Got it second hand, it's a 2000 or 2001 model.
Featues have been described earlier, but quickly: one MM style pickup, volume contron and active EQ: bass and treble. 5 strings, slim neck, narrow string spacing. 34" scale bass.
I give it a 9 because with this pickup and the EQ you get any sound you're after.

I don't like giving 10 to anything, but really... I have to.
I can get the most beautiful fat sounds, and the trebliest, and anything in between. Whatever setting I use, it sounds great. With the tone controls set flat it has a very powerful round sound. Then you can push it one way or another with teh very effective tone controls. Fantastic.

My bass has relatively low action, well set-up (except for intonation which was badly off but I took care of that). It's fitted with a set of DR Black Beauties, which are really nice strings. Good tension on the B string despite being 34". Very comfortable neck. I wasn't too keen on the string spacing at first, much narrower than I'm used to in my 4-strings (I have another 5-string, but the spacing is wider). It was difficult to be accurate enough when slapping/popping, although I could play much better/faster regular fingerstyle. However, it just takes a bit of practice and it becomes natural again. I love this neck.
The finish I won't score. It was refinished by the previous owner with an "interesting" paintjob. One of those car paints that look purple or green depending on the angle/light intensity. Not exactly a professional job, but it looks good. I like it better than any of teh standard finishes.

Can't judge, but I don't foresee trouble. One of the tuning pegs seems a bit wobbly, but it mayhave been knocked or something.

A great bass without any "but"s.
I could easily use this as my only bass, whilst until now I always viewed the 5-string as an extra. It feels great, it sounds great. Unlike other reviewers I don't find it any heavier than other similar basses. I've had heavier, and I've had lighter.
Great sound, great feel, versatile, relatively inexpensive. If you're after a good 5-string bass, or simply after a good bass.. you should try this one.
If this one breaks, I'll hunt another. If this one gets stolen, I'll hunt the thief and I'll rip his limbs with my bare hands, after I break his bones with the bass (yeah, I think it's solid enough ;-)
You get the idea, right? :-) It's a keeper!

Mine was made in the year 2000. The body looks very neat, it has good figures. The neck (rosewood, quite wide, medium frets) fits my hands very nicely. Active electronics, volume, treble and bass knobs. 1 humbucker mic. 24 frets, which is a very nice feature. String-thru body bridge is very good, makes the sustain a bit better than with regular bridges. It's quite heavy, but that only means it's full wood, doesn't it? ;) It came with a set of tools for adjustment of bridge and mic.

The sound is very bassy. The bottom is very good and it really thunders. The mids are very weak, a mid adjustment knob would fix this. Too bad it isn't included. :( As stated above, the treble knob mostly just adds hiss to the sound. The slap sounds really long for more midrange. All this can be mended though with a good amplifier. Fits together very well with my Ampeg B2.

There's absolutely no flaws at the finish. It just rocks. :) Everything's put together with care and time. Nothing's bad at it.

I've had it for 6 years now, done a lots of gigs and a lot of studio work with it. I've never regret buying it. There's a tiny little bit that seems to be wrong though... The output jack seems to start crack (sound) every now and then. Not that it's bad, it has started to crack only twice in these 6 years I've had it. Other than that, I've got nothing to complain about.

I have no idea where it's made, I bought it at a Pawn Shop.
24 Frets, 5-strings, Volume, Bass, And Treble knobs. Active pickups,
A sort of laminated plasic look, feels sorta like metal\plastic.
It looks like a regular Bass Guitar. The tuners are smooth and easy to turn. This gets a nine!
Sound

It sounds like something that can be used for rock, rap... not something that would be used for Jazz! A TON of bass, little treble. if you add treble with an amp, it sounds weird... Slapping sounds okay, although popping is not awesome sounding. It would be better if it had a slightly better sound, like Warwick Basses. I dont like the fact that slapping\popping doesnt sound that good. Really, slapping on it sounds okay, just not for what I like to do. I love the band Mudvayne, they have the most talented bass player! He plays Warwick though. I'll rate this an 8.

Everything is perfect! One funny thing is that about 6 months after I got it, it started to sound distorted, making little cracking sounds. We opened the Bass up, and replaced the battery we found inside! Now it sounds clear and bassy! This gets another nine!

This bass have no problems here, except I had to buy strap locks.
This will last a long time! I would bring A backup to A gig though.
The batterie might be low! This gets A 9 1\2 !

1999 Washburn Rb-2500. Electric Blue finish w/active pickup. Volume, bass, treble. Really nice tuners that are very smooth and solid bridge construction. Bass and treble knobs detent at half way to easily make adjustments. Mid control would be nice.

I play all styles of music and mainly use this bass for recording. It has a nice sound to it but some sort of preamp for recording is necessary to get the right sound if you're picky about bass tone. The bass control is very powerful but I'm not the impressed with the treble control, which seems to add a bit of hiss -- easily remedied with a good eq or preamp.

This bass is a treat to play..really nice feeling neck and if you're like me and like resting your thumb on the 5th string when not using it the bass makes you want to play.

I'm a guitarist that likes to play bass and do a lot of recording...been playing guitar for 10 years and decided to buy this bass 3 years ago and have loved learning how to play bass on this guitar...I've played a lot of p-basses from a lot of manufacturers including Fender, but I like the feel of this washburn a lot better...seems really smooth as opposed to the rigid feel of other p-bass styles.

ok to be honest this is where it let me down, i have a shitty encore, and i think that sounds better for somethings, because it sounds to much like a syth bass, its got a nice slap pop sound but i play jazz aswell as metal so i need the nice lows aswell as the wicked highs for slapping and popping, i dont like it and im probably getting an ibanez edb 605 instead, but im going to try the rb2502 which has musicman style pickups and an extra pickup so ill see if i prefer that one 3 cause its got 1 wicked sound

Made in 1999 in Korea. 24 Fret 5 string. Volume, "Phat" bass knob, Treble. Humbucking active pickup. It was made by washburn for this bass. Great tuners keep it in tune for long periods of time. thin neck.

I play Rap Metal with a lot of slaping and popoing and also fast playing. It has a nice action and sounds great especialy with the active pickup. It has a very full deep bass sound when the bass knob is turned up. It works well in the studio and on stage.

This is a 1999 years model. This washburn has been built in Korea, well i guess. It's a 24 fretted model, 5 strings. The humbucker double-coil active pickup is a custom Washburn amped with a volume, a bass (quite loud, really efficient ) and a treble knob. The bridge is also a strings-thru body custom This bass look really good. All the hardware are made of brushed steel. The shape is similar to jazz bass but with much more style.

I play a lot of punk, ska, rock and jazz. It sounds very well exept for slaping and popping because of the bridge pickup.
I plug it in a PEAVEY TNT 115/BW and it spit really great. The preamp is so powerful that you can have every kind of tone you want.
