It's probably from the late '70s or early '80s. Made in Japan, off course.
A very solid P-Bass like style. Famous BB family. Looks very vintage and that's great about it...
It's a 32" scale bass - so it's shorter than the other basses made by Yamaha. Very comfortable to play. Bought it used, but it's still a great guitar, after years of playing by the other musicians.

Very rich and very deep, energetic sound - typical for that type... Used it with an amp and with SansAMP simulator - that's a very good guitar for recording. when you're playing live with an old Yamaha BB - you just look great.

I had to set up this bass and it works just fine. maybe in the few next years I'll change the frets... It has some scratches from the previous users, but it's still a very valuable bass...

Liked that bass... yeah, a 32" scale bass and it sounds very, very good. Far better than a 32" Ibanez GAX, which is also a good guitar. I prefer that guitar for live playing. It's a real solid working horse. a quality straight from Japan and I just love basses from there.

no comment - this bass has been made many years ago. but I think that their luthiers still can help me, if there's a damage... they have a great support.

a Fantastic Value for the price I paid. and it looks really cool. ever wanted to have a short scale bass again and that Yamaha BB VIs gave me more than I expected.
Really good bass for some live shows and quite good for recording.
Some people can say that I'm Yamaha's guy who's advertising their axes - but I'm not. I had some of their gear (RBX 260, RBX 260F, Attitude Standard), tried some, too (Pacifica, RBX 170, BB N4) and I loved them... When I had to sell a bass guitar made by that company (I had some financial troubles...) I was really upset...
Now I have a part of the greatest and the most proud rock'n'roll history - and old series BB bass - and I'm not gonna sell it or change it for anything else.
