Features :
Calibrated pair of Steve Stevens Rebel Yell.
Tech Specs: DC: 14.45k/8.3k (bridge/neck)
Magnet: Alnico V.
Four conductor wiring but installed as a straight humbucker ( no coil splitting etc - just the pure sound)

Instrument :
Installed in a 2007 Les Paul Standard. They replaced the existing burstbuckers as the bridge Burstbucker died after 2 years of very low use. This was disappointing but to turn a negative int o a positive, I swapped both Burst buckers out and dropped in the Rebel Yells. I am very glad I did.

Sound : 10
I own several guitars (Fenders , Gibson, Gretsch, Belman, PRS etc). The Les Paul rarely got used as it didn't inspire me as much as some others. But I dropped in the Bare Knuckles and
Holy Cow! The lester is now close to my best sounding guitar. Catch me on the right day and it is the best. It is the only guitar I feel i can pick up and play anything nn it and it sounds good if not F _ _ _ ing amazing.

A strong punchy high gain sound with loads of single note clarity.

This is the first time I have been inspired to write a review. They are that good.

Overall Rating : 10
If stolen, I would cry like a baby and then get in touch with Tim Mills and order s new set.
I've been playing on and off for 6 years (with a 20 year break in between year 3 and 4!)
I own too much gear but is mostly high end stuff and these pups are as good as any (even my PS DGT or Nash Strat -my 2 previous faves)

Features :
Calibrated Set, Black Covers, laser etched Railgun.
Passive, of course.
I use it with a three way switch, Volume pot and Tone Push/Pull (Coil Split).
Guitar: Fender CS Elite Showmaster (H-H).

Instrument :
Funny Story..I bought this CS Fender and never liked the Seymour`s that came with her (SH-1 + SH-4). The Sound was very deep and with higher gain it got all muddy.
So I tried several sets of hummies..til I found out about Bare Knuckles.

The Steve Stevens Signature Set cought my eye, because of the nice finishes and the distinctive Sound.
And guess what they deliver...

Sound : 10
Nice and shiny cleansound, with a sparkle and shimmer.
If you krank up the Volume you will wake up the Beast!
Ride em til you get into that Hard-Rock feeling, dude!
You will get in between those sounds very easy too, just use your Fingers.

The Coil-Split doesnt give you a sc sound, but it thins out the sound very good.
I play clean, blues, rock... mostly through Fender Amps.

Overall Rating : 10
Best support ever!
I phoned with Tim Mills for a while, he mailed extra pics, was very friendly and helped me get the right hummies.
Shipping was very fast and the price is not asked too much for what you get!

I wouldnt even consider getting those again.. I would do it right away!
Friend of mine will buy a set too... its the sound that gets you.

Features :
Calibrated set of 53mm Rebel Yell Humbuckers with Burnt Chrome finish used with 5 way rotary switch.

Instrument :
I installed this on a 20th anniversary PRS Custom 24 to replace the stock HFS and Vintage Bass pickups. Stock pickups are nice but didn't have the bite I was looking for. Calibrated for neck and bridge positions.

Sound : 10
Holy ****! These pickups absolutely rip. The first thing I noticed was the sound. Almost like taking a blanket off of the cabinet. Sound is very full. Second thing I noticed was the clarity of the notes. Everything shines through. I'm playing this through a Bogner Fish with a VHT 2502 into a Marshall 2x12 with Greenbacks and a Marshall 4x12 with Vintage 30's. Absolutely brutal sound. Great low mids from this pickup for some nice chunky sounds if you want and very articulate. Can't say enough about these pickups. Fantastic for all types of rock. Neck position is very warm. Can get a fantastic bluesy sound out of these and they split very well.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for 23 years and I've played a ton of gear. Every once in a while you get a piece of gear that you are completely blown away by. This is one of those times. Like I said it was almost like taking a blanket off of my cabinets. Sound came alive when I installed these. Anyone looking for an unbelievable upgrade to your sound needs to check these out. Pass on the SD's and the actives that are all gain and no tone. These give you the best of both worlds. Power and the purity of tone.

Features :
Passive Humbucking pickup. Chrome cover, 2 conductor...Classic Look, however, different cover and conductor options are available for for this and every other bare knuckle model.

Instrument :
I installed this in a 2000 Gibson Les Paul Standard, in the bridge position. I am replacing the stock, Gibson 498T. The pickup in the neck is a gibson stock 490R. This is the Steve Stevens model but I am not sure if he uses this pickup. The pickup was replaced because I have heard so many great things about bare knuckle pickups. They seem to make humbuckers for any style of music.

