Comments: Don't think I'd buy this again mainly because of the construction.
Didn't like the gluing to the pickguard idea. Once I tried to polish the pickguard I dropped it breaking the mounting flange (hard plastic)
I was able to repair it but it shorted out after that. I know that's
kinda rough but I think if it was made different I might have been able to continue to use it,plus the fake ebony look seems kinda cheap.
I have the utmost respect for Bennedetto's mastery but this product's
quality doesn't seem to match his guitars. I replaced this with Stewart-McDonald's no-name neck mounted gold pickup and have been happy with it's sound and quality for half the price! So check around,
floating pickups aren't to easy to find but they're out there.

Features
:
Pickup features: Passive suspended mini-humbucker (mounts by flange under pickguard)
Impedence or other specs: ---
Instrument
:
Model of guitar or bass: Ibanez 1992 GB-10NT
Position: neck
Pickup being replaced: stock GB pickup
Other pickups on guitar: none -- neck only
Artists using this pickup: ---
You musical style(s): jazz
Reason for pickup change: The original GB pickups were good but not great. They still sounded "
"stock". The S-6 replacement gives a much truer sound -- closer to the
natural accoustic sound of the instrument.
Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: Average output -- slightly higher than the old GB
Tone: Dark, sweet tone. Very balanced
Sonic evaluation: I play through the GB-10 NT into a Polytone Mini-Brute (sometimes
using the Polytone as a preamp into a Fender '76 Twin, if I need the
power). The Polytone does color the sound, but I can still here a
distict improvement over the old GB pickup.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: This pickup is a perfect match for those playing jazz. It obviously works neck position but I don't know enough about bridge position pickups to judge how good it would be there.

Comments: -I will guard the guitar and this pickup with my life, but if something
did happeen to it I would buy it again.
-I love eveerything about this pickup, from the slick wood-grained casing to the
fat dark tone.
-The suspended pickup market is pretty small so I didn't have a chance
to compare it to anything else. The primary reason I chose it is because of
Bob Benedetto's reputation. Also I've heard the pickup on his own guitars on
various records.
