I have only had this bass for a couple of days and I've already gotten lots of compliments from almost everyone i've showed it to. It is just so unique that it totally blows everybody away. This is really a piece of artwork meets a playable bass. If you are aware of the background of the bass before you buy it, you won't be disapointed.

The body is made of green and yellow ipe, poplar, and holly. The neck is maple, curly maple, and purpleheart laminated together to make a nice looking neck-thru body construction bass. The finish on this bass is close to none, but when I bought the bass I was fully aware of it.

I play a bit of everything. I am more of a classical guitar player who switched to bass because over the past year or two i've really decided that I like it a lot better. The bass sounds very fat. It has a nice tone though if you can get play it in tune (i'm still working on that since i've never owned a fretless before). I can play with others and be in tune, but I can't quite do it solo yet. But since this bass is so fun to play I don't think practicing will be a problem.

The tone may not be exactly what you're looking for, but if you want a bass that sounds like no other bass you've owned it is worth having just because.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
There is one note that buzzes on the neck, but i'm working on that. It's not that noticeable anyway because I usually play it in a different position. The only problem I really have is that I get some hum from the pickup (EMG select) when I plug it in. That is more of a pickup than a bass problem though i'm sure. I will also have to look into that. I'm sure it is an easy fix for someone who knows what they're doing.

The neck is so thick that it feels very much like an upright bass. I'm not sure if that was part of wish's design goals or not because he also builds upright basses. It is very comfortable though because I prefer big beefy necks anyway. Besides, they add to the tone.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I think this bass will be alive long after i've past away. I wouldn't worry about this bass getting messed up if I took it out to a gig because it's built like a tank. Not one of those little sissy tanks either.

Customer Support : 10
Wish is the best person you can ever do business with. I have emailed him on several occasions and he always wrote back to me within the day, but most of the time within an hour or two. He is also a very nice guy and will take time to answer any questions you may have. I'd love to meet Wish in person because i'm sure he's a great guy.

Not a studio bass. This is a LIVE bass. Everybody loves it and it sounds like a grizzly bear when you play it. GRRROOOOWWWLL!!!
