Reason for pickup change: Needed something that made the guitar amp sound as if it had a power attenuator strangling the sound.

Perceived output level: This pickup has slightly less output, yet more distortion than a typical super distortion pickup.
Tone: The tone is characterized by a slight notch around 2KHz, full-bodied yet a little trebly.
Sonic evaluation: I am using Marshall 50W and 100W lead heads with Marshall cabs exclusively.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I prefer rock. This pickup is best wired in series with another neck- or middle-positioned humbucker.
