This pickup replaced the single Armstrong stock pickup on an Eastman
AR803CE-15 archtop. The stock pickup was boomy in the bass while the mids and highs were thin.

I believe the Benedetto B6 has higher output than the stock Armstrong. The amp I used for comparison was an early 80s Polytone Minibrute II.
The bass was a little lean initially, but the mids and highs were fat and rich. I raised the pickup closer to the lower E string and that did the trick in balancing out the sound.
My intent with this pickup was to capture a nice woody rich jazz archtop tone. This pickup delivered in spades. I can dial in modern to traditional archtop tones and they all sound full, rich and woody, without harshness in the highs or muddy in the lows.
It improved the sound of the guitar 100%.

I would definitely buy this pickup again.
I've been playing for over 30 years and own 5 jazz archtops, amongst other types of guitars. My amp collection includes: Polytone Minibrute II combo, Mega Brain Head, Evans GH200 head, Acoustic Image Clarus I, Rich Raezer Stealth 12 and twin 8, Fuchs ODS 100, Brown Note D'lite 22 and etc.
I would have to agree with Bob Benedetto, this is the best sounding
archtop pickup I have heard, to date.
The one minor drawback is, it doesn't have adjustable pole pieces. Aside from that, my search for the ultimate archtop pickup has ended.
