It's a slighty overwound 4 conductor, wax potted BG Bucker pickup set. The neck pickup is also the perfect mate to a Seymour Duncan JB.
Instrument
:
I installed the slightly overwound BG Bucker neck in the neck and a SD JB in the bridge. I replaced the stock pickups because they were not very inspiring as far as their tone went in this axe.

I installd the slightly overwound BG Bucker neck in the neck and in the bridge I tried a SD JB I had laying around. BOY AM I GLAD I DID! As the two perfectly compliment each other. The BG Bucker set sounded great on it's own, don't get me wrong, but in this paticular axe I had already installed the JB, and I wasn't happy with either the Jazz or the '59 in the neck position....just didn't sound like a matched set....So for the heck of it I decided to try the slightly overwound BG Bucker neck pickup....The rest is history.
The slightly overwound BG Bucker neck and the JB are the perfect compliment to each both power and tone wise. One awesome hard rockin' set capable of covering a wide range of great useable tones. A perfect set!

Easy 11 as a set with the JB. Been payin' for 20+ years. I am a die hard tone junkie. I have a ton of killer gear. The slightly overwound BG Bucker neck is the perfect compliment to the Seymour Duncan JB. If you like the JB, you'll love this set!

Reverse Zebra set of standard BG Buckers passive humbuckers.

Installed in my Carvin CT4, replaced both neck and bridge pups with the BG's. Was looking for an upgrade to the stock Carvin pups which are decent at best.

The tone is remarkable. The stock Carvin C22's are kind of muddy/muffled in the mids and highs especially with higher gain levels where the BG's stay very defined and open sounding with a lot of distortion. Every note in a chord rings out. Very warm and defined low end that is tight and not boomy or muffled sounding. The cleans are warm and very clear and sparkly without being too bright or harsh. The neck pup has a great jazz tone with the tone rolled down and with the tone up does a great bluesy lead tone with a little dirt.
They also sound very good split. The bridge is a bit thin when split but it does a passable strat-bridge tone. The neck and middle positions are the best I've ever heard from a split humbucker, it has a tele-ish vibe in my CT4 that is very usable.
Probably not the best bet for metal but they do stay very defined through my laney with the boost on and the gain dimed. You might want something else if your bread and butter is modern metal but these will pull it off as good as or better than any "PAF" styled humbucker I've heard.

Been playing for 14 years and use these in my CT4 mainly through a Laney TT50, mostly playing classic rock, blues and a little country. These nail the 60's and 70's classic rock tones IMO and sound great for jazz, blues. These pups sound great for all that and can also handle heavier stuff like early Metallica without turning to mush with high gain. Very satisfied with this purchase.

A set of chrome covered BG Buckers by BG Pickups, hand-wound by Bryan Gunsher and using an Alnico V magnet. These pickups are potted.

I put these in my new Epiphone G-400 (SG). I replaced both of the original stock humbuckers in the guitar as they were extremely muddy, although I pretty much had planned on doing so when I bought the guitar. I've never heard a good stock humbucker on a regular Epiphone guitar, but their P-90s can be fairly convincing.

AHHH! This is where it gets good! Plugging it in for the first time made me think this was a whole different guitar! Very chimy and clear with a balanced mids and a pretty tight bottom end. Open chords and jazz voicings have very good string definition (even with a fair amount of gain) although not as good as some other humbuckers I've heard. I play a variety of modern rock, indie, classic rock, and blues rock and with the big upgrade in sound this guitar will be hard to put down for a while. Whether playing clean with open chords or rockin' with lots o' gain and power chords these pickups sound marvelous!
My local guitar tech and I compared the sound of my Epiphone G-400 with the BG Buckers with his Gibson '59 Les Paul Reissue that had Gibson '57 classics in it and the sound was remarkably comparable!

These pickups were EXACTLY what I was hoping that they'd be. Fairly bright with lots of string definition and clarity and they sound just as good clean as they do when using them dirty. I really like these pickups and haven't found a negative thing to say about them yet.
I originally heard about BG Pickups from the guys at the Harmony-Central forums, and every positive thing they had to say was dead on. Excellent customer service, really good price and best of all GREAT TONE! If you're looking for any sort of pickup, Bryan can make them for you! Fantastic deal!

Classic/vintage humbucker with wiring to allow coil-splitting if needed. It is a vintage, medium output pickup great for that 60's-70's PAF tone.
Instrument
:
I installed the pickup in my G&L "Bluesboy" ASAT(Tele) in the neck position. It is the perfect output with the stock ASAT tele bridge pickup. The tones are very well balanced and quite articulate when played clean. I was thrilled with the tone being bright enough to sing through in the neck position. Other brand-name pickups seemed to dark and muddy in the tele neck position.

The pickup sings through very well in the neck position, and matches the tele bridge pickup perfectly. The tone is well balanced and articulate clean. This humbucker sounds great when overdriven. I push it through a Frenzel Deluxe Plus amp and Weber/Eminence speakers. The well-rounded tone overdrives terrific with no "piercing" highs or "muddy" bass tones. The tone is great for classic rock and blues.

I am definitely buying again. I want to load my Les Paul with these PAF humbuckers as well. I have been playing off and on for over 30 years and love a good overdriven PAF tone. I have used Duncan and Rio Grande pickups on my ASAT tele and was somewhat pleased; however these BG pickups have them beat. Give Bryan a try and enjoy hand-wound vintage toned humbuckers in your guitar for that classic sound!

I installed these in a Epiphone Les Paul Custom SG body style.
These pickups are in the neck and bridge. Covered the center hole with a plastic piece. Center humbucker got in my way.
Replaced the stock pickups.
Changed the stock pickups because they were very muddy sounding. I am ordering another set to replace my Toni Iommi pickups in my Toni Iommi Signature Epiphone for a back up at live gigs.

The output level is similar to a Gibson 57.
I'm using a Line 6 AX2 212 and A Peavey XXL half stack/full stack with a Ibanez Tube Screamer TS 9.
The tone is balanced very well giving me an excellent vintage vibe with excellent cleans, and amazing sounding with some overdrive. My band mates are amazed with my new tone compared to my Toni Iommi pickups. My guitar tone finally cuts through great with the band at practice and live. These pickups have great punch when needed and clean up great to.
I mostly play hard rock, classic rock, blues and some heavy metal tones.

If it was destroyed or stolen I would definitely get another set. I'm getting another set for my Epiphone Toni Iommi Signature for my back up guitar, replacing the Toni Iommi pickups.
I've been playing for about 20 plus years, but only about the last 7 years have I been playing more seriously.
Gear= Epiphone Les Paul Custom SG body style, Toni Iommi Signature Epiphone, Line 6 AX2 212 as my main rig and A Peavey XXL half stack/full stack Ibanez Tube Screamer TS 9. 1973 Gibson SG.
I love the warmth and voicing with excellent cleans and excellent punch when needed on overdrive channels. Very quiet pickup with no hum!
I'm comparing these pickups all through my 2 amps, with my friends 2 Gibson Standard SG's 1 with p90's and 1 with 57's and my Toni Iommi. I've had the pleasure of playing many high end guitars and theres nothing like a custom hand wound set of pickups. I got to play this guitar through my friends tube Marshall stack and I was completely blown away at how nice and powerfull my tone sounded. And through my Amps I've never had a better sounding tone.
My tone search is over for now. And when I try something new I will be getting another set of BG Pickups. A great product, excellent service and great pricing.
I cant wait to split these pickups with push pulls.
