Perceived output level: Slightly less than stock pickups
Tone: Very balanced. Crystal clear bell like tones.
Sonic evaluation: Using a Hughes & Kettner Attax 80. These pickups really are the biz. Although the output is slightly less than stock p/u's, this is more than made up in the quality of the sound. They are called vintage pickups & that's what they produce, vintage 50's strat sounds. The middle pickup is not reverse wound (although I believe that you can buy a version that is). For the price (retail for 3 p/u's is about ?40.00) they are absolutely fantastic value and will give Mighty Mite etc a run for their money.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I play rock & blues and there's plenty of variation in tone for both styles
