Features :
Pickup features: passive
Impedence or other specs:

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Santana PRS SG
Position: all positions
Pickup being replaced: EMGS
Other pickups on guitar: EMGS
Artists using this pickup: DON himself
You musical style(s): Jazz, new age, metal, prog
Reason for pickup change: The Don has all the philosophical narration i need, plenty of highs, a ton of midrange like a fixed wah has a lot of honk. If you want to sound like jimi get this pick up so you don't have to use a wah pedal either

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: so hot my guitar caught on fire, total nuclear meltdown
Tone: very MIDI (haha, middy) w/ lots of screaming highs that will give all the girls hot pants five miles away hotcha.
Sonic evaluation: I am using my custom satana PRS SG guitar, through a Boogie MK 4 thats been modified to solid state. outputs 750 pure solid state watts

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: metal, jazz, new age, classical

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: i would hunt down who ever stole it and kill then by giving them an enema w/ the don special. i wouldn't hesitate to buy a new one

Features :
Pickup features: Passive humbucking pickup
Impedence or other specs: high output, 46k

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Gibson SG
Position: all positions
Pickup being replaced: Gibson 57 classic humbucker
Other pickups on guitar: dimarzio "air norton", dimarzio "red velvet", dimarzio "class of '55"
Artists using this pickup: Frank Zappa, Don Pardo (designer)
You musical style(s): perverted
Reason for pickup change: to be like frank

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: very high output, about double the super distortion
Tone: biting highs, with lots of mids and spongy lows...sounds like a half-cocked wah pedal
Sonic evaluation: i'm using a heavily modified gibson sg through a stereo amp setup featuring two marshall plexi heads(modified to be solid-state, output boosted to 500 watts) running through carvin 1x4, 4x8, 2x10, 2x12, 1x15 and 2x18 cabinets. the sound is large and perverse!

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: suitable for all positions, but sounds best in bridge or middle

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: the most amazing lead pickup....you can smell the solos from 10 miles away! if you play loud, this pickup is for you. do away with your wah pedal, cuz this pickup has more midrange than the catholic church!
