Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: way hot vintage much more then my 57/62 reissue guitars even a bit more then my texas specials
Tone: these are a bit dark sounding compared to 57/62's but never muddy they are more dark in the midneck position they ballance out well
Sonic evaluation: my guitar is a 94 gray tigerstripped photoflame maple necked strat from japan and I have never seen another like it because of it having a maple neck. the neck and finish is to die for. the only necks I have seen as good is on the new ultra deluxe strats for 1700.00 bucks.
I use a revera 5512 which is a bit darker then a fender deluxe reverb alhough it can get close to the fender sound. I also use a fender cyber champ. which I have set to mock the revera sound but its a bit brighter. the revera is a great amp which has a weber bulldog installed.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: already told you I play country rock jazz. this pickup is almost too hot for me, I have it set a bit close to the strings and it sounds sweet. I hope it doesn't lose that when I set it lower like I had to with my texas specials.

Comments: yes I would buy it again these are a great value if I can use then, they have a lot of carector. they are also quite differn't then other vintage pickups in the way they look. also the adjustment screws that are sent don't look or fit like a strat screw and there were no instructions so you better have some basic knowledge of putting in a set of strat pickups.
