Bartolini Implant Preamp

Reason for pickup change: Without it..the piezo sounded like a telephone conversation. they needed help.

Perceived output level: Nice boost in vol.
Tone: Even refined sound acroos the spectrum except for BIG low end thump at about 100hz...maybe due to saddles and not preamp...hard to tell.
Sonic evaluation: Used with a good PA (JBL, CROWN, etc) this onboard preamp really helped make the piezo saddles sound better. Certainly some kind of preamp NEEDS to be used (for boost and EQing the brittleness out). But the low end thump bothered me. I called Bartolini many,many times and never got any calls back. I spoke to others who had dealt with Bartolini..same story. I recalled trying to reach him 8years earlier on another product...some things never change. Good product...questionable support. I tore this entire system out of my guitar...very complicated and never quite "there".
