Let me start off by saying that I am a Bartolini fanatic and have old style Bartolini's in all of my guitars and basses.
Passive humbucker.Impedance not available due to pickup construction.
If impedance spec would have been available I would not have purchased this pickup.
Instrument
:
Ibanez Mike Mushok Baritone.
Bridge Position.
Original Super 58.
Bartolini PBF 55 in neck position.
Not sure.
Wanted higher quality chrome pickup with low noise and articulation with high gain setting I use.

Very hot pickup.
Tech 21 Trademark 300
Very heavy in the bass. Unacceptable overtones on treble strings. Not usable with my current setup. Although my other Bartolini equipped guitars sound superb with the same amp settings.

Would not purchase this pickup again. I will buy another Bartolini.
I have been playing guitar for quite a few years. I am self taught and use a bizarre open tuning. Too much gear to list here.
What I love about this pickup is the build quality which is second to none. What I hate about it is the sound.
I wish it sounded like my other Bartolini's. I am very disappointed.

Instrument
:
Early 90's USA Jackson Dinky, installed in the bridge. This is the only pickup in the guitar.

Hot output, but not too hot. Prominent bass, clear and focused mids, and a high end that's smooth, even with the amp's presence pegged. I play hardcore/metal, and it's literally the first pickup I have ever played that sounds tight, crunchy, and hot with a lot of gain, and still amazingly sweet when the volume or gain is rolled back. This pickup will not get muddy with even an absurd amount of gain, unless you go wild with the amount of bass you add. When played clean, it's rounder and smoother than you'd expect for a pickup that sounds so tight through a cranked recto. And hitting harmonics with this beast is as easy as it gets. I'll never buy another duncan or dimarzio!

If I get another guitar that lacks in the tone department, I'll be nabbing a Bartolini for sure. I've played nearly 10 years off and on, and I know tone when I hear it. These may cost you a bit more than the other big names, but that'll be the last thing you'll be thinking about once you're plugged in. I've purchased Duncan PAF's, and a Duncan Invader, and this captures the best of both of those.
