Sonic evaluation: Guitar really comes alive with this PU. It has a very balanced smooth
tone which makes it very allround. Its the best pickup I?ve tried so far
but personally I want more mids.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Bridge humbucker suitable for everything but thrash/deathmetal-styles. A very good studio PU.
Overall Rating

Comments: I?m very happy with the PU but its a little bit too balanced and smooth.
Compared to my Tone Zone the H2+ is more open but the Tone Zone
has more tone. BUT I have not tried both pickups on the same guitar
so the different woods in different guitars surely makes the pickups
sound different. I?m looking for a PU with more mids so maybe the
Tom Anderson H3 models is more suitable for me. However its
a top of the line PU and I dont intend to replace it. Instead I?m gonna
get a new guitar and try the H3 model and maybe put a pair of Texas
Specials in front (when I can afford it).

:
Model of guitar or bass: 1993 Tom Anderson Drop Top Classic
Position: bridge
Pickup being replaced: None--This was the stock pickup

Artists using this pickup: Neal Schon, Chris Camozzi, Basil Fung, numerous session players
You musical style(s): Rock/pop/funk
Reason for pickup change: None--The pickup came stock in my guitar.
Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: Hot--output wise this is very similar to a Duncan JB
Tone: Balanced--a good balance of everything from low to high. Buttery lows, complex mids, and smooth highs
Sonic evaluation: After trying many different pickups, I Have to honestly say this is my favorite pickup on the market. The H2+ has what I would described as a balanced tone, with a focused low end, complex midrange, and very smooth highs. This is NOT a thrash/death metal pickup, or a pickup wound for severe output. This pickup is wound for tone, and seems to work best in guitars with balanced-sounding woods, such as basswood or alder. I play rock/pop/funk stuff, so I need a pickup that can gibe me those big gained-out rock studio tones. This pickup deliers that huge tone with perfect balance.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: For overall versatility and rock/pop/funk/commercial top 40 gigs, this pickup is unbeatable, as are Anderson guitars in general. However, this is a TONE pickup and not an output pickup, so death metalheads should stay away.

Comments: I use it and haven't swapped it out. I think that says it all.
