I bought this bass as a re-entry into the world of bass playing. I had first played bass four years ago but switched to guitar after six months. I picked this bass because of it's unique looks and price!
The bass is a standard four stringer with two tone controls and one volume that are connected to two passive single coil pickups.
The body as you might have guessed is clear acrylic and absolutely stunning! The neck is hard maple with a rosewood fretboard with what I believe to be medium jumbo frets.
The neck is full scale with a nice chunky feel to it, it's a pretty basic bass but I honestly don't think you could get better for the money!

I was actually quite surprised when I first plugged in this bass! Considering the price I would have expected it to sound awful but it's actually got that nice vintage tone you hear from old Fenders, the original 60's ones I mean!
I wouldn't say this bass was perfectly suited to my style of music (rock/metal) as the pickups are simply not powerful enough. I'm actually considering a couple of seymour duncan quarter pounders in there which should improve the sound no end!
Now one thing I do really dislike... There is NO shielding whatsoever on this bass, which basically means whenever you're near an amp it sounds like a swarm of three billion angry wasps heading your way! Not too great for practising then, but I guess on stage it wouldn't be an issue!
Action, Fit, & Finish

When the bass first arrived the action was set quite high, but 15 minutes later and after a little bit of tweaking I managed to lower the action exactly when I like it! The pickups are adjusted just fine out of the box, I've never actually owned a guitar/bass that didn't have the pickups set up very well!
There are no flaws whatsoever on the bass, everything is neat, tight and as I said before... Stunning! The neck has a great satin finish which looks very classy and the rosewood fretboard has obviously been oiled in the not too distant past. It's obvious that Wesley Guitars really do know what they're doing!
Reliability/Durability

I can't really comment too much here as I've had this bass a little over 24 hours! All I can say is that everything is solid, and I mean Ibanez solid! I would expect this bass to last a long time and it would definately stand up to live playing... BUT just thinking, the electrics of a budget bass/guitar will always come into question and I would recommend upgrading them, just to be safe!

The only experience with Wesley that I've had was ordering the bass! It was dispatched extremely quickly and was here in no time!
For your money you get a full one year warranty, but judging the build quality, I'm not sure it matters!

Overall, this bass is in my opinion the best value for money you can buy. Not only is this a unique, stunning looker. It also plays well and has a nice tone about it!
I've been playing for four years now (guitar), and this bass has really made me think about switching over to bass for good! I currently own an Ibanez IC400 and a Peavey Generation EXP Custom and neither are as quirky or good looking!
The only downside I can think about this bass is the lack of shielding really, I know that with the bass being clear that it would take some of that away but zero sheiding is just madness in my opinion! This really is a cracking bass, and for the price - Just buy one!
