Sonic evaluation: This is an addendum to my Dean pickup review - A Laney VH100R can be substituted for the Peavey and Marshall gear for HIM tone, but Marshall is required for the Neurosis tone. For Rammstein, Sansamp PSA-1 and Mesa Triaxis. For Young Gods, Sansamp PSA1. However, the tube tones are superior - such as the laney, so don't bother trying to Nail an INFERIOR tone :) Nightwish is another good band, though HIM and Neurosis tone is superior. The Peavey and Marshall models I am keeping secret as they are simply too cheap to believe - sorry. I'd say just get a Laney VH100R as they are currently made and it helps support the industry (the others are no longer made - why I'm not telling - nobody seems to think they are worth $$$ for some crazy reason - more for MEEEE :D Anyway, Please email me if you have any Dean pickups (chrome PAF type) you wanna' sell. peter845@hotmail.com Specefically what I like most about these is they perfectly nail (with heavy hardware on an all mahogany SG copy) the 'Don't Wanna Fall In Love' tone on Hims MTV video - the non porn one - that to me is my favorite tone.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Neurosis, HIM, Swans, In Flames, Young Gods, Rammstein
