Features :
Passive humbucking bridge-position pickup. Not sure of the specs, but I installed these in order to chill out my Gibson.

Instrument :
1985 Gibson ES-335. This is a bridge-position pickup that I installed, along with a PBF 55 (neck-position), as replacements for the Gibson Hot Rail originals. The Hot Rails were too hot, in my opinion, and so I could never open up the volume on the guitar without overpowering everything. The Bartolinis put out very well, but are chilled out enough to allow me to get the whole range of tones that come from the instrument's volume knob.

I had these pickups wired with a new pull-push pot to allow for coil splitting.

Sound : 10
I love these pickups. They produce smooth and well defined tones without the "mellow" tone (muddy, in my opinion) that is usually associated with jazz guitar. I play through a Fender Blues DeVille 410, using an MXR DynaComp, a Boss DD-7, and Danelectro Daddy-O, a ProCo Rat, and an Ernie Ball volume pedal. With this combination I am able to get everything from a beautiful near-acoustic clean tone to a spanky tele-like snarl to a neck-position strat-like tone to a nasty-fat scream. Even with a full-on Rat attack the notes are still well defined.

Overall Rating : 10
I love these things. I am saving to buy a Carvin HF2 Fatboy guitar, and I will probably switch out the pickups for Bartolinis as soon as I can.

Features :
I would like to start off by stating that I am a Bartolini fanatic. I use Bartolini pickups in all of my guitars and basses.
Passive humbucker. No impedance specs due to pickup construction. As in my previous review of the PBF 77 if I knew the specs I would not have purchased this pickup.

Instrument :
Ibanez Mike Mushok Baritone
Bridge position.
Bartolini PBF 77.
Not sure.
PBF 77 was not a good match with the gain level I use. Unacceptable overtones on treble strings.

Sound : 5
Lower output than PBF 77. Higher output than stock pickup.
Tech 21 Trademark 300
This pickup like the PBF77 has a lot of bass. Still too much for my taste. Still had many overtones on treble strings. Not a good match for what I do.

Overall Rating : 5
Would not buy this pickup again. I will get a different Bartolini.
I have been playing for a few years. I am self taught and use a bizarre open tuning. Too much gear to list here.
I love the build quality of this pickup. I hate the sound.
I wish it sounded like all of the other Bartolini's I have.
