Features :
Single-coil-sized humbucker. Made for the bridge position on a Tele. In production since 1994. Ceramic magnet. 4 conductor wiring. DC Resistance is 5.72

Instrument :
I put this in the bridge on my Squier Fat Tele and it is hands-down my favorite bridge pickup ever. I have used Seymour Duncan '59, Jerry Donahue, and others and this Dimarzio Fast Track T is easily the best sounding pickup I've used. I'm currently using it with a GFS Dream-90 in the neck but I am in the market for a better neck pickup. The Fast Track T won't be leaving though, EVER.

Sound : 10
I use this with my Epiphone Valve Jr head and 1x12" cab and it sounds incredible. I play rock music. Stoner rock, blues rock, classic rock, southern rock, psychedelic rock... I use a lot of FUZZ, some wah, some delay/echo. This pickup has balance, clarity, tone, perfection. It can still twang, but it's beefed up like you would expect from a humbucker. I can't imagine any pickup sounding better. What more could you ask for?

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing for roughly 10 years. If it were lost broken or stolen I would certainly replace it with another Fast Track T.

Features :
no idea

Instrument :
I put it into a Japan 50s Tele Fender
Bridge Positio.
Seymour Duncan
Texas special at the neck position
the Seymour duncan was quite fine but doesn't fit to a real fat twang influenced sound I was looking for.

Sound : 9
It's hot but good to controll
I use Fender deville and marshall DLX amps as well Hughes&Kettner Tubefactor and Warp factor.
I think the pu is good balanced with a fat and noisy tone.
I play Funk-Rock and Rock sounds

Overall Rating : 9
If it was destroyed or stolen I would buy another one, for shure!
I've been playing for more than 10 years and did different styles and own therewith different guitars. So it's always fun to improve your gead but to find the real sounds by replacing pu is rather stress than fun. There are often no suitable sound samples. But anyaway there's a way.

Features :
Pickup features: dual rail humbcuking
Impedence or other specs: see dimarzio.com for this

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Ibanez Thinline Tele 74
Position: bridge
Pickup being replaced: Original "Maxon" pickup
Other pickups on guitar: DiMarzio HS-1 at the neck
Artists using this pickup: Don't know, not a decision factor for me.
You musical style(s): Rock, blues, jazz, whatever hits my mind
Reason for pickup change: Noise and bad response form original.

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Better output, more consistent and wider response, very dynamic.
Tone: Well any bridge tele sound is kinda trebly to start with... this pickup gives a nicely detailed mid response with enough bass to kick in harder with a roll down tone knob.
Sonic evaluation: I'm using this with a rack/pedal setup, PSA-1 preamp, Crest power amp with a digitech dsp-128+ in effect loop which I 99% of teh time use only for delay(doubling). I'll also play with an Ibanez CP-9 compressor with my thinline from time to time.
My chain most of the time looks something like this;
Guitar->A/B box A tuner, B->Wah->Whammy II(for detune/chorus)->Tremolo->PSA-1(digitech in fx loop) ->power amp ->marshall 4x12 cab
More details can be found at;
http://www.angelfire.com/pq/glorbz/BunkerStudio.html

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: It's a good match for fingerpicking, using a compressor for this helps it out but that's true for all tele fingerpicking I think. I recommend rolling off teh tone knob for distorted tone, the highs can be a bit too much for this, that's my personal taste, but my drummer also thinks it's better like that. It can surely twang as much as you need it.

Overall Rating : 9
Comments: If lost or stolen... well who steals a pickups and not the whole guitar! More seriously, if the guitars goes I'll be sad since this would be practically impossible to find again, so I'd replace with something else. But if I ever get another tele I'll surely keep this one in mind.
I think it's a great value, since it can do more than regular tele bridge pickups, it gives great sparkly cleans, and it can rock without noise and hum. Pretty versatile by me.

