Product: Washburn T-35 Taurus

Features : 8
Here are the specs:
* Stained Mahogany body
* Neck through body
* Rosewood fingerboard with off set dot inlay
* Four control knobs for maximum tonal variance (Vol, Bass, Mid, Treb)
* Scalding hot Duncan Bass Lines (active) pickup
* Gold colored hardware
* Wilkenson Bridge

The body style is the basic Taurus shape. The neck thru is done with Maple and mahoghany. The wings look to be made of something other than mahoghany. A satin finish was used to seal the wood. It feels comfortable, But I prefer a natural tung oil finish.
It has a typical 24 fret 34" scale.

Sound : 8
The bass features a Seymour Duncan Basslines MM Stingray style pickup. I believe it is the Alnico model. It produces a warm but bright sound depending on the EQ setting. I noticed the MID is very strong in this bass. So I tend to keep the mid turned out or set flat on the knob. The bass was used in the studio by a friend of mine when he recorded their last album. The bass sounded great on the album. It was very close to a music man.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
The bass is setup perfectly now. When I recieved the bass the action was a bit to high and played very stiff. But after adjusting the action and neck relief, it plays like butter now. The neck has a fairly wide string spacing. Which is good b/c I have somewhat big hands and can move around nicely on it.
I have always been an Ernie Ball/MusicMan player, so this setup was very similar in sound. The only flaw is on the Basslines preamp the vol. knob is push/pull and one day I pulled it up and the shaft fell right out. Which is no biggie, a new pot from SD is only $15. So be careful when You pull up on the knob.

Reliability/Durability : 9
It seems built like a tank. I got it from my friend who tends to reign terror on basses. And this one survived a good 2 years with him. If it is Fowler Proof it can take anything.

Customer Support : 8
I dont do customer support. I prefer to do all repairs myself or deling with a local luthier. Plus seeing how I got the bass USED, it has no warranty.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
Well seeing how this is a prototype model and they only made 33 of them. I dont think i could get another. They made a t35 5 string and a t34 4 string. They made prototypes and sent them out to the shops, but it was never a production model.
I would buy another if I found one. But otherwise I would get a Lakland Skyline or Ibanez Soundgear.
I also own:
Ibanez SR3005 Prestige Model
Ibanez SR305DX
Samick Fairlane 6 string
Washburn Taurus T35

Amps:
Ampeg SVT-350H
Ampeg SVT610HLF
Peavey T-max head
Peavey 412TVX
Carvin 210 cab
