!!! cost me 500 quid ($900 approx) but being custom i guess its worth atleast twice that much. they stopped making the streamer standard about a year later.

ive been playing 5 years, i wont get another bass cos its everything i want in a bass, people who think that a bass is only good if its $4000 or whatever are wrong theres plenty off good mid price basses out there that are just as good if not better, i may get a 5 string in future but if i do it will be another Warick for sure

My Streamer was made in Germany I think in 1981.
It's a Black Beauty with a thru Neck.
I had my heart broken when my 67 Fender Jazz was stolen and really I concidered stopping playing all together.
I looked and looked for a replacement . But no where did I find something I could hang my guitar strap on .
So one night I'm in a bar in Thunder Bay Ontario and a rock band was playing on stage .
They were good but the bass sound was unbelievable . Thats what I wanted a great sound out of the mains . That sound . I had never heard of
Warwick at that point so off I went after the set to get the low down from the bass player.
Bought one the following week and can replace it even to go to five string . It stays in tune , it is basically flawless.

I play rock, country, jazz and folk.
I like the way it is so easy to adjust. Once I'm playing a gig, I seldom adjust the controls on my amp after sound check. I can usually get what I want for adjustments right on my bass. It's active so it really has a lot of signal.
I run it at full volume and adjust my stage volume with the amp.

It is so easy to play it has allowed me to age and get older and still I can move ariound effortlessly on it .

Replace the factory input jack. It wore out after about 5 -6 years. I had a swtichcraft installed and I've never had trouble since

Well I look at replacing it from time to time . And there is a lot of good product out there now , and cheap.
But if it ain't broke don't fix it .
One happy Streamer player. Good AXe. Reliable bass for gigging steady. Worth the money.

I bought this baby new back in 1990ish, there were only six of them shipped to Australia, this is from the first batch.
It's all natural maple through neck (not bolt-on or set-neck) and gold hardware with MEC (Active/Passive) pickups!!! one/two precision position and jazz bridge position.
Solid Curly Maple body Rosewood FretBoard. pearl dot inlays top and sides.
Unique body contour...fits like a glove.

I have played pretty much every type of bass - Fender P, Jazz, Gibson, Peavy, Ibanez. I currently own Gibson Ripper Fretless, Regal Dobro accoustic resonator because the Streamer bass can emulate all of the other styles there is no room for replicas, so I sold off the others and just kept basses that were unique in sound (fretless & accoustic).
I have recorded with this bass several times in professional studios where the sound engineer has asked me to play the house bass (normally a Fender P 60's) We laid the bass down with the Fender and then I plug in the Warwick and play the same track, guess which one makes the cut - my baby)
I have used the guitar for studio and live gigs it has never let me down. I have not taken a back up guitar to a gig in 20 years.
This guitar has played in Rock, Funk, Jazz, Blues, Pop, Country, Punk and even dance stuff - yes variety is the spice of life.

From the moment I picked it up, it felt great the neck is super thin the action was setup to play straight away...very low and no fret buzz.
Comfort, body contour are all good for standing, sitting and jumping!!!

It will be buried with me...sorry kids you can't have it.
If you know the history of Warwick and Framus you will know that good craftsmanship is passed on down the family line.
This guitar will outlast me, all the hardware is still working and looks great. I could have been a lot kinder to this guitar over the years however guitars like this are work horses and are meant to be used - not just for wall art like so many of my other guitars.

Been playing for about 22yrs, all kinds of music.
If you can afford one buy it...but like most really good guitar makers they can also make the cheaper versions with different hardware, wood types etc.
You will notice that over the years Warwick have mass produced some great guitars and still kept the quality.
During the 1990's many other manufactures copied the style and feel of these basses but none that I have played feel as good or have the versatility of this one...I know thats a big call, but you don't sit here typing when you could be playing unless you feel a little passionate about it.

My baby was made around 85' in Germany, 24 frets, necktrough body construction, one pan, one volume, one bass and one treble control, the volume poti is push pull to bypass the EQ. It has two j-pus made by EMG. The body wings are made of maple and the neck is a 5-pice laminated maple and wenge neck, with a wenge fretboard i think. It was blue, but i took the paint off, so its natural now. The bridge is the standard rock solid warwick two piece bridge. Tuners are made by schaller, like all warwick tuners. The neck is very thin and fast and a pleasure to play

This bass can manage every style, it has a VERY focused sound, with tight lows and a well defined midrange, You can make it sound, like an graphite neck bass, or like an precesion, or whatever you want to sound. So its a very punchy transparent sound, and its a pleasure to modulate teh sound with your finger, cause if you're good at it, you can get any sound without even touch the EQ knobs. Its both a studio and a stage bass, because its not noisy, VERY confortable to play sitting, standin or whatever. Ilike everything on this bass.
i use it with some preamps (SWR interstellar/warwick quadruplet/H&K bassmaster) sometimes synth effects from boss and electro harmonix. I play through 2SWR 2x10 enclousures
I tune down a whole step to D and sometimes to low C ... because of that i have an hipshot M4 tuner on the E string
I changed the whole hardware to gold, which costs me about 200 ?, becaus e i didnt like the black hardware on my natural finished bass *g* and now it looks like a dream
You can slap it pop it fingerstyle and it sound so good you wont believe your ears. I never tried a pick

Well i bought it used so i dont know anything about the factory setup, but i normally setup every bass i buy by myself. You can set the action very very low, because it has a brass nut which can adjust every string exactly. It dont contains any flaws.

The frets are made out of bellbrass, its now about 20 years old and the frets are shining like on the first day ... this bass cant be destroyed

Because iam austrian, i can only tell you about the original(german) support, and i can tell you the warwick staff is very helpful, i once wrote them mails because of a qauestion on their quadruplet preamp ... and the designer of the preamp wrote back personally, and answered EVERY question i had ... so they are VERY nice, and helpfull

I played 6 years guitar and play bass since 1996, i owned a lot of basses, five strings frettless, but i dont need them anymore.
theres nothing to ask about this bass only check if something was broken and fixed by a non professional. It is worth to buy new hardware parts if they are broken. the main thing is the neck body part if thats ok buy it *g*