Sound : 10
The output level is great! Not loud...reduced output over the stock Gibson. By having a lower output pickup, you can really hear the natural tonal characteristics warmth detail and clarity shine through. I am using this with a Johnson Millenium 150 with vintage mullards, 2xv30's and a handwired Marshall 4x12 configured in stereo. All of my cables are monster. For gigs, I use a Marshall TSL 100 with Vintage Mullards and JJEL34's through the handwired Marshall cabinet. The tone's I can get with this pickup and set up are phenominal! The pickup brings detail, warmth, balance, punch, organic-ness to my sound I could'nt get with the stock Gibson pickup. The mid's sound really organic and powerful. It's does exactly what I want it to do for any application. I play all sorts of stuff. Metal, Reggae, punk, rock, surf. This handles all with ease! I'm not sure if there is an application where this pickup would sound slightly bad....Maybe hardcore death metal...you might want to try a bareknuckle nailbomb for that.

Overall Rating : 10
I would def buy it again. But I am also up for trying bareknuckle stuff in my other guitars. For my number one LP, the Steve Stevens is it! I've been playing 13 years and have owned a crap load of gear. I feel that there is nothing like a good hand made pickup. Tim at Bareknuckle is doing it better then a lot of these big pickup companies and even a lot of the small ones as well. He gives great service, and a great selection....and he's a nice dude. He recommended I try this pickup when I told him what kind of sound I was after. The price was more then fair, and it arrived from the UK less then 2 weeks after I ordered it! This pickup is it! I can't ask for more. End of Story!

Steve Stevens Rebel Yell Humbucker Pickup

Instrument :
Washburn Steve Stevens signature model SS40

Sound : 10
These pickups are killer!
Amazing clarity on all levels, even low end with loads of distortion is razor sharp.
Recorded 2 tracks into Logic and barely had to do anything to the sound at all.
These pickups just sing, blows the old SD JB's out of the water.
Well worth the money, I shall definately be keeping these in my guitar.
Top job Bare Knuckles!!

Overall Rating : 10
Ive been playing for 15 years now and have tried many types of pickups and these are by far the best ive heard. Would have liked to have the raygun covers with mine but dealer only had plain black ones.

Features :
Humbuckers are clear and just rock.

Instrument :
I put the RY`s in a Washburn USA Custom shop. Billy O`Reilly at B&D guitars in Phoenix installed them. Great job.

Sound : 10
Levels are great.Marshall stack. Classic rock comes alive with the RY`s.

Overall Rating : 10
Billy O. at B%D swears by these pickups. I had them put in cool old red washburn. At first he said it will be like putting a HEMI in a Pinto. But after he was done, even he was amazed at the greatness of the sound, looks, etc. of the axe !!!

Features :
This review is about the Rebel Yell calibrated set (Steve Stevens's signature pickups). Humbuckers of course ...
This set of calibrated pickups is handwound in the UK.

Instrument :
I replaced the Seymour Duncan Alnico II pro's in my 2008 Slash Gibson Les Paul Standard USA signature guitar !
I love Slash's sound, but for me there's something missing in the frequency spectrum of the SD Alnico II pros (no mids !).
In my other Les Paul Standards, I have tried different Seymour Duncan pickups (JB, 59, EMG's), but I never was totally won ...
I tried some DiMarzios too, and I found them ALL sterile and lifeless.
I do like Gibson's Classic 57 pickups, but they sound lifeless compared to the Bare Knuckles (soon to be replaced by BK's).
The only pickups that I will not replace on one of my Les Pauls is the SD EVH '78 Custom shop calibrated set (these sound great and are hand wound as well).

Sound : 10
It sounds like a hot PAF, very balanced with harmonics flying everywhere. The mids are very present, but not as much as a SD JB.
Bass is very tight, the pickup has a lot of presence and bite.
It works well with high gain amps, but sounds amazing with a vintage Marshall Plexi or JMP (think AC/DC).

I play Hard rock, rock and blues.

The neck pickup is just what you would expect from a vintage PAF, very warm sounding with just the right presence ( not overly bassy).

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I would definitly buy these again.
I was pleasently surprised to see the neat little box these came in, and to find a free guitar pick and set od Rotosound strings (0.10-046) !
Plus these come with a lifetime guarantee.
And there is something to be said about the custumor'service here:
- Tim Mills is a very friendly chap and he knows his craft.
- My pu's arrived a week after I ordered them directly from BK 's internet shop (tracking number was available).

