Tone: lower mids are pronounced more so than biting highs
Sonic evaluation: `79 JMP 100 watt,with greenbacks,a JCM 800 50 watt combo with 65 watt speakers,`73 Fender Bandmaster 2-12,Les Paul,an SG,and a Strat with diMarzio and `69 p/us(neck and mid)

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Blues Rock,Hard Rock,retro`80`s,50`s/60`s,70`s and some newer sounds

Comments: I would buy this p/u in a flash again,but it seems the don`t make them any more.I`ve been playing 26 years,this pick-up has it`s own charm,like no other.I have campared it to many pickups,this one remains supreme to me,I`ve tried seymour`s,diMarzio`s,Gibson`s.I chose this one because it is loud,not distorted,it`s warm,round and when you turn it down it remains warm and round,pile overdrive and gain and it loves it,it still has clarity.I`m satisfied with it,I hope it stays together,it is quite well used.I sure wish Mr Lawrence would make some more.

Reason for pickup change: Was looking for humbucker,saw this one,tried it out,never looked back.

Perceived output level: Loud but controlable, when turned down it`s very clear and musical
Tone: Warm as the Texas sun,balanced,nice mids and bottom, top not biting.
Sonic evaluation: `78 Marshall jmp 100 watt with `68 marshall 4x12 greenbacks.`91 Fender American Standard Strat.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: All sorts,this combination works good for hard rock

Comments: If this were stolen it would be tone death,I`ve had this p/u in almost every guitar I`ve ever owned,since `84 it is so hard to find another one,nothing else compares,and Ive tried many.I have 24 years of and playing this p/u rules.If anybody knows where any more are let me know.I`ve tried the L-500, it works well,but this has the tone!!!
