Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: low output, which is exactly what you want ahead of your amp for true tube tone.
Tone: Bright, strong and full-range.
Sonic evaluation: I'm using a Fender Hotrod Deluxe. My Strats are nice for clean, but the DeArmonds on my Hofner...Rock! This is the true, blues! The combination of this guitar and that amp are the sound to inspire to.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Blues and jazz.
Overall Rating
:
10
Comments: I search for these pu's, whether individual or on some crappy old Harmony/Silvertone/Kay. I've owned everything: '52 to '60 to '72 L.P's; '56 to 68 Strats; highest end Hofners, ES175, ES335, Epi's, Harmony, Kay...no other pu will compare if you want THE sound for blues or jazz.
