Features :
Pickup features: Not a pickup, but a ROTARY switch for Strat-type guitars
Impedence or other specs: Stock appearance, replaces one tone control and accepts original tone control knob

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Made in Mexico Stratocaster
Position: all positions
Pickup being replaced: n/a
Other pickups on guitar: quality, noise suppressing, aftermarket - choose brand on Harmony Central
Artists using this pickup: n/a
You musical style(s): Blues, Rock
Reason for pickup change: I needed more versatility than the Strat (tm.) can currently offer & want to make hot humbucker-like sounds. Also, I like to see what listeners and other guitar players think of an amazing array of versatile tones, all coming from one single guitar.

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: 13 tones instead of 5! The 8 extra are all useful parallel and/or series/out of phase combinations. Sound complicated?. Not really. Following the written instructions and diagrams, I installed the switch in about an hour. Needed only one screwdriver, socket & soldering iron.
Tone: Very expressive. I feel like this Strat wants to play itself now when it comes to sustain. There are all kinfds of neat sounds & overtones, harmonics and "drive" that you wouldn't think possible with this instrument.
Sonic evaluation: This lower-priced Strat and my Fender Blues Deluxe (tm.) amp blows the socks off my more expensive, re-issue, artist signature & custom-made Strats. It can sound like a heavy, humbucker-equipped guitar, airy jazzbox or full metal shredder!

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: It matches my style playing extra loud Blues and Rock music. I can still select the 5 stock sounds, so it's like I gained everything and lost nothing.

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: I have been playing over 30 years, mostly Strat-style guitars, but I have many renowned humbuckered guitars, several brand names. The options made possible by this switch have allowed me to find my sound. I like the Bridge pickup and Neck pickup in series combination.

Comments: This is not a pickup - it's a rotary switch which gives 12 various combinations of pickups in paralle/series/out of phase.
The switch came with concise instructions & was easy to fit. Emmett even wired up the 'lucky 13' option for me which gives the missing bridge only with this switch.
I have had several questions which he has answered & even assisted with advice on shielding the guitar.
The switch is excellent & works exactly as advertised & Emmett is a really helpful guy.
If you want more versatility for your strat, then buy & fit one of these. I cannot recommend highly enough.
