I have no idea what year this was made, since I got it used. It is a USA made guitar! This Washburn was a good deal being I traded an old drum set that I got for $200 for it.. It has 20 frets, solid top or course it's a bass. One volume, one tone control, three wat selector for the two pickups(neck pickup/both pickups/bridge pickup, duh!). The pickups are "W 941" and a "W 443", neither of these pickups are suppose to be on here though, it was a factory mistake, they are really made for a bass that's worth about $800... So I guess that's why they have amazing tone. The body is like a jazz bass styled body. The electronics are passive, as they are with most basses. I'm not sure what kind of wood the body is, the fretboard is rosewood and the neck maple. The finish is a dark green transparent, and you can see the wood grain underneith it. However any smeers or smudges are very very noticable. Tuners stay in tune, forever.. The neck is pretty thin, which is nice to play on. Even though I got it on a trade my friend that I got it from gave me a TKL hard shell case with it, a plus!

This bass, which is one of three that I have owned, has great tone for pretty much any music style, it's very versatile, you can move the three way switching down to the bridge pickup to get a then tight bass sound for picking and slap bass, the middle with both pickups for any other style you want, and I never use the top switch position, the neck pickup, but I know it would sound good for some style of music. I pramarily use the two pickups together, this sound is great for alternative, light rock or metal... I'm more into the rock and punk rock sound. and this bass sounds great for both styles. I play it through a Fender Frontman which is pushing a 6x10 Traynor cab(dont ask how, but it does) at home for practise, and I use it at my church through a Basstech 150. And it sounds great on the Basstech, and on my Frontman. The Basstech can make the most pathetic bass, like a Rogue 200 XL, sound beautiful though.
This bass is not noisy at all. It has a nice deep sound and it has great sustain on any of the pickup selections. I honestly must say I like everything about this bass!!

I can't say how the guitar was when it was new, factory setup, pickup adjusted, etc. However, I know that now the pickups are at a perfect heighth. The string heighth is nice, for me at least I like my action low though... And that's how it is. The bridge seems pretty well adjusted, I haven't really looked it too much, I guess I should though, I've already owned it 6 months. The wood grain finish undernieth the grean paint actually had a few flaws, there are some black spots on it that don't line up with the grain lines.. But they're on the back so no one but me sees them. Other then that it looks good, of course it's used so it has some scratches and dings from the previous owner. And, I don't know if this was from the factory or what, but on the neck right under the low E tuning key there is a pretty long gouge in the neck. Nothing bad, but it's unsightly. Not very deep though, won't affect anything. I have had one problem with this bass, but it only happened once so I don't know if I should worry about it. However, once when I was playing at my church I moved the selector down to the bridge pickup so I could have a tighter tone for picking, when I did this I didn't get any sound.... I switched it back to the middle position and had my sound back. I'm assuming that was just a quick short or something, since it's never happened since then. It did bother me and that's why this gets an 8 instead of a 9 or even 10.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I deffinantly think this bass could withstand abuse, I baby it though so it's never been abused. The hardware, tuning keys, controls, saddels, everything seems very durable and strong for years of use. The finish looks thick and won't wear off any time soon. The strap buttons are big, so no strap has ever come off of them, and they are sturdy. Except for that one time that the bridge pickup didn't work I think I can depend on this bass. I always play without a back up.

Never have, and hopefully never will deal with them

I have been playing guitar for almost two years. And I have taught myself to play bass. Though I'm not trying to exalt myself, I have been complimented on my guitar and bass playing many times, by young and old alike. In the two years that I've been playing I've owned to other basses, both lower end basses, but both were nice, not as nice as this one though! I currently own this Washburn XB-120, a Fender Standard Strat, a Fender Telacoustic, Marshall JCM800, Crate Blue Voodoo 2x12 combo, Fender Frontman, Traynor 6x10 bass cab, some nice affects, and an Applause acoustic/electric. I suppose if I some how, I don't know HOW, lost this bass I'd try to find another factory mistake just like it, and if it were stolen, well I guess I'd be pretty dumb to let it get stolen. Cause that criminal would get an awesome bass. I love how it sounds, the deep tone from the factory strings just amazes me, I can't wait to put on some Ernie Ball power slinkys or something like that... There really isn't anything that I hate about this guitar. I didn't really compare it to any other basses since it was about the only choice I had. If you by this bass, even with the normal factory pickups I think you'll be happy, but if you get one of the few factory mistakes where they put some pickups from a $800 bass into this $300 bass then you'll be lucky! :)

It was made 2000, 20 frets, 4 strings, It has a laminated top. One tone knob, One Volume knob, a handy little toggle switch to switch between tones, (Very Versatile!!) I Have two washburn original soapbar pickups. A bridge pickup and one by the kneck. It has a metalic gold finish. It has a semi fat neck scale not to big great walkin around. included cable.

I play mostly alternitive and punk and this bass produces kick ass sound. I use a Peavey TKO 115S 85 watts and this bass pumps through it. The Bass is deep and very punchy. It buzzed when i first got it but a few ajustments fixed it just fine. It has a rich full sound can be punchy or if u want to can slur together. Pickups work great. No humming or buzzing when you arn't playing.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The picups were ajusted great/ The bass had one small flaw but like i said before i fixed it BY MY SELF no problem.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This bass will withstand alot although the finish seems to dent kind of easily so make sure to have a gig bag or a case. The strap buttons are super solid never had a problem with it. I can Depend on it when ever i need it. It is a trusty bass and i recomend it. I would definatly use it on a gig without a backup i trust my baby.
