Features :
Pickup features: Passive Humbucking rail pickup fits Telecaster single coil bridge position
Impedence or other specs:

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Fender American Telecaster "C" neck Vintage White
Position: bridge
Pickup being replaced: Standard American Telecaster Bridge
Other pickups on guitar: Dimarzio Twang King
Artists using this pickup: Dale Hampton, Richie Kotzen
You musical style(s): Rock, Fusion, Country, Classical, Jazz, -------most anything
Reason for pickup change: The standard bridge pickup was really quite bright yet, not really that clear or articulate. The overtones and rich harmonics just weren't as good as I'd have liked. Didn't handle gain as well as I needed and rock rhythms weren't very punchy. Still, kudos to Fender the pickups they put in standard are very, very decent I just think after 15 years I could be a little more particular the stock p-ups are just generic, not bad per-se, just generic.

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Hot like a Duncan JB but, none of that sizzle and over the top super hot Dimarzio Evolution super Midrange
Tone: A great, great pickup lots of sustain, harmonics leap out, and gives much better bass response for rhythm, on lead it'll wail without making your cat die from too much treble tinnyness
Sonic evaluation: Fender American Telecasters through a Carvin Legacy VL100 Head and a Legacy 2x12 closed back cabinet (celestion vintage 30's). Boss DS-1 (for lead volume boost) and Boss TU-tuner. . .
Sonically, this pickup can do it all. I've never encountered or tried a pickup like this except the Bill Lawrence XL-500 (a nice pickup in its own right) and it just has everything you want in a humbucker. First, dead quiet, even tons of gain doesn't make it hiss much if any. Second, harmonics just squeal ala Zakk Wylde and Steve Vai don't be afraid to play Crazy Train, or any other metal because it'll take it and make it better. Third the bass response is just fantastic, clear articulate rhythm playing. Fourth, wonderful response to picking it and the Twang King will dirty your gain sounds the harder you pick and clean up as you lighten. The better you are a guitarist the better you'll like this p-up. Very versatile with Neck pickup and volume and tone knob options. Cleans up good with the volume turned down. Beautiful in second position for jazz, (YEAH! REALLY I never would have guessed either and still don't know why!?!?). Turn the volume down in second position and it'll sparkle if you strum like an acoustic.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Country, Hard Rock, Fusion, Progressive, jazz, classical. . . Perfect for anything and I play almost everything. . . Only for the Bridge of a Telecaster

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: I'd buy it twice again in a heartbeat. I bought another Telecaster just to put this pickup in another guitar (I love it that much). I got rid of my other guitars on Ebay and have never been happier with the sound.
15 Years of pro and semipro playing. . . Berklee grad an a bunch of other nice musical experiences. My only gear are the two Fender American Standar Telecasters (one is Alder "C" neck the other two tone burst "U" neck) my Legacy by Carvin and its 2x12 cab, Boss ds-1 and boss tu-2 (TUNER) and, Monster cables. I only wish I'd done this sooner like 5 years ago when I first offhandedly mentioned it to my wife. . .
I LOVE THIS PICKUP BUT, I especially love it in combination with my Twang King Neck P-up. . . No hates or dislikes at all. . .
Compared? sweet lord yes. . . 15 years of changing pickups, guitars, amps, pedals, rack systems, string gauge, brand, and I think I've owned or really worked out nearly every brand of guitar, pickups, and amps out there. . . I never guessed it'd be just this simple; The pickups just really express myself because they're honest about what is coming from my hands. . . I chose this pickup on a lark and thank God I did.
It's not missing anything. . . And I've FOUND THE SOUND I've always had in my head and my heart. Try this out with the DIMARZIO TWANG KING NECK and you'll have it all. It really rewards good technique but, doesn't necessarily hinder bad chops it is honest though so only buy it if your pretty good or want to get better. . . Pro players will really love it.
