One P-Type pick-up, 24 frets, bolt on neck (4 bolts). Blue. Pretty stripped down, but for the price you can't expect more. The finish wasn't the greatest. The body was fine, but the I found the paint job by the tuners to be sloppy.

Sounded fairly good, even without an eq in line with the amp. Quite a wide range of tones, although I found the brighter tones a little thin. An EQ would probably fix that. The deeper tones boom quite nicely. I tried it out at a couple of gigs, both outdoor and well attended. I only heard compliments and it definitely blended in well with the rest of the band. I don't play a slap style, so the bass suited me quite well. I imagine that it would be average if you're going for that sound, but if you like the bass to melt of over the crowd like maple syrup, this bass will do it.

Action was good right out of the box. Again, the finish was a little sloppy in spots. The pick-up was very clean and virtually hiss free. Came with a good set of strings.

Here's where the problem for me came in. I jump around a lot when I play, always have. Everytime I did a jump, the Bass would cut out. I tried another bass and had no problem. Not sure where in the Bass the problem was, because I returned it and got one that is working (a more expensive, but more reliable bass). It's no fun standing like a statue when you're playing and it left me with a lot of doubts about the washburn.

The store took the bass back immediately, but I have no idea how Washburn would be like to deal with directly.

Not a bad practise bass, but I wouldn't gig with it heavily, after my experience anyway. Too bad, because it sounds really good and plays very well, but I gots to move baby!

This bass could fill any niche. It's sound is like a P-Bass, Jazz Bass and Stingray all rolled into one but with it's own voice and unique style. I play mostly Rock, Worship, and Fusion and this bass can do all three. I run it through an SWR Workingmans 15 without effects. If a bass sounds as this with no effects it is a good bass.
The sound is fat, warm, and growly. With a tasteful and not harsh brightness due to it's passive electronics, pick-up placement and type. Slight hum when the tone knob is dimed but that is due to the sloppily applied shilding paint in the cavity. A common scourge in this price range but it dissapears when you play. This bass is loud and both knobs have good headroom. The tone knob almost sounds as if it were a boost. The bass gets considerably louder as you turn up the tone knob. I LOVE IT!!
I would use this for both stage and studio.
I like everything about this bass. For under $300 fazools I can't complain.
It came set up perfect with the stock strings but I switched them out for GHS Boomers 45-105 which were a heavier gauge but to my suprise no neck adjustment was needed. I lowered the action and adjusted the intonation. I also oiled the fretboard and wiped the bass down with orange oil then polished it. I want to leave it on display thats how nice it is.

Out of the box action was perfect.
Pickup hight is perfect.
Fretwork is immaculate. No high frets all well dressed. No sharp edges.
Control plate could fit a little better but it's not a big deal.
Grover tuners are accurate and snug feeling. They stay in tune.
Fender style bridge is pretty beefy for a bass in this price range, better than whats on Mexican Fenders.

Built like a TANK!
This bass has weight for its size and does not feel cheap. It is about as heavy as a Warwick.
Hardware is very good quality, chrome .
The finish is natural so if it wears some the bass will only look better. Although I don't see this being a problem.
Stap buttons are big and solid. I would gig with this without a backup.

I have been playing for 9 years.
In addition to this bass I also own an MIA Fender Jazz bass and I like the sound of the Washburn better. This is a hard bass to put down. I love it! If this were stolen I would have to get the T-24 Taurus because Washburn has ceased production on these. I bought this because of it's simplicity and pick-up, but I never would have imagined it to be this good.
