Features :
A set of 3 single coils for standard Strat-type configuration.

I upped the bridge pickup to the "Mongrel" which is a bit higher output with a lot of snarl.

I think all the bridge pickups have base plates on them to bring back some of the low end.

Instrument :
These went into my parts-o-caster comprised mainly of an old piece of alder, all maple neck, and a Callaham bridge assembly.

Sound : 10
I think these were rated around 6.5k for neck and middle and 7.1k for the bridge... don't quote me on that exactly; in any case they aren't super low output and they aren't super high either.

I mainly use a Fender Blues Jr. with tubes from Eurotubes and Blue Dog from Weber speakers as well as an Anderson Amps 20/45 with a cab loaded with a couple of Celestion Greenbacks.

Without trying to oversell them too much, these pickups were my final choice after researching, listening to, and playing: Fenders, Lollars, Fralins, Kinmans, Bare Knuckles, and Wolfetones. Dave's Purebreds have a very balanced consistent tone, and the mongrel has some serious edge to it. They respond very well to touch and handle varying amounts of overdrive with ease.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
These are my favorite strat pickups of all time... as lame as that sounds.
I've been playing since I was 13 and have usually been attracted to Strats and Teles and Fender Super and Twin Reverb amps. I play blues, jazz, rock, and country, and these pickups cover all that ground with ease and poise.

These pickups... get you there. It's that simple. I don't see how anyone could NOT like these. They just work so well. Try them! See for yourself. Once you try Budz, everything else is dudz =P

Features :
Budz Purebred strat single coil pickups
Neck = 6.0K
Middle = 6.3K
Bridge = 7.5K

Instrument :
Installed these in my "Partscaster" Strat, Alder body, maple neck, replaced Lindy Fralin Blues Specials which were a bit muddy in the neck to my ears.

Sound : 10
Excellent "vintage" tone! Bell like tones in the neck, quackalishious in positions 2 and 4, and all the spank I need in the bridge pup. The bridge has a baseplate attached so it's not thin sounding at all. Work well with all my pedals and just so sweet sounding clean! Work really well with all my dirt pedals, Gaspedals,Lovepedals,MI Audio,Blackstone,Skreddy,Tonefactor etc.

Overall Rating : 10
I'd for sure buy these again if I lost them, thinking of buying a second set.
I went through Fender Texas Specials, Kinman MKII Traditionals, O.C. Duffs, Lollar Tweeds, Lollar Blondes, Fralin Blues Specials before sticking with these pickups. Absolutely love 'em!

mid 90s american strat. Switched out my texas specials... they were just to mid/low heavy

Sound : 10
use with OD. These absolutely kill with OD/distortion/fuzz. Clean they sound great, very even. Great for picking, especially chicken pickin, because the response is so tight. Also part of the benefit to the OD. Makes my texas specials feel sloppy.

Using a 59 princeton and a bunch of pedals. Everything sounds wonderful but man, the OD... These are brilliant with a Lovepedal cot50, quite a match.

Overall Rating : 10
Sean from Lovepedal recommended these and he was absolutely correct! They are very balanced and tight is definitely a good word to use. They absolutey get stellar with an OD/dist/fuzz. I ran a Bee Baa, distortion + and a cot50 and each one shines with these PUs. And they aren't bad clean but they really are meant to be at least a little dirty... Kinda like sex.

Budz was SUPER helpful and answered all of my inane questions. I got the Pups VERY fast and don't have a single complaint. I have been playing them like crazy and really given them a serious workout- I couldn't be happier.

I can't help but give 10s because they are exactly as advertised and lived up to my expectations. They aren't cheap but I got quick responses and great service- what I would expect when buying something hand built. I would definitely buy them again.

Single Coil Passive

Instrument :
My 1986 Fender Strat stock p-ups were flat and boring, so I replaced all of them with purebreds

Sound : 9
I'm running this rig through a Peavey 50 watt Classic head with two 4-10 bottoms, and the sound is excellent, very responsive to right hand attack, and organic in nature. These p-ups transformed my guitar.

Overall Rating : 9
If destroyed or stolen I would definately but new ones. I've been playing for over 30 years and own 22 guitars. This strat is definately my "go to rig".
