Nice, well made neck through with sleek, handsome look. String through body design. Active EQ with soapbar humbuckers. Buzz Feiten tuning system. Made in Korea, in 1996 I think. To get to 9V battery, you have to unscrew the back plate. Newer basses have battery holders that let you easily pop them in and out.

Sound : 9
Nice, warm tones from top to bottom. Lots of low end punch and sustain. But moderate hum when amp is cranked up.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Very well made. Took some work to get the action adjusted properly, but now that it is, it stays there.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This is a quality bass that will get you there and back again. Everything is tight and solid. One minor complaint: You have to detune the A string to unscrew the truss rod cover screw directly beneath it. The two other screws come straight out.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had any dealing with them...or needed to.

Overall Rating : 10
If something were to happen to my RB4000 I'd definitely consider getting another one. It's a great sounding and nice looking bass for the money.

I play mainly punk and metal, and for these genres this bass suits very well. But I think that it's also good for playing' other genres.

In generally I play my bass with Hughes & Kettner Basskick 3000 amp. With it I can get rather pleasant sound. Sometimes I play with distortion pedal (Ibanez PD7), and with that bass sounds very wonderful.

In my opinion the sound of this bass is quite rich and there is great amount of variety. Harmonics (natural and pinch) can be produced easily and they sound like heaven. Overall I really like sound and tone of this bass.

It was set-up at the factory quite well, I think. Actually I bought it as a used, but it was in great condition and it's still.

Everything seems to be allright: paintjob, neck and body, hardware, saddle etc. Only problem I had found is that some tuning pegs are a little loose, but it's not a big problem.

Reliability/Durability : 10
As I said, everything seems to be OK. I really think that all parts will last well, even if I played a lot. This bass doesn't need adjusting often, not even tuning.

I'm sure I can depend on it, at least so far. I'd definitely use it on a gig without any kinda backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I don't really know, 'cause I haven't been in any contact with the company or anything like that. But I think, that it won't be so easy to get it repaire when it breaks.

I've been playin' bass now for almost five years. Back then I had a Gibson/Epiphone bass, which was a Fender lookalike. Compared to this Washburn it's really pathetic. Currently I own Hughes & Kettner Basskick 3000 bassamp, Hartke B20 amp and Ibanez PD7 distortion unit.

I bought this bass by a coincidence, but now it seems to be very good choice.

I like my bass rather much and it's very trustworthy. My favourite is perhaps neckthru body or 24 frets. Overall this is very good bass for bass players in generally. I don't see anything that it lacks.

I like the features this bass has. Its made in Korea(high quality),one solid body piece, neck thru, 24 frets, 4 string, 4 controls-volume,tone,low-end,high-end, chrome hardware, It houses 2 washburn brand soapbar active pickups. I'm not sure what wood it has or the finish since it didnt come with a manual or any material at all, but it is a rosewood fret board. Very nice finish too, whatever it is. string-thru body bridge so it doesnt get out of tune often (I just seem to have trouble keep the E string in tune). Included original hardshell case.

I play hard rock/heavy metal and this bass fits it quite well. I mean its not the best bass i could use for rock but it does the job well. I currently use an ampeg bse 4x10 bass cab and an ampeg svt-350 head. I use a big muff pi or a korg pedal for dist. which i hook up through the fx loop, and then a morley power wah boost. The bass just plain on the amp is not noisy at all but some at real loud levels, but it could just be my amp. It has a range from deep thumpy sound to punchy jazz sound. very versitile bass. One thing I do like that stands out is i get awesome feedback on the g string/7th fret. and it only does it on that fret. I dont know if it does that on all the ones that were made but it does it on mine whether playing through the amp or not.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Like I said, Korea is a high quality manufacturer of bass. Has great action and pickups adjusted properly. No flaws hardly at all except for a few very tiny cosmetic blemishes(but nothing really). and this is good considering i got it through a local music store that had it sitting there for 6 months. everything fit well and no flaws.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Havent yet to play it on stage but i have bang it up against things on accident and it left not a scratch on it. It seems like a very reliable bass. I just have no opion on it since I havent tested it by playing live on stage for hours.

Never had to deal with them. I love washburn service. It has a lifetime warranty.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for about 2 years and i own a washburn xb100 which is a great beginner bass. If it got stolen or lost I think I'd save up for an alembic spoiler just because I think they would be alot more better for my type of music, but thats not saying the rb4000 isnt a great bass. If your looking for a good bass that has a pretty good range of style of music and doesnt cost too much I would recommend this bass. Email me if I left anything out or if you had detailed questions I didnt cover.