I have been playing since 1983.
Sadly, I have only seen this kind of dedication and attention to detail onfew occasions.
Way to go Bare Knuckle !

PASSIVE HUMBUCKER

Instrument :
I have been searching for a pick up to install in my 92' Gibson LP Classic plus bridge.

This guitar has a very thin neck so it sounds a little thin compared to some others.

I have been through the usual pickups which I wont name, some better than others.

I have an original 74' 20th ann black beauty that sounds amazing,so there are some big shoes to fill!

I heard about this pick up from a couple of different well respected sources with much acclaim so I thourght I would give it a try.

Sound : 10
I was hoping that this pick up would give me bigger fuller more ambiant and tonal sound like I get from my black beauty.

IT DID !!!!

Wowww this pickup really delivers the goods.
As far as tone --bass,mids,highs I dont know were to start its all there its thick rich and still with enough presence to be perfectly clear and articulate.

I have an early 70' Marshall super lead 100w and an Ulbrick Stadium 80 (the best amp I have ever heard and Ive had most of em)an it sounds huge through either.

This is really suited to hot rodded rock players that really want tone.

Overall Rating : 10
I would replace it in a heart beat if it were lost or stolen.

I have been playing for 25 years and giging for most of that and I have been through a truck load of gear in that search for tone, this pickup is outstanding in my opinion.

I also found them quick to respond to my enquiry and helpful.
I purchased through there website as I am I Australia, I had it in about 10 days.

The next time I need a pickup this will be my first point of call.

Features :
Passive open coil calibrated humbucker set

Instrument :
installed in a gibson les paul standard, replacing the standard fitted gibson pickups.

Sound : 10
I liked the sound of the LP before I even considered replacing the pickups, but a friend told me about Bare Knuckle and I thought I'd browse through their web site. I liked what I saw straight away and went ahead a bought a set.
The sound I get from these pickups is incredible!! I not an expert on sound, but when I play the guitar live it sounds awesome, and other musicians have complemented me on the sound. The tone output is truly astounding, deep rich low going right up to an amazing soloing high.
I think that whatever set you get from Bare Knuckle you wont be dissapointed!!

Overall Rating : 9
After buying my first set from BKP I'm tempted to change the pickups in my other guitars! They look great behind the strings, and from all the different covers available you're certain to find something you like.
The customer servise is great, and a LIFETIME waranty!!! A little on the expensive side - but as always... you get what you pay for!!

Features :
Already Stated below...

Instrument :
Mahogamy Body Fernandes, soud comp??rable to one of these very round and Dark les pauls.
The stock Gotoh Pickups were actually very good, but lacke dof clarity.
Sound was a little Muddy. Only a little.

Wanted to try these for a long time so....
Bridge has a Pearly gates now. More on that later.

Sound : 9
The sound is tight, more output than a standard PAF but still not a scorcher, vintage hot you now, comparable to a PAF pro in output.

The highs are clear and ring like a bell in clean sound. Teh bass is defined, tight, yet keeps this growl and bassy sound you expect from an alnico humbucker.

The soud give syou a very defined runch, very clear, nice violon like sngle notes and this AC DC sound.

It's very clear. It's actually everything i expected from a Humbucker pickups. But for some reason, it still doesn't work for me.

Overall Rating : 8
Well as i just said the sound is really good, clear, balanced, defined, and can easily perfom both vintage and modern sounding music.
It could be the perfect pickup, but it didn't work for me.....

My fernandes has a floyd rose trem. This kind of trem makes teh sound less warm. This pickup has a flaw: the sound is a little cold.

So overall it's a perfect pickup and probably works well in a Les Paul or similar, but in mmy fernandes i wanted a little warmer sound, like my pearly gates in the neck.

So i like the pickup, but there's one pickup i like better: the Seymour Duncan Super V (customl shop). In short, the super V retains the PAF vibe, but with more growl, biote and clarity. That make your Les Paul type guitar sound like a really vintage instrument, but with a more agressive edge. Especially great when playing in Crunch, Deep Purple / AC/DC type of sound, but also like george lynch does, with modded marshalls or with an overdrive pedal, it makes you riffs soud heavier without even turning up te gain.

So i guess this is one of the best pickups on the market, but doesn't
really gives me what i wanted in that particular guitar. I'll give it a second chance and try it in another instrument.
