Reason for pickup change: Needed to make space for a MIDI pickup between bridge and bridge pickup. Also wanted something a little more open and sweet sounding.

Perceived output level: Hot. Hotter than my Seymour Duncan JB, not as hot as the Schaller. Maybe about the same as the DiMarzio Super Distortion.
Tone: Open and well balance when clean. Not very middly.
Sonic evaluation: Boss GX700 preamp/processor direct to PA.
This pickup sounds very well behaved when clean. When you wind up the gain, it starts to bite like a dog. Going through ZZ Top style crunch to smooth sustain, with good note deffinition on chords. Unlike most hot pickups, the mid range is not overpowering.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: It's a good bridge pickup for most rock style, except maybe punk and extreme metal, where note deffinition is not a factor.

Comments: I would definitely go for this pickup again. It has a lot of character and dynamics, without being restricted to certain sounds. Very resposive to different picking styles. Thicker than most single coils, with better definition than most humbuckers.
