Humbucker pickups, neck and bridge. Passive. Individually adjustable pole peices on one side of each. Stock in most BC Rich import guitars. Two conductor instead of 4. For features I rate them 8's since they dont have 4 conductor which would allow for series/parallel wireing and coil tapping.
Instrument
:
I've left them stock in all BC Rich guitars Ive owned and used them for upgrade pups in import Jacksons & Epiphones.
Sound

High but not overly high output. Crunchy rather then smooth sound. If the pole peices are left too low, the neck pup can get muddy for lower notes. So I raise these a little above the top of the covers. For bridge pup I adjust them allmost level with the top of the pup houseing but not quite flush. Lower then the bridge pups polepeices. I also lower the entire pup for both bridge and neck a little more then some other pups Ive used cause othewrwise they can start interfering with note sustain and fade out. When properly adjusted they sound fantastic to me with overdrive and distortion and have excellent sustain char with nice slow note fade out. They are my fave pup even compared to various Dimarzio and Seymour Duncans that Ive tried.

Ive been playing guitar since I was 14, so its been a few decades lol. The one improvement that could be made to them imo is 4 conductor wireing so a user could add coil tapping as well as series/parallel operation for further sound tweaking.
Ones Ive used for pup upgrades in other guitars have come from BC Rich import guitars that others wanted other pups in. I'd buy them direct if they where available that way. They are my fave humbuckers for crunchy articulate harmonically rich excellent sustain char pups.

Single coil humbuckers... I believe. Its basically a single coil pickup loaded into a humbucking unit. black with little round magnets... The name "B.C. Rich" is written on them.

Came loaded stock on a B.C. Rich Warlock Deluxe. 1 at neck 1 at bridge.

I think they sound great. I've played it on QUITE A FEW amps at this point and I have no serious complaints on sound. I hear some people saying they don't like thin or trebly sound and all I can say is that those people probably aren't setting their pots right. When I was playing this through a 500 watt crate amp with preamp modeling tubes it absolutely screamed and the low end was fat enough I didn't even really need a bassist!
The response is super tight. I don't know how anyone could say these sound muddy except that they dont have it set up or tuned right. I actually picked this guitar because of the UNMATCHED definition when shredding.
Its true though, they don't have the full sustain needed to get the guitar to feed back. It is very very difficult to get the axe to feed back on itself, if that's what you're looking for... Thats my only complaint sound-wise.

The main problem I am having is for some wierd reason it is very hard to get them to stay set (?). Its wierd because the screw holes arent stripped... I can set everything right and it'll sit in the right position but it will often fall out of alignment. I think it has to do with the humbuckers not being mounted tight enough so the SPRINGS tend to shift around which pushes the thing to funny angles.... This is probably fixable though if I were to for instance replace the springs.
I like the sound of the nice tight single coils, I honestly have not found many guitars that can match it for shredding (a good V, a good Les Paul SG, a good single coil Strat...). All of those models that can beat it out are WAAAAAAAAY more pricey.

It came stock on a BC Rich NJ Series Beast,
and I also bought a bridge and neck BC Rich pickup for a '84 Ibanez Roadstar series II guitar, the humbuckers on the Ibanez were old and just gave out alot of static, so being on a budget I went out and bought 2 BC Rich BDSM pickups for $40USD.
Sound
:

The output on these pickups are great, but like i said before i was on a budget so I picked these up there might be better ones but as of now im happy with the outcome of these, they sound great with lots of distortion and when playing heavy metal especially when your tapping, sliding, using trills, the only downfall is that they dont produce those really long sustains.

Id probably buy something a little more pricey, you get what you pay for, and from all the talk and what ive actually heard the Seymore Duncan Blackouts Active Pickups have been given a great rating throughout all reviews. But if i was again on a budget id buy them again, im happy with them and I would definatly recomend them to anyone who wants to play heavy.

If they were stolen, they better leave the guitar!!!
I've been playing for about 7 years total (5 year break when my daughter was born). I also own an ESP EC-400VF and an M-255 with Duncan Designed HB-103s. Those are decent if you need to replace some busted pickups or really crappy stock pickups ilke the BCRich BDSMs, or you dont want to spend a lot of money. But dont spend more than $40 for a set (Duncan Designed). I'm sorry I payed $40 for these BCRich pickups.
My Ibanez RG120 is my project guitar that I got several years ago at a pawn shop before I knew what to look for. So I bought these pickups for it after realized that it's not a total hunk of junk, a little work and some decent electronics and this guitar has great potential. As I said above the originals were rusting out. The bridge pickup was only working as a single coil. The neck sounded good, but needed to be replaced. So I looked and did some comparing and read lots of reviews. I could not find any installed on a BCRich in a store so I could not test them anywhere. And I was looking for bargain pricing because I had just removed the crappy job the guy before me did, when he tried to install a crappy floyd rose wanna be. And I had permamently mounted a generic Fender style bridge in place. So I wasn;t sure if it was even set right and I didnt want to spend a lot of money on electronics and the damn thing not even be playable. But I wanted decent sound so I found these online for $40. And then I found the Twin Blade mini-humbucker for $15.
So I take them to Sam Ash to have them installed. When I finally get them home to test it out I get very dissappointed. The best pikcup I have in this guitar is the $15 Twin Blade mini-bucker. These things a noisey, and very thin sounding, no depth of tone. They are very trebly, no mids and even the lows are trebly. The Blade has better clarity, better tone, more full sounding (more mids, decent lows and highs), and wider range!!!
To say that the Duncan Designed Distortion set is "great" for metal is a good reach, but to say that these are "good" for anything is a lie. Dont waste your money or time. If you want bagain pricing on decent pickups, go with Duncan Designed models. Those sound good and they are inexpensive, BCRich BDSMs are cheap.