Features :
Pickup features: Passive humbucking
Impedence or other specs:

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Fender Telecaster
Position: bridge
Pickup being replaced: Stock Mexican single-coil
Other pickups on guitar: Stock bridge
Artists using this pickup: ?
You musical style(s): Several
Reason for pickup change: I wanted the option of using a coil-split switch to have both single coil and humbucker sounds in the bridge position.

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Hotter than stock single-coil
Tone: Midrangey but balanced
Sonic evaluation: I was using this pickup with a Tele and a '67 Fender Bassman head. The tone was a fairly good imitation of a standard humbucker/Les Paul sound, as promised. It sounded tolerable with the neck pickup, as well.
The problem I have is that I wanted to use a coil-splitting switch, so that I could still have that Tele single-coil sound as an option. This did not work out very well, for a very simple reason: The "dual rails" design, combined with the angled position of the Tele bridge pickup, means that the high E and the low E strings each have just one coil under them. So when I switched to just one coil, my high E string was at least 50% quieter than the rest of the strings! Even with both coils on, there is a less dramatic but still audible difference in volume between strings for the above reason.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I play all kinds of things, which is why I wanted to expand the available sounds on this guitar.

Overall Rating : 6
Comments: I ended up taking this pickup out. It was a nice sound for most chords, but any individual melodies that involved the high E string were too unbalanced in volume for me to deal with. (This would not be the case, of course, on some other guitars; and the Fast Track pickups that are made to fit Strats are probably just fine in the neck and middle positions.) I learned my lesson, which is to accept the Tele for what it is and not try to have the best of single coil and humbucking worlds on one guitar.

Features :
Pickup features: humbucking rails for tele style guitars
Impedence or other specs:

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: chandler hollow tele w/lasido(godin)neck+hipshot trilogy bridge
Position: bridge
Pickup being replaced: '70,s fender pickup
Other pickups on guitar: 2 chandler lipstick tubes
Artists using this pickup: don't know
You musical style(s): alternative/roots/country/blues etc.
Reason for pickup change: after my les paul was stolen i only had the tele, needed more output, kinda needed a do-all type setup.

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: a lot hotter than fender pickup, with lots of attack, still merciful enough on the top end.Used to run it w/o tone control, have since installed one(more versatile)
Tone: lots of mids as you would expect from a rails-type pickup, but true to dimarzio's word it retains a tele tone but "more muscular"
Sonic evaluation: i used it for 6 years thru a crate G60 combo w/ext cab(both w/celestions)moved up to a Rivera Jake studio combo+a Fender Pro jr. for small gigs/recording it sounds great thru both amps.I also set this pickup to run series/parallel,parallel sounds even more tele-esque,I'd reccomend this set up over series/single coil(less noise on parallel+output is better balanced between settings)

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: agressive alterno-rock/country/jazz/blues-probably falls just short of delivering ultimate vint. tele tone, but i like it's versatility.

Overall Rating : 8
Comments: i decided to submit this review because i noticed this pickup was absent from product line-up,i think my review will be pretty fair since i've had the thing for years.Yeah,i'd get it again.I've been playing 17 years,11 with an original alt/rock band, now doing sideman stuff.love it's quiet operation(no tele squeal when distorted).a couple soundmen commented that it was a little bright, once i started playing other styles i added tone control and series/parallel, seems to do the trick.someday i'll probably change neck/middle pickups to fast track 1 or 2(the chandlers are great, just for a change,y'know?)got sears silvertone, several teiscos, guild acoustic, supro lap steels(6+8 strings)usual assortment of stompboxes, boss gt-5,etc.Harmony central is cool,I recomend it to lots of people searching for gear reassurance outside of product brochures i find the people who purchase the stuff are usually the most honest with their opinion, although i think folks should really wait a couple months before submitting a review, too many I-just-got-it reviews can tend to bias things, but that's really a small quibble. This is the best forum for gear i've ever run across, kudos to all the different musicians who take the time out to do this,it really helps.
