Its an active thru body bass with a single humbucker pickup. Vol, bass, treble pots. I guess its body is maple but not sure about it. The neck has 24 frets on a rosewood fretboard.

Sound : 9
It's a good sounding bass. The bass and treb conrolls are quite sensitive, so i can get many distinctive sounds without touching the amp eq. I play funk, rock, pop and it suits my style, but I miss the p or j bass sound. I cant even get close to it. the electronics are fully noise less and give a booming output. I love its punch it cuts tru the mix.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I bought it used, so it was adjusted very well. The neck is extremely comfortable, easy to play all the 24 frets. I have it in natural finish and its very nice, only small flaws on it but its my fault. I only had troubles with the bridge, cause it killed my strings, but after a little trimming its all fine.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Everything is solid on this bass. I tune it once a week but it only gets out of tune because of cold. I play it 3 years now and i didnt even change battery. I gig it a lot and it never had a problem. Very reliable bass.

When i bought it i actually wanted a fender p bass. I tried a few, when i saw this bass in the store. I liked the looks so i tried it on a fender bassman combo. Well i was astonishing compared to the p bass. It has a real growling sound whith the roto strings. So i took it home. I wont sell it ever.

I am unsure what year the bass was made becuase i bought it secondhand from a guitar store. It is a 24 fret 5 string laminated top. The controls are volume, tone, and balance. There are two active pickups; a humbucker and a standard pickup, of which i can no longer tell what they say. I can not tell what wood the bass is made of due to the heavy black finish that covers it. The body style is what I assume is standard for a hammerhead bass. the bridge style is string through and there is a little bit of difficulty to replace the strings. I am unable to tell what the tuners are and they use the buzz feiten tuning system. It takes a little practice to get used to the system. The action is perfect for fast playing while still being able to be used for slower playing. The bass included a custom fitted Washburn hard case and a strange paint job done by the previous owner.

Sound : 7
I like the sound of the bass and it's very suitable formy type of metal playing, which involves low notes. I use a Ibanez phat head bass distortion pedal and a cry baby wah pedal. The bass can be very scratchy sounding if you sit close to the amp. The bass has a very dark sound on the low regester and a bright sound on the high regester. The bass can make certain cracking sounds if the cable is not a monster bass cable. I recomend the bass for stage use but it could be used for recording.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
The bass itself was set up very well but the only comment i have is that the previous owner painted the bass and did not do a very good job. The screws used to hold the pickups in were rusty and the saddle was very loose.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This bass is built like a tank and I think it would be able to last for a long time.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No contact with the company.

Overall Rating : 7
If the bass was stolen I would replace it but not a Washburn hammerhead. There is not much I would say about it except it is a nice bass.

Korean made in 2000, I think. 24 frets, bolt-on neck, 4 strings, solid body of a light-weight wood (basswood or swamp ash -not sure wich)Neck of maple and a rosewood fretboard.... just like all the others above ;)

One humbucker with volume, bass and treble controls. Active electronics.
Black finish and brushed aluminium pickguard.
Graphite nut.
Small body w long upper horn.
String-thru-body bridge, Buzz feiten tuning system,
Grover tuners
34" scale neck, slim and with a matte finish that you won't get stuck on with sweaty hands.

I would have preferred more than a 2-band EQ. and it would have been nice with a separate battery compartment

Sound : 7
Someone here wrote that it sounded too bright, and I couldn't disagree more. The reason I didn't hold on to this bass was only because it sounds a bit muffled. It is absolutely great for punk, pop, metal and rock. And if you dial in a bit of treble the slap-sound is awesome. But I play a bit of jazz in a vocals / bass duo, and it simply lacked a bit of clearness in the sound department IMO.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Action was set rather high, but that didn't matter. The neck is one of the most comfortable I've ever played and the bass balances perfect on a strap (no neck-diving at all). The string spacing made it very easy to play quick runs. There was a tad imbalance in volume between the different strings but a quick tweak of the pick-up height fixed that.

The black finish was good-looking, the shape of the body is good and the pick-guard really compliments it

Reliability/Durability : 10
No problems whatsoever!

never had to deal with washburn.... this bass was bought second-hand.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I've playd bass to and fro for 15 years, I own three basses and that's a limit I've set myself (it's ridiculous to own loads of instruments unless you're a pro and I'm not) I mainly bought this because I wanted a humbucker bass and this one caught my eye.

I've already let this one go, maybe I would have kept it if I had changed the pick-up to something clearer-sounding. I tried to use the brightest-sounding strings I could get but they didn't really cut it. I miss this bass at times because it had great playability, but I just couldn't get over the muffled sound. SO... If you play with a full band, this is a good choice. If you plan to play without any other instrument or in a "quiet" setting, maybe you should look for something else.

