I had Dave Budzinski put these in a custom made ash body strat for me. I had always wanted a guitar with vintage sound and super clear, clean tone.

These pickups are all tone! I play through a blues jr. and an orange tube combo as well. These pickups make the amps sound absolutely great! I use this guitar for blues mainly, and throught the blues jr., it has great sustain and gives the amp a balsy, bluesy rounded tone. These are also great for clean tone.
Overall, in my opinion, these pickups have a nice bell tone with some meat behind it. They are definately less muddy in the low end than some vintage p-90s as well.

I have been playing for about 15 years or so, and am no expert on gear. However, I do know what good tone sounds like. If you are looking for great vintage tone for blues or classic rock, these pickups will not dissapoint. I have had proffesional blues guys tell me how great my guitar sounds.
