Features
:
high gain version of the air norton.
Humbucking, 4 conductors.
Instrument
:
i installed this in the neck position of my Ibanez SV5479F. It replaced the stock humbuckers, which i never actually played.
I understand Mr Petrucci plays this pu :)

This is a very specialized pu - it's designed to be run through a Boogie* at high gain and not get muddy, and still sound good played clean.
It works very nicely with the Crunch Lab at the bridge position, and split with the True Velvet in the middle ( which is a much lower output pickup, make sure that's what you want if you get these two together )
* the Boogie circuit is different than the Rectifier circuit. If you have a recto or a Line 6 machine pretending to be a recto, you prolly don't need this pickup.

The dealer i bought the guitar and pickup from didn't take the time to find out what the string spacing was on the guitar, so the original pickups i received was "standard" spacing.
Dimarzio was great about replacing the pickup with an F spaced model, no questions asked. ( yes, i know this is a neck pickup, but on this axe i need the wider spacing )

Humbucker designed for neck position use.
Instrument
:
Schecter C-1 Plus, installed in the neck position. I have the coil tap in place as well. This replaced the Duncan Designed HB102 that came stock.

Great smooth sound. I use this pickup for Fusion, Jazz, Prog, and classic rock. I can't believe how nice and clear it is when the amp is clean. I can turn off the bridge when playing clean and my chords are nice, bell like and articulate. The stock pickups were so muddy that you needed tons of treble and bridge pickup to get any clarity.

I have been playing 20+ years and this is easily the best neck pickup I have used. If this were lost/stolen I would replace it in a heartbeat.

I had this installed in the neck position in my RG 1550m.

The pickup seems to compliment the X2N I have in the bridge. I am replacing a dimarzio D Activator X pickup in the neck as it was overall too muddy. The Liquifire delivers a very smooth and even tone which responds well to staccato picking. It is really clear when playing clean but also responds well to high gain.

I would rate it a 10/10. I have been playing for several years and do a fair amount of recording.