New RB2000N Korean made 24 fret 4 string bass. It has the MM style active pickup and tone control circuit. The body is Swamp Ash and the neck is maple with a rosewood fretboard and Grover tuners.

This is exactly the set up I wanted. I have a Washburn XB900 as well more on that later.

Sound : 9
I love the pickup and tone controls. I use an Ampeg B2 head with a Sans Amp Bass Driver through a Gens Benz 2 x 15" cab. I play mostly Power Pop Rock and this set up works great! If you don't have a Sans Amp Bass Driver "Git YerSelf One!" Back to the Bass: I can roll off the treble and get almost a standup bass sound , perfect for walking bass lines around a 50's style riff or crank the treble for an aggresive rock sound. Tones in the middle gives me a sound similar to a good old P-Bass, close but not exactly. My Washburn XB900 has EMG P and J style pickups. Having both basses really gives me a wide spectrum of sounds for any style of music, yes, I've even done country gigs before! Hey, Bass players are in demand!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
Well here is my complaint section. The bass wasn't intonated when I received it. The strings buzzed and the battery for the active pickups were dead! I can really tell the difference between the USA XB900 and the Korean RB2000 in the construction. The USA Bass has perfectly polished frets ( No fret overhanging onto the sides) and the neck fits perfectly. The Korean RB2000 , while not bad, isn't as well built. It is Beautiful and plays well but side by side the XB900 is the winner.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This bass has a great bridge! very heavy duty and I love the Swamp Ash body, it is Beautiful. I will be using this bass without a backup, I will always carry extra 9-volts in my case. Speaking of that case! The Washburn Gig bag is very thin and almost no good at all. Luckily, I had an extra hardshell case that fit the bass. If this bass holds up as well as the USA Washburn XB900 I will be very Satisfied.

Customer Support : 10
I have had contact with the customer support people at Washburn, Through my last review of my XB900. They are fantastic! I haven't had any major problem with their products, so my contacts were only to give suggestions and thanks.

Overall Rating : 7
If this was stolen I would look into another Washburn because of the good fortune I've had with them. No problems with my XB900 and hopefully none others with this one. I would look into another XB900 or 920. I didn't see any USA made Washburns with this Swamp Ash Body. The body finish and pickup is what sold me on this bass. The $289 price was nice too! I like the thinner neck of the Washburn Basses and the light weight. I've played P-Basses for a while, I still have one and play it. The Washburn is a very comfortable bass.
Like I mention before, the frets and the setup was less than I was expecting coming from Washburn. The dead battery, not a big deal. The intonation being way out, while most likely not Washburn's fault (Probably the retailer was messing with it) is problematic, especially because of the raves about the Buzz Feiton Tuning System, which makes the bass sound more "in Tune". If the intonation is out it sounds horrible. as was my case. In summary, for the Money, I couldn't have asked for a better bass, I just wasn't expecting the small problems that it has coming from Washburn.

Made in 2000 in Korea. Black finish. Same features as listed in other reviews. Also noteworthy: sealed grover tuners, buzz feiten tuning system and hammerhead design (brass loaded headstock). Everything you could want, nothing you don't. One thing that would have been nice though is a seperate battery compartment for the electronics.

Sound : 9
Since it's made out of maple, the sound is nice and bright and balanced throughout. Unplugged it's very resonant and has way more sustain than a bolt on bass should have. One drawback is the treble tends to sizzle when boosted. Fortunately, the body's natural sound is great so I leave the bass flat and treble cut all the way. My setup is through a boss bass overdive and flanger into a carvin 15 in. combo w/ a BBE 482 sonic maximizer and after a few eq tweaks, this bass produces killer mid punch (think a ballpark Tool sound). Also the Feiten system is awesome. Every note played is in tune and intonation is perfect all the way to the 24th fret. Overall it's definitely great for rock stylings and is probably versatile enough for anything else (great slap tone also).

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I was a little wary towards the factory setup. After puting some relief in the neck, this thing had perfect medium action - exactly what I wanted! (I switch between finger, pick, and slap playing) Pickup height was fine and no adjustments were needed. Neck is thin, fast, and easy to play (the dimensions are nearly identical to an Ibanez gsr series bass)Finish left something to be desired. I found a couple small nicks in the neck and headstock and some type of resin had to be cleaned off the upper horn. But for what this bass cost these seem trite.

