These are basically vintage styled passive single coil pickups for strats, available in various fetching colours and in calibrated sets (i had mine all wired into a rather pimp scratchplate with full aluminium shielding for a small amount extra which was totally worth it as Im not some kind of electrical genius.)These pickups are totally handmade and ooze quality- they are the real deal.
The pickups themselves have hand bevelled staggered alnico 2 magnets- I went for the reverse wound, reverse polarity option.
Instrument
:
I installed these into a brand new fender Mexican classic 60s player strat- once I prized the fender open I had a good look at the scratchplate assemblies for a bit of a comparison and the bareknuckle set impressed- everything???s neatly attached, well assembled etc, I???ve got faith that the electrics wont fizz up and die on me.
I don???t know exactly what the stock pickups were but they were not up to the job- but what can you expect on a guitar you paid ??370 for new ey? The improvement is massively noticeable.

The output is not too hot, very vintage sounding, VERY GOOD. I???m wacking it through a Fender Hotrod Deville 4x10 and have played it through an old Fender champ thing, great sounds all round!
I play a variety of styles of music, but primarily big anthemic type indie stuff and retro sounding bluesy stuff. It???s a great match and makes my guitar into a versatile tool, Id trust my guitar with anything now- it has that proper strat sound.
The important thing to add here is that all settings with these pickups work brilliantly- there are no ice pick piercing screams and brittle sounds, it???s a rich sound that is what you want a strat to sound like. Id go as far as to say that these are the best sounding pickups I???ve heard ??? they make my ??370 guitar sound like a ??1500 guitar.

Would deffo buy again- no question about it.
Ive been playing 9 years and own/have owned various USA, mex & jap fenders, plus a few gibsons, a taylor 310, some crap epiphones, danelectros, yamahas etc.
I am totally satisfied with these pickups and would like to fit all my guitars with a set- my advice is buy these- they will improve the tone of your guitar massively- FACT.

Reason for pickup change: I was basically not satified with the tone from my old pickups, the bridge had a lovely woody tone but the middle and neck were dull sounding.
Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: These pickups are medium output, the emphasis is more on tone than pre volume
Tone: Balanced with all notes, bass to treble sparkling through
Sonic evaluation: I am using a Cornford MK50 and a Hellcat. The pickups are great, they really sparkle with pure tone and give a really clear sounmd that picks out all your notes with real richness
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Good match for blues, jazz, rock n pop, maybe not heavy heavy metal!

Comments: I would give the pickups a 10 out of 10 based on their capability to reproduce wonderful tone.
