Features :
Passive humbucker

Instrument :
Installed into the bridge position of a Washburn Boogie Street Customs, Boogie Bolt Series 2 guitar replacing the Seymour Duncan Dimebucker. The pots had been replaced with CTS 500K pots and a .22uf Hovland cap in a previous upgrade.

The neck is the stock Seymour Duncan 59 which is a nice sweet pickup.

Sound : 10
Sounds great. I can get virtually any tone from the setup. From a nice clean that's warm and organic to full on modern metal. It has lots of balls. Nice punch that's still vocal and tight.

I play tube amps. One a JSX 120W head w/ matching JSX 4 x 12 cab. I also tried it with my practice amp a Peavey Ultra 60. Sounded really rich with both. No drive pedals really needed here although with the small combo I do use a death metal pedal simply because the clean on this amp is great and the ultra channel is not metal. The pickup definitely sends it over the top but in a good way.

I was surprised at how well it cleaned up as well. Very nice. I would definitely upgrade pots and caps if going with any pickup upgrade, it just doesn't make much sense to spend big bucks for the pickup(s) and use crappy pots and caps.

Overall Rating : 10
I really like this pickup and hope it doesn't get 'lost'! I might be tempted to try a miracle man but I don't know, this is my sound. I have a lot of different high end pickups. some passive, some active, and I love each of them for what they are. Like I said no point upgrading if you have cheesy pots and caps.

I even upgraded the bridge form the washy licensed floyd to an original floyd w/ d-tuna and a trem-setter. Sucker's there!

Follow up from previous review.

I made a mistake in the last review, I was talking about the Gary Moore Wild Frontier album. Sorry about that, I got really carried away while writing the review. But make no mistake, the Cold Sweat RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Features :
* Passive Humbucker
* DC: 14k (according to the Bare Knuckle Pickups website)

Instrument :
* 2nd hand 1997 Epiphone Les Paul
* Brigde
* Stock pickup
* Wolfetone Pickup on the neck, customised to get that Gary Moore sound.
* I don't know any artists who use this pickup but if John Sykes is reading this, give Tim a call and fit these Bad Boys in your Les Paul and create some Thunder & Lightnin', you will thank him for it.
* Epiphone Stock Pickup, enough said.

Sound : No Opinion
* Very Hot but it cleans up nicely.
* Line 6 floor Pod, Roland Cube 15 and my friend's Marshall stack (I had to do it for this pickup).
* The treble, bass and mids are very well blanced.
* This pickup can do Shred, Thrash Metal, Gary Moore style blues and striaght up hard rock. But I am sure it could do.
* You could use this in the neck when paired with the War Pig or Miracle Man in the bridge, but there is a neck model of the Cold Sweat available anyway.

Overall Rating : 10
If you are looking for a hot humbucker with a mixture of modern and vintage tones then look no further. With the Line 6 and Cube 15 this pickup is capable of doing some awesome thrash metal sounds which is tight, focused and not sloppy and also ideal for shredding (check out the solo in Holy Wars from the Thunder & Lightning album and you'll know what I mean).

The Cold Sweat can give some very usable clean sounds, but I rarely use it so there won???t be any further comments on that front.

When plugged into my friend's Marshall Stack it gives you the awesome John Sykes sound from the Thin Lizzy Thunder & Lightning album and Gary Moore sounds from the Final Frontier album.

I would describe the Cold Sweat as cross between the Duncan JB and Gibson 57 pickup on steroids, because the cold sweat can give you a chunky modern sound with a slight vintage bite and whilst being very hot.

If you own a Epiphone, Richwood or a Gibson Les Paul do yourself a favour and invest in the some Cold Sweats, Your guitar will seriously thank you for it and it's worth your money.

Why a lot of manufactures constantly install $hitty pickups is a mystery, even companies like Fender and Gibson install lame pickups in their top of the range models. They???re better off not installing any pickups at all, so we can save our ears from the insulting tones of their shoddy pickups.

Tim is one seriously friendly and helpful fella, ask him what you want and he will tell you. No foolin'!

If it's destroyed or stolen I'd buy another one.

With the Cold Sweat in bridge and the customised Wolftone in the neck I have the best of Sykes and Moore in my Epiphone Les Paul.

NEWS FLASH!!!! I've just ordered a Sinner/Trilogy suite set for my new Richwood Strat, stay tuned folks.