Reliability/Durability : 8
My bass has yet to see live action, but it looks like it could hold it's own fairly easily. Electronics shouldn't be a problem. All soldering joints look decent and the control cavity is well shielded. Conductive paint isn't super clean but has everything well covered. The main thing I'd recommend is always having spare batteries otherwise the output is nonexistent.

Customer Support : No Opinion
haven't really dealt w/ Washburn on a personal basis

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for over 2 yrs. now and was looking for an intermediate bass to upgrade from my ibanez gsr 200 (a great bass I highly recommend as a starter). Looks like I found the deal of the hour (especially being a broke engineering student). Mars is clearing these out since they're old stock so grab one while ya can.

I think it is a 99' not to sure. 4 String, Natural finish with a black pickguard, 24 jumbo frets, Washburn Humbucker, and no accesories.

Sound : 10
This bass is purely awesome considering i only bought it for 400$. I use a Fender BXR 60 which is pretty much a P.O.S. but still cuts it. It has awesome bright bouncy tone, good for punk, metal, funk, and with the treble turned down pretty good for jazz. This bass really makes no noticable noise until the treble is turned in full but really what bass doesnt come out with a lot of noise for alot of treble. It has a really boomy bass sound, which I love with hints of treble. I think it has tons of variety. I've never tried it on stage but it sure sounds good enough to cut it. No studio use either.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I think this bass was set up pretty damn good.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This is a very heavy duty and reliable bass, Hell yeah i would gig it without a backup.

Never dealt with it so I dont know.

Overall Rating : 10
Overall if this bass had been stolen I would definitely buy another one of these. I love the feeling of playing it. Much better than those damn slim Ibanez necks.

this bass where made in korea 2000
the bass have 24 frets and 4 strings
the colour is red metallic (its an eye catcher!)
one active humbucker with a volume, treble and a bass controls
both the body and neck is in maple
the body is very small and the whole bass weight 4.0 kilos

Sound : 6
the bass sounds quite good for my style (funk, punk, rock)
the bass is completly noisfree
the sound is kinda bright, the sound variety is not so big
the bass sounds great when you plays very loose and when you slap
but if you plays harder like i do, the frets gets very buzzy and noisy
i think the bass plays best for the stage because of the fret buzz
please send me a mail if you know how to take the fret buzzing on this bass out of my life cause its a very big minus on this bass

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
the bass is good as it can be in this category
but the bass control where broken so i was made to send it back to repair it

Reliability/Durability : 10
the bass fels very comfortable to play live because of the very well
balanced body, you can jump out of your skin with this bass
the strap buttons and colour is the best

Customer Support : No Opinion
the costumers where kind

Overall Rating : 7
i have been playing bass for 4 years my other basses is epiphone thunderbird and a ibanez sr 400, the washburn is the most comfortable and the most good looking of them, sounds and feels best for popping and slapping.
the ibanez is easier to play and sounds better when playing with the fingers.
the things i love with this bass i the good looking body, the very good slapping tone, and the balance
i really hate the fret buzz

-i think it was made in 1999 -24 frets, 4 strings -volume controls, high and low tone selector -in big ass pick-up in the middle -active pickup -metalic dark silver finish -jazz style -dealy bridge -non-locking tuners but never seems to go out of tune unless theres a change in temperature

Sound : 10
my bands style is modern rock and alternative im using a 300-watt 6 channel fender p.a. it has a full range of sound rich/full sound, to dark muddy sound to a nice bright sound as long as your strings arent dying on you its exellent for stage play i like pretty much everything about it...its pretty much perfect

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
there are no flaws in it besides the little buzz you get on the 2nd fret on the top string.

Reliability/Durability : 10
you can play this thing on stage until you pass out there hardware is good! trust me! it has the best finish that i have ever seen on any guitar...thats probably one of the main reasons why i bought it its reliable alright, i only adjust the truss rod and neck whenever im bored...you wont need anything else for backup in a gig trust me

Overall Rating : 10
Ive pretty much hit the jackpot on this bass for only $775...when i first played it in the store i thought it would have been at LEAST $1400....ive been playing for about 3 years, i own an El Degas Les Paul, Stage Acoustic, Traynor Bass stack but i use a fender p.a. for the head, Roland 60-watt amp and a peavey 40-watt amp. if it got stolen or lost i'de probably get the same type or maybe even the 5-string version for about $100 more...ive tried many basses, Ibanez, Fender and a whole shit load of other ones, this one had the most comfortable feel to it and easiest to play...the Ibanez 4-strings come close to comparison but not quite. i wish i had the same model of bass i have except for the 5-string RB2500 or RB4500 model.