I've played my guitar with a marshall mg30dfx, marshall jcm800 4104, line6 spider III 75.
I play metal, especially doom/death. Many people say that those pickups sound good if you play metal.. but the truth is that they really suck! I've never heard and I can't imagine something worst. No versatility, lack of expressiveness and definition
TERRIBLE

Humbucking - passive - high resistance - wound with really thin wire to get a high resistance without putting a lot of wire on the bobbin - bad move.

Pairs came in Mockingbird and Bich NJ Classics -they all sound bad.

High output muddy, no harmonic overtones - dead. My nephew had a beast that had the same lame tone. I wish I had gotten him to try some different pickups before he traded it.

These are the worst pickups I've ever heard. I've tried Duncans dimarzios, gibson, armstrong, Kinman, GFS, Highorders, etc. I replaced these with some moderately hot Highorders in one and GFS Memphis Retrotrons in the other and the guitars came alive. My understanding is the BDSM's are wound with 43 AWG wire. No wonder they sound bad! It's not hard to make a descent sounding pickup. C'mon, guys. Spend the extra 50 cents on a little more copper to wind a decent pickup.

it was origionally in my bc rich kit rae umethar v
it was in bridge
i am replacing this pickup with emg 81 mainly for reasons of higher output plus i needed some pickups for a les paul
i dont know if any artists use the standard

it was a med high output pickup but i had it very close to the strings
i use it with a marshall tsl 100 JCM 2000 with a line 6 pod v2.0 infront
it has a really good sound i love the fact its very crunch but i think the high end sound could be a little bit better as its a bit muddy up the top end of the fret board hence why it has been demoted to a neck pick up on a les paul im building which will be paired with a passive EMG in the bridge
i think it is actuly unsitable for bridge as the soloing dosent give u the full range

if it was destroyed or stolen it would be replaced with an EMG 85 or 89
ive been playing for around 8 years and im 16 and my father works in the music buissiness so i have played ALOT of instruments and seen alot of pickups and this is a good mtal pickup
i love its crunch but dont like the fact it lacks on picking up harmonics or fret tapping very well.
i have the sound i want and its EMG so i reccomend an 81 or 89
yes this is a good pickup for a neck pickup but not a bridge

its a passive humbucking pickup the cheaper range of bc rich pickups. somebody at a guitar shop told me the bronze series pickups have much lower output than the platinum series mine is a platinum series one.
i dont know any of the impedence specifications.

it came with a one in neck and one in bridge on my bc rich warlock (platinum) brandnew so thats pretty much that.

when i first got it i couldnt really tell a difference between that and my single coils of my strat. (just to inform you i had only been playing a year at this point.) I lowered the action on the guitar and raised the pickups as high as i couldnt before they touched the string at the 24th fret this increased the output loads and i mean these where hot. i play metal pantera/metallica stlye these pickups did the job the neck was very bassy and punch a bit muddy but i imagine it could have been worse it was great fopr the domination riff. the bridge pickup was fairly trebly not a huge amount of midrange from either of them it had a good crunch sound to it again gd for pantera great for solos. i also got a good clean tone from bridge and a sort of muffled bluesy tone from the neck. i had it running straight into a line 6 spider 2 30 watt. i have later got a boss mt-2 metalzone which i use for my distortion cuz the amp was to fuzzy it sounds great a lot fo feedbakc when your not playing but thats mainly the pedal and it has stacks of sustain. However because i adjusted the pickup hight if i play the neck pickup past fret 12 it soprt of fuzzes out and you just get feed back the sustain is awfull but im ok with that because i dont use the neck past 12th fret. i cant really remember what it was like brand enw and i cant be fagged to lower for pickups for this review i think it was pretty good though. overall these pickups where very good could be used for any playing stlye i have recently changed my bridge pickups for a seymour ducnan invader and i am very dissapointed in it. either i got to attached to this pickup or bc rich pickups actually are imazing but there is not much difference between this and an invader.

if it was destroyed or stolen i probabaly wouldnt buy it again it would probably rather hard to get hold of one there not the most well known pickups in the world. and i would just replace it with somthing else maybe a dimebucker i wanna try one of them out..
but overall for a stock beginners metal pickup and metal guitar i highly recommend try a bc rich they are a lot more than just the looks.

I'd get it back! it was a miracle I found this guitar
1/5 years, BCRich warlock, vintage raider, squier hello kitty strat, Ikea acoustic
I love the edgy sound and brash tone. I hate the bcrich logo on the covers
I compared it to a 1970's gibson explorer a danelectro thing and an Ibaner GIR. It is quite a good guitar and it isn't as muddy as an ancient explorer
I wish it had chrome covers
this is a good sound yep but not tip top
Buy a bcrich, you'd be surprised at how classy they can be.

Comments: If this was lost, stolen, broken, etc... I would probably replace with a Kent Armstrong Ultra Distortion. This is a good pickup but I'd like more output. For now this is great. It suits my style and that's all I really care about.
