Features :
~17k ohm passsive humbucker, 4 conductor leads so wiring it for coil splitting is easy.

Instrument :
Bridge position in a Carvin DC 135T, replaced the stock Carvin C22B.

Sound : 10
It is louder than the two single coils in my DC135T, but balances nicely when split. It is a very defined pup. Some high output alnico pups get mushy but this keeps the warmth and richness of the highs while providing more output. Very responsive, harmonics jump out and the tone is complex with great overtones and character that you don't get with EMG's, Seymour Duncan Blackouts.

Compared to my BG-Bucker equipped guitar this has more low end thump and a slightly crunchier overall tone, but it isn't a one trick pony at all. It sounds great clean, very round and not sterile at all. It does classic rock and blues easily and cleans up great with the volume knob. The split tones are outstanding as well and surprising full, probably due to the high output. It is not a "scooped" voiced pup like the dimebucker or some other ceramic magnet pups intended for heavy music but it stays tight and articulate at all gain levels. Like I said, this pup is great for much more than just chug-chug palm muted brutality.

Overall Rating : 10
I would definitely buy another one. I prefer the Hellabucker to the Screamin' Demon and JB humbuckers I've used in the past, and the fact that it is cheaper makes it a complete no brainer. I highly reccomend this pickup.

Features :
17k Passive Bridge Humbucker.

Instrument :
This is in the bridge position of my Agile AL3100W, along with a BG Bucker in the neck. Both are coil-tapped, and sound great. If you require a bit more versatility from your bridge pickup, I recommend tapping it.

Sound : 9
Agile LP Copy>PODxt>Peavey XXX 212 combo w/EL34's. Also wik: DOD EQ pedal, Bad Monkey OD, Boss HM-2 Distortion.

The description on the website is very accurate. This thing is quite a beast.

For sure, a hot pickup but it isn't your typical one-trick pony. I've had trouble finding a bridge pickup that doesn't sound muddy in my LP copy. Either they're too dark, too flabby, too compressed, etc. I will be keeping this one, it's what I've been looking for.

Very articulate pickup. Machinegun Palm Muting is really a joy with this thing. Solos are great (my solos are not great, but if you are good at soloing, your solos will sound really good through this pickup), harmonics are very easy. Sussssstaaaaaaaaiiiiiiinnnnnnn is crazy, and the overall 'thickness' of the tone is very pleasing. Weird chords are clear (a rarity for hot pickups).

Great for death/black/grind/thrash and regular old Hard-rock and Heavy metal, depending on your amp and how you EQ it. It even sounds good paired with my Boss HM-2 for old school Swedish Death Metal.

A great pickup for anyone that wants a hot bridge humbucker, but doesn't want to sound like everyone else (EMG). It's also about the same price as a Duncan humbucker. Get one before Bryan comes to his senses and starts charging more.

Overall Rating : 9
I don't know if Bryan offers this humbucker in f-spacing, but I would buy another one.

For comparison, I have another Agile LP-copy with the new Duncan Blackouts, and the Hellabucker is crunchier and clearer than the Blackouts Bridge pickup. It also sounds really good coil-tapped.

I picked the Hellabucker because I've purchased my share of pickups from the big names, and found them lacking something in one way or another.

Features :
Passive Bridge Humbucker
D.C. resistance : 17Kohms
Magnet : Alnico 5

Instrument :
I installed the pickup on an Ibanez 260FM model (bridge position)
I replaced the original True Duo humbucker.
At this time,I've replaced only this pickup on this guitar.(The 2 other ones are the original AHS1 and AHS2; they will be replaced soon...)
I changed the pickup simply to have a decent sound on bridge position, mainly in distortion mode.

Sound : 10
THe output is pretty high.
Until now I've played this pickup with a Polytone and Fender amps, with a Marshall JackHammer and a Vox V810 pedal.
Very balanced tone, perhaps with a little bit more midrange and bass.
It's not a trebly pickup, that screams.
THe sustain is incredible.
In fact, I agree with almost everything found in the description, on BG pickups site.
"Tight, fat chord tones, great for detuning. This pickup has great harmonics and overtones and sustain for days. This pickup has excellent split tones"
THe tightness is the only thing I don't really agree at 100%
Is I said, there is a goog amount of bass and mids. However, the pickup works very well with low tunings, on distorted mode, that's true.
THe sustain is incredible. And the richness in harmonics is also real.
In fact, the Hellabucker makes remind me 2 other humbuckers I've played in the past; I would say the Seymour Duncan Allan Holdsworth for its smoothness and sustain, and the DiMarzio Air Zone for its tonal character, sustain too and richness in harmonics.
It ' a powerful humbucker, but not really a nasty one, with big attack and bite.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
The hellabucker is an excellent pickup, if you are looking for one with all the qualities I've specified.
For power combined with sustain and some smoothness, it's the pickup you would definitely buy it again if stolen.
THere is nothing to hate with this pickup, when you are looking for this kind of sound.
Though it's described on the site as a metal oriented pickup, I believe it can be an excellent choice for fusion (think Scott Henderson's sound with Tribal Tech).
It's not really it the agressive field, and there is the main thing to have in mind before choosing it.
