Custom built alder/quilt maple strat type guitar. Pickup in the neck position. Virtual Vintage Solo in mid, Dimarzio Air Norton S in the bridge. (I build guitars and sell them on eBay, but kept this guitar as a personal axe ... mostly because the pickups sound so fantastic. I am blown away by these DiMarzio pups.

I am very impressed at the true humbucker tone this pickup creates. The tone is very beefy, not thin sounding, the harmonics are right on. Overall the output isn't super hot, but drives nice and give a very good clean sound as well. For tone, think "Paradise City". I have also wired it to run in parallel mode, creating a great single coil type sound. So far, this is my favorite blade type bucker, not a screamer, but not a wheezer, with a series/paralles switch, you get great humbucker tones, and some pretty nice hot single coil tones as well.

Would replace it in a heartbeat. I've been playing 28 years or so, and this pickup is simply the best blade type humbucker I have ever heard. Very versatile, has a nice beefy tone that will give your strat those fat bucker sounds you're looking for without going over the top.
