Larry is good and getting the sound of your guitar out the amp. If you have a guitar that sounds good unplugged, then it should sound similar to that amplified. The sound improved 80% after I installed these pups. I can dig anything out of there I want with no mud and no loss of bass. Plenty of twang to do my lap steel imitations but not harsh on the top. Sounds like..hey...it sounds like my guitar!

Larry has been a pleasure to deal with. We've had lengthly conversations and he really can help you get what you are after in a pickup. I've tried em...most and I really won't have to use another pickup company.

Perceived output level: Increased output level-I would say 30-40% more output than typical(weak) Tele P.U.'s
Tone: The front is balanced to the back interms of output-Front:warm,round,big,clarity Back:same characteristics but with the bite and treble
Sonic evaluation: I use a Fender Deluxe Reverb-an older model.Larry Pollack(Aero)has rewound 2 of my strat pickups, has wound his own Aero Tele & Strat pickups for me, and built his own Aero humbuckers for my PRS McCarty.I have a Tele,2 strats,& PRS.All of my guitars have Aero P.U.'s-clarity & tone make the difference.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Blues, rock, funk

Comments: If any of these guitars were stolen, I would obviously replace them.Larry first rewound some original Strat p.u.'s for me- 1965's.Most guitarists would call me crazy for rewinding two originals strat p.u.'s but,the bottom line is,they sounded like "Shite".Before they were dead & now they are alive with clarity & warmth(& so is the guitar). So are all of my guitars which were all ongoing projects before.I met Larry and he asked me to describe the sound that I was looking for in my Strat p.u.'s.I played him some examples and he matched the sonic characteristics in his wind.I'am not up on all of the terms but I know inspiration when I hear it.That is what good tone is to me-when I hear it,it makes want to play & when I hear it while I'am playing,I play better. That means a great deal to me-I always want to play better.Larry knows his stuff-in each case I've told him what I wanted in terms of tone & he knows the winds & wire &.....to produce these tones.Check out the review of his Jazz Bass P.U.'s in the Bass Player Pickup Shoot-Out,He got the "ToP Tone" award for his Bass Pickups. He builds them all this way-one guy,one by one-to your tone specs. My guitars were catatonic before, now they are schizophrenic and I'am ecstatic(not Schizophrenic).Aero Instrument,Carlsbad,Ca.(760)754-1185 or www.AeroInstrument.com.
